Probably, but it is not something I am interest in adding.... see the FAQ in the first post as to why not.

Hashtags are separated by spaces not commas.

Mine quite working today or yesterday. it also took a long time to post new threads, I've disabled for now but hope to dig into it this weekend. I hadn't made any changes so not sure what's going on, I'll update any info I can find as this is a great mod.

Hey guys; our tweeter feed shows only our tweets. do you know how to set it so that it streams the tweets of the accounts we follow?

Question:
Can you please add the ability to tweet RSS feeds, CMS articles, Blogs, calendar events etc?
Answer:
This hack tweets live to twitter, and as none of the requests above are guaranteed to be live (ie they can be set to be published later), I will not be adding the any of the above to this hack and that is highly unlikely to ever change.
RSS feeds can be set to be 'published later'? How?

(Even so.. why is a post that comes up 'later' considered to be less important than one posted 'live'?)

I suspect that you have a different twitter hack installed..... for two reasons:
  • my hack does not have a file called twitter.php
  • files for this hack are uploaded to the includes folder and not the forum root folder itself
Those error messages are not something that could be generated from my hack.

Any help?

It means this hack works, and more importantly that you still have one or both of the debug plugins still active..... ensure both plugins are disabled. Set up your vBulletin Options for this hack and you should be ready to go.

Phaedrus 09-13-2011 02:23 AM

Guh...

Installed it on a shared server, worked fine. Upgraded to a semi-dedicated, worked fine. Upgraded to VPS... Not working.

I made sure that apache is running with curl with openssl... It's installed just like before... Not working.

I tried turning on the debugs.. It puts my reply box text a bit off and I get:

NULL NULL
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at [path]/includes/class_bootstrap.php(103) : eval()'d code:58) in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 3904

Same error for each of them... (the NULL doesn't repeat when only one is on, but the error message is the same.)

Conclusion: My server's resolv.config was set wrong... When that was corrected, boom. Everything works again. Even with the 4.1.5 upgrade going...

dany_danay 09-23-2011 09:16 AM

Look for this question in the FAQ section of the first post for your answer:
Quote:

I think I have set up everything correctly, the thread and/or post is created with no issues, there are no errors, but nothing is posted to twitter. Help !!!

Habsterix 09-23-2011 05:43 PM

It's very unfortunate that they can't find a fix for the accents, as our forum is in French.

Also, unless I'm missing something, there are only two settings: 1- Tweet only the first post, or; 2- Tweet the first post AND every time someone replies

I wish they had a bit more flexibility to adjust which Tweets you want. For example, odd or even replies, or every "x" number of replies...

Other than that, it's great!

Phibes 09-25-2011 05:01 PM

Plugin is working great. But tweet not send with special chars (like ö, ü). How can i solve this?

addamroy 09-27-2011 07:15 PM

I'm unsure about some settings in the admin cp

I selected from the drop-down 'disable in selected forums', but there's nowhere for me to specify forum-IDs in the admincp, only a place for me to specify ALLOWED forums.

Am I missing something here or what am I doing wrong?

It's the next box - "WS vBulletin Tweet Poster Selected Forums". Enter the forum IDs you want to disable.

You are correct the text on this box is wrong, from a time before the options were added to disable forums.

Hi,

How Can I add a Post Prefix to each tweet? (Like many websites such as Twitterfeed.com), for example:

[Post Prefix Here] Tweet content bit.ly/TweetURL23

Another example:

[Forum] vBulletin, the best forum system bit.ly/TweetURL23

Thanks.

You can enable Thread Prefixes in the AdminCP options for this hack, and it will be used for the post prefix when replies are tweeted, as well as when creating a thread that is tweeted.

I am talking about a standard prefix for all tweets made with this add-on, not vbulletin thread prefix, have you tried twitterfeed.com? this service provides what I am saying.

I have not tried twitterfeed.com, and if it is not thread prefixes or hash tags you are after then this hack does not have what you asked for.

It's ok mate, many thanks.
Really nice add-on anyway.

LOGECT 10-09-2011 01:57 PM

Is that possible to tweet threads that published by RSS feed ?

Thank you.

thomas 10-28-2011 01:32 AM

Thanks for this mod, works perfectly on 4.1.7!

tomshawk 10-31-2011 11:53 PM

I've installed this, set it up on one forum only for testing.

When I create a post, I get no errors and the thread posts fine.
It shows up in my bity account but nothing in Twitter.
I've deleted the App 3 times and recreated verifying Read & Write but still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appriciated

It means one (or more) of the following is incorrectly entered in the AdminCP Options:
  • Consumer Key
  • Consumer Secret
  • Access Token
  • Access Token Secret

Because of the above, this hack can not authenticate with Twitter using OAuth authentication.

tomshawk 11-02-2011 01:02 AM

Well, I know I had the keys correct

I finally got it working after deleting the app and recreating it about 20 times using different options.

What finally worked was "NOT" filling in the Callback URL

Thank you though, excellent addon

Hello,

Thank you very much for the plugin. Only a "bug".
Messages that are pending moderation, once approved will not be posted on the twitter account. Any solution?

The version of vbulletin 4.18 suite CMS ON, blog off.

Thank you very much.

Sorry, it not a "bug", I wrote it that way. Only threads and posts that posted to your forum straight away and not moderated or delayed in any way will be tweeted.

Ok thank you very much. Out of curiosity, why? What are the benefits?

For the future I think it would be interesting to configuration option.

Thanks.

Videx 11-22-2011 02:26 PM

I thought it was just the way vb4 worked. Anything coming from internally won't trigger the "new post" hooks. Only a live person pressing the "post" button will do that.

But if not, I too would second the suggestion to include this option as a new feature!

Ignore moderated posts? y/n

MikaN 12-01-2011 03:41 PM

Bug:

If you have Forum Component URL setting active (under Settings ->Site Name / URL / Contact Details) it will be added to the bit.ly url.

For example: if you have there http://www.example.com/forum

then every twitter link is broken because bit.ly link is wrong. It looks like this:
http://www.example.com/forum/http://www.example.com/showthread.php...

The reason for this is that if that Forum Component URL is set that
'fetch_seo_url('thread', $threadinfo);' function will return

http://www.example.com/forum/showthread.php

but if it's not set it will return

showthread.php

So when you have this in your code:
$baseURL = $vbulletin->options['bburl'] . '/' . fetch_seo_url('thread', $threadinfo);

it means that if Forum Component URL is set it goes like this:
$baseURL = www.example.com/forum . '/' . http://www.example.com/forum/showthread.php..
-> $baseurl = http://www.example.com/forum/http://www.example.com/forum/showthread.php

If it is not set it will be correct
$baseURL = www.example.com/forum . '/' . showthread.php..
-> www.example.com/forum/showthread.php...

bobber 12-14-2011 12:11 PM

Hello,
Once many thanks for the add.

I only wish in my Forum CMS News integrate with Twitter just as I do that?
Thank you for any tip.

Just as a suggestion. Could you possibly add a tick box to the end of the Hash tag text box maybe with default ticked. So if the poster don't want it tweeted they can deselect it?

Thanks

Any idea on how I could this Mod to only submit from Prefixes that I select/input. I've got my forum organized by Prefixes and some that are general questions and such i'd like to not have go out to Twitter. I'll apply any code changes

ForceHSS 01-13-2012 02:25 AM

from what I remember you can only leave out forums for now I am sure someone can code it for you if asked
