Hello,
I have a problem, if any one can help me please, i would appreciate it and be very thankful. I have vb connect 5.0.5 i uploaded all related file to the forum/ and separately throu filezilla the .xml but i dont see any changes, when trying to load the .xml throu the AdminCP it is stuck on "Importing Product, Please Wait..." i allowed overwrite and see the file on the server under includes/XML. How come i cannot see the application anywhere on my Admin CP? Thank you for your time. Uservb11 |

Check this: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=289291 |
That is correct. This version is not compatible with vB5.
And the vB5 version is on hold until vB5 stabilizes. |
Thank you very much!
I have installed the attached link, all seemed to work smoothly i create new page to experiment with the module and then when i finally see the new menu on the AdminCP 'Application Forms' Somehow i click either one of the options (Application Form Settings, Types, Positions, Edit default Question) and all get is blank page with no data or menu, just white. :( Just when i felt i finally made it.... What could i have done wrong in the process? Many thanks for your time. |

This is all in reference to the vB5 version. Uservb11 has posted in the wrong thread. Now my reply... You haven't done anything wrong. The vB5 version of this mod does not work with the current version of vB5. Did you not see this in the mod's description.. Quote:

ahh sorry, i havent noticed i am the wrong thread.
I thought that the most current version of VB signifies the most up to date. I guess i have to wait until until it is ready to be able to use it. Thank you all. |
Is there any way to utilize a form in a CMS widget? I copied all of the HTML code and it works, but it doesn't pull in the security token. All I need is to pull in the security token in the widget, I can try to figure everything else out on my own. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Please disregard the securitykey issue. I have resolved that, now my only issue is getting {vb:raw username} to work. EDIT #2: Ok, I got everything worked out. Please disregard the entire message. I had to use {vb:raw bbuserinfo.username} instead. I now have the form working in a widget :) |

There's one more thing that's bugging me. Is it possible to have the email and PM sent from the form submission include a link to the user profile? It seems that the system won't allow you to reply to the PM (presumably because it's a system message and not user) so it's difficult to reply without copy/pasting their username into a new PM message.

Edit: problem solved rebooting mysql...

Great mod, Easy to use. Installed on 4.2.2 PL1
Feedback below: On the "?do=start" page, where the questions are, I can't find an option to edit the text "I am applying for the position of". Had to manually edit application-forms.php to remove extra spacing between the lines (changing "\r\n". "\r\n"; to "\r\n";) Direct links to application "positions" would be great (e.g. application-forms.php?appid=1&positionapplying=2) Can't complain though, works really well. |
Quote:
No problem with the spacing, that's up to the individual user's preference. Direct links to positions would bypass the permissions for the application types, so that won't happen. |
Quote:
The line-spacing is not a problem, of course, but an option would be nice. I haven't delved into the intricacies of the module, so I will take your word on the permissions issue :) |
Just a few questions:
- Can I add more replacement variables for my Subject? (How would I do that?) - I only have one Application Type, is there anyway to just change the "APPLICATION FORMS" Nav Button to just say "APPLY"? Thank you. |

i only have the question if it's possible to add something like a <br> between the questions and the answers in the created threads. so it looks more nice |

Disregard this post. Issue resolved.

Disregard once again. I found the issue. I will leave the original post below so others who have this issue can get it resolved.

Is it possible to launch a form from the "Post New Thread" thread button in just one or two forums?
|
Quote:
Applications must be launched from the application menu or from the application types menu. |
Great mod, yes, thanks for it.
One question, could the application_send_notification be moved to the application_group section? It would be less work if one could define notification (email/pm/thread) on the groups instead of each job position. Define it ones and all jobs will have the same, since its almost the same notification type. Thanks. |

Great mod, works fine with vB 4.2.2 PL 2! Installed, rated with 5 stars and MOTM :)
|
Thanks for explanation, we see your point.
Since we dont have many "open jobs" and its the same person who reviews them :p we'll have to see to set some "default values" for the notification. Have a nice weekend. |
Is it possible to change this text, and if so what file or files would I need to modify? We are using this on our World of Warcraft guild website and plan on using the application plug in to have users submit applications to join our team. These users will typically come to the website as anonymous users and I want the text to direct them to register on the forums prior to submitting an application. I could create a landing page that provides instructions on what to do with a link to the actual application on the page but that seems clunky and unnecessary.

That was easy enough. Thank you for your help!

First set AAF up so the user posting the thread is the user submitting the application by setting the 'Poster ID' to zero. Then go to ACP->Forums & Moderators->Forum Permissions. Select the usergroup that the people filling out the forum belong to and set it up so they can view the forum. BUT... Change these settings to 'NO'.. Can View Others' Threads Can Reply to Others' Threads Can Tag Others' Threads That should accomplish what you want. |
I have one request:
I set it up, that the mod creates a new thread after submitting an application. Is it possible, that the applicant automatically subscribes to this thread in order to get a notification when there's any new post? The best thing would be, when the applicant gets a customizable notification via PM, when someone answers his thread. I would pay a few bucks for this work, if you don't want to do it for free :) |

Spotted a bug, not sure if you are aware of this, or if this plugin is still in maintained but when ever you go to application-forms.php?do=start without submitting what position your applying for, the page just loops over and over.
I can write in PHP, so I am guessing it's a pretty simple solution to the fix. |

There should never be an instance when that link is provided directly without being on the list of application forms where an error is thrown if an application isn't selected. If you're providing a direct link, then the bug is in your link, not in the AAF system. |
would you be able to make one for 4.2.2 please? thanks :D
