Is there a way to make certain forum be worth LESS points per post?

DragonByte Tech 01-30-2011 07:41 PM

Not currently, but it's something we're looking into for future versions :)

vBActivity v2.1.4
  • Fixed a problem with editing Criteria.
  • Fixed a conflict issue with the CometChat Picture (ccpic.php) file.

Can you customise awards, etc? We run a gaming community and want to reward members for, example, being helpful to new members in a game, etc. Would that be possible?

DragonByte Tech 02-01-2011 05:56 AM

Yeah you can rename awards and give them out for whatever you want :)

Lovely, thank you.

How much is the pro and will this mod stay and be updated, as I believe the RPG Inferno went AWOL didn't it? There's 3 costs on your website in Euro's, maybe i'm not looking correctly.

Thanks.

The programmer who left Inferno Technologies (and took the site down etc) isn't involved with DragonByte Tech =)

The prices you see are 3month/1year/lifetime updates. You can always use the product for life, but you will receive updates based on your license length. We aim (and have been managing) 1-2 major updates per year, (e.g version X.1) 2-3 medium (e.g version 1.X) and as many small/bugfixes as are required. (e.g version 1.1.X)

Thanks for clearing that up Iain.

vBActivity v2.1.5
  • The Leaderboards will now once again function correctly while maintaining number rounding.
  • Installing / upgrading with a user that does not have the Super Administrator permission now works as intended

This mod looks great. Just what im looking for and the pro version looks awesome. Just one question though

Could you possibly tell me if there is an option to rest all points that have be earned?

Our system requires a reset on member points after every month. Does this mod have this option?

Thanks in advance

DragonByte Tech 02-12-2011 04:48 PM

It does indeed :)

Fillip

EasyEazy 02-12-2011 05:01 PM

Thanks for the reply. One last question. Does it work with the vBookie mod? and will it work on Version 4.1.1 ?

Sorry for all the questions

DragonByte Tech 02-12-2011 05:16 PM

If vBookie allows you to change the points field then you can change it to dbtech_vbactivity_points to make it use vBA points.

There's no achievement integration with it at this time, though.

It works on all vB4 versions except 4.0.1 :)

q3chap 02-13-2011 12:21 AM

Hello,

I upgrade from version 2.1.2 to version 2.1.5 .. but then, I miss the option of "points for register". Did you removed it? Can you enable it again and let us decide using or not? :) ..

thank you for solving the rounding problem.

thx again.

Hoan

DragonByte Tech 02-13-2011 12:31 AM

Nothing has been removed in those versions.

Fillip

oh .. then it is my fault, I thought there was an option to giving points for register.

Do you think about adding this option? Or an option, that the admin can donate points to a membergroup for being well-behaved? :)

Hoan

DragonByte Tech 02-13-2011 01:12 AM

Doubtful, starting off with points sounds a bit odd :p

There are points for referrals though, so persuading someone else to register does give points :)

Fillip

I know ... but as a bonus for user who register in a period .. i want to give them points as a gift. But I dont find a way to make it.

Hoan

** Edit .. and your MOD works wonderfull with the Point Market MOD, so I dont want to use another Mod.

Fillip

Hello Fillip,

does the new version now support the thanks and likes MOD ?

Hoan

DragonByte Tech 02-22-2011 05:00 PM

[DBTech] Advanced Post Thanks / Like itself is now responsible (as of v1.1.0) for vBA integration. There's a readme file with that mod that explains how to set up integration.

Fillip

wesooby 02-25-2011 07:34 AM

Is there a readme file or instructions for the Lite version?

THANKS!

Please can you post that integration info, or a path to the Readme? I found a readme there, but nothing about integration.

THANKS!

This version changes a few things you should be aware of:

vBActivity integration is now complete. You will need to CHMOD the following
directory to 0777 in order for it to work fully after you have upgraded:
/dbtech/thanks/vbactivity_type

Also, please enter the Button Manager and Edit -> Save (with no changes)
on each button in order to fully activate vBActivity integration.

Then, go to vBActivity -> Points Settings and edit the
points values for each button as you see fit.

Afterwards, go to vBActivity -> Maintenance -> Recalculate Points
in order to rebuild your members' vBActivity points.

You can also add Criteria and Achievements for the buttons.

If you previously had Criteria for Thanks / Likes / Dislikes, please
edit their Criteria and update them to use the new Points Types.

Please note that if you are using "[DBTech] vBActivity & Awards",
you must edit and save each Button after upgrading this product
in order to ensure that the "Points for <button> Given" and
"Points for <button> Received" phrases are re-created.

No actual changes to the buttons are required.

I'm new to Vbulletin. This looks like a cool mod file

I did download this mod; however, when I checked the "Readthis" file, I don't know how to do one of the steps:

"Upload all files from the "forum" folder to your forums directory."

I can access my server, but how do I do this? What "files" exactly?

Please let me know. Thanks.

DragonByte Tech 02-26-2011 09:43 PM

That's actually supposed to say "upload" folder, sorry about that.

When you've downloaded the .zip file, and extract it, you'll see two folders "upload" and "XML".

Open the "upload" folder, then place the files within on your server where your forum files are located (like where forum.php is).

Then, go to your AdminCP -> Plugins & Products -> Product Manager, click Add / Import Product -> browse to the "XML" folder and select the file from the vB40 directory.

That should sort it :)

I installed the mod successfully onto 4.1.2 and so far it works flawlessly. My only question is in the postbit where it will show the awards underneath the name on posts, in what template can I change the width of the border and the text color?

Otherwise the mod works great. Thanks

yayacannes 03-07-2011 07:34 PM

I have no link to setup the achievements, awards and points.

Only the main options to show or not in postbit and so...

vb 4.1.0 PL2

Thanks

Please ensure you have the Super Administrator right via the config.php directive. Alternatively, give your user the Can Administer vBActivity right in the Administrator Permissions interface.

yayacannes 03-07-2011 08:41 PM

Yes it works ! Thanks !

The lite version is translated in French but not the pro one, is there many words to translate more in the pro version ?

Thanks

Dadoo 03-07-2011 08:47 PM

Pro phrases are included in Lite products Yayacannes :-)

Is that mean you have untranslated phrases with your PRO version of vBActivity & Awards ?

yayacannes 03-07-2011 09:01 PM

I don't know, but if it's translated as you saif, it's a good point to buy the pro version ;)

Another question, why do I need to create a criteria before I can create achievements ?

Thanks

yayacannes 03-07-2011 09:20 PM

Forget, I understood ;)

yayacannes 03-07-2011 09:24 PM

I'am setting achievements, it will not erased if I upgrade to pro version ?

Dadoo 03-07-2011 09:43 PM

Nope, PRO version add extra features, she don't remove anything :-)

Install your PRO version with "overwrite" on YES (files AND product) and enjoy :-)

yayacannes 03-07-2011 11:24 PM

Ok by the way there is a bug with your forcing accept rules on your board dadoo, i sent you an email about this.

I create my accounrt, I connect, it's asking my accepting rules but i'm not connected anymore so I always come back to this accepting rules page :(

yayacannes 03-08-2011 12:02 AM

Another question for this add-on, how to get the collapsed stats in the postbit starting closed instead of opened ?

Dadoo 03-08-2011 04:37 AM

Hmmm, cookies issue i think..Thanks for your feedback, i disabled this product rule, you can log in correctly now. (My website was unavailable during few hours (maintenance on server), i guess suspect behavior can happen during this time).

For your last question, you can manage stats display in your user profile, in navbar : Settings -> Bottom of sidebar, below "My settings", click on Activity/Settings.

Display Settings let you manage collapsed and expanded functions

yayacannes 03-08-2011 07:28 AM

Ok i see but i would like to do it not only for me but for my 4600 members !
