Hotfix ?

It means even though there will not be a change in version # there have been some small changes made to fix issues affecting some users and you should re-download the product and reupload all the files, including re-importing the .xml.

Fillip

WHEN the hotfix would be ready?

DragonByte Tech 10-12-2014 12:41 AM

I've updated it @ our site. I'll change the zip files here in a minute.

Thanks ;)

I've been using this for a long time without problems, thank you for your work on it.

We just moved our installation to a new server and I am facing a problem now however: I can access and download the files normally, but if I try to edit an entry (even if I make no changes) and save it again, I get a 403 page (Forbidden) mentioning this URI:

/vbdownloads.php?do=download&action=update

I've checked the permissions on the vbdownloads.php file and they're set as 644 as normal. I guess it's trying to access something else and it fails?

Any ideas on what to look for?

vBDownloads v2.4.2

New Features:

DownloadsII Importer
  • Now supports the vB3 version of DownloadsII (5.1.2)
  • Detected separately from the vB4 version
  • Stores imported IDs for easy redirection

DownloadsII 301 Redirects
  • A new file in the do_not_upload folder can be placed in the forum directory in place of the DownloadsII php file
  • Detects old Category/File requests and redirects them to vBDownloads
  • 301 redirects preserve your SEO even after importing

Bug Fixes:
  • (vB3) The navbar tab would not correctly disable itself when the product was turned off

Check your server's error_log as there may still be a file permissions issue somewhere.

midwan 10-26-2014 09:01 PM

I've checked the Error Logs, unfortunately there's no entry when this occurs at all. I've also double-checked the permissions of all the relevant files, they seem to be correct. The path to the downloads folder also is correct, as I am allowed to download files from there normally.

This only occurs when editing an existing entry or trying to add a new one, during the Save stage.

Any further ideas?

midwan 10-30-2014 02:44 PM

Anything at all I could do to fix this? Even re-installing the XML after re-uploading all the files doesn't seem to fix it. The settings in AdminCP seem to be correct (regarding paths), the permissions on the files and folders are correct from what I can see, there are no errors reported in the Error log of the server or VB itself...

I have no clue on what to look for... :-(
Please help?

hi, how changed this colour background? thx

DragonByte Tech 11-01-2014 06:17 PM

Unfortunately as this is a server issue I can't really assist further, your host will be able to tell you where the web server's error log file for these issues is located.

None of my screenshots or thumbnails are showing instead I get the noimage.png. In the directory where the files are kept the images and thumbs are there.

DragonByte Tech 01-19-2015 05:05 PM

Are the images and thumbs correct in that directory? Have you opened them to check?

Fillip

webspider 01-19-2015 05:17 PM

Yes and it does not look like the thumb was created however there are thumbnails there from other uploads but they don't show either. If I click the noimage.png screenshot it does link to the correct image.

Hello. I noticed the vBDownloads v2.4.4-p1 for my vB 4.2.2 gives me a weird appearance like the sidebar is shown in the vB Default Theme but supposed to be at OrangeVille (Provided by vBStyles).

I don't know why I am getting this Default Style for the vBDownloads Sidebar, and I tried to update or maybe fix the template manually. Could this be a bug? As this theme style supposed to match up with my current custom theme style.

This looks awesome :) Is it possible to use this to upload to a different server than the forum is hosted on? I would love to use it to display some podcasts, etc, but I worry about the space

Upgrade your version of vB4, I recommend vB 4.2.3 Beta for the best PHP compatibility :)

Unfortunately that's not possible at this time, though the Pro version supports linking to external sites (named Mirrors) which may do what you need.

Scan Cape Cod 03-24-2015 01:40 PM

Pardon the dumb question, but where do I moderate uploaded files? I am drawing an absolute blank on that. Otherwise everything is working fine. Each category is set up to be moderated, I can see the uploaded file in the files directory, but can't see any way to approve it.

I'm sure it's me being a dummy, but can someone please take my hand and guide me? :D

Thanks!

Hi,
is it possible to display the Navbarlink only for specific Usergroups.

So for Guest the Navbarentry is hidden, and for a specific Usergroup they are displayed

Only if you deny the usergroup the ability to access the vBDownloads system entirely.

Installed but I don't have any way to upload files.

Set all admin usergroup permissions to yes but the "Manage Categories" and "Import Files" links don't show on the downloads page.

What have I done wrong?

Added myself to the SA group and now I can create categories from the adminCP but I get an "A required field called extensiongroups is missing or has an invalid value." error when I try and create a new category.

Those features are Pro-only in the front-end.

Create some extensions, add them to extension groups, then try creating the categories again :)

I'm not sure why but when I upload a file the file just doesn't display. It simply stopped working.

Also, older files have disappeared. Just vanished. I don't know why.

I updated to the newest version and still can't upload anything. The upload process goes through but the file just doesn't show up.

DragonByte Tech 07-17-2015 05:54 PM

Please check your server logs for any error messages.
