The issue is resolved. It took me all day but I finally got it.

Edit:
Anyone else having the same problem from Australia?

If this is based on where your vB server is connecting from (and not anything to do with the end user). Host your vB server in another country. Just because you're in Australia doesn't mean you can't host your server in the U.S. or Canada, or anywhere that can connect.

Or, he could edit his Facebook profile (as he said he did a couple of posts down) and make his hometown NOT a major city in Iran. ;)

Server location was not the issue here, it was the info in his FB profile.

I have encountered a new error people that sign up with facebbok are reporting.
They get the following error and then can not view the message board. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Go to your plugins manager.
Look for the plugin with the word runbox in the name. Either 1) Disable the plugin or B) delete the plugin. Do that only for this plugin not the whole product.

I will no longer answer repeat questions. If you are to lazy to read this thread for the answer I am to lazy to type the answer over and over.

I guess if you want a answer fast enough you will go back and read.

I know I for one will not support my mods no more when the same question is answered over and over. It isn't fair to the people who spend their time to make a mod then give it free with free support. Then people want us to answer the same questions over and over when it is clearly in the thread several times already.

If thats what you want to do is push support out the window then feel free to be lazy and not read. See how far that goes. The least people can do is read the thread to see if the answer is already asked and answered. Why should we have to work extra hard because some people are to lazy.

Note: fixed this problem. For some reason, dreamweaver wasn't synching correctly. As a result, many files just hadn't been uploaded. I just manually uploaded all files, and all is good.

Hello -

I upgraded 2.2 to 2.5, then 3.2 and received this error when trying to view threads

Fatal error: Call to undefined function fb_getlink() in /path-to-myroot/forum/fbb/hook_postbit_display_complete.php on line 115

How can I fix this?

I don't know about placing it under the login box, but I spotted posts explaining how to put it next to it, if that's any help.

I did, but I am new to all this and therefore a bit of a numpty. :o

Anyway, I seem to have a conflict - the vbStopForumSpam plug-in seems to prevents people connecting with their Facebook accounts on my vb4.02 test site and I am not sure I want to disable that when I upgrade my live site, as it prevents up to 50 spammers a day from registering.

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any idea how I can get around this?

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

PI Guy 02-23-2010 08:34 AM

Doesn't look like there's any support for this. What a shame cause it looks like a good addon if it worked. :(

magamaga1 02-23-2010 01:13 PM

Oh yes there is. This thread doesn't have 37 pages for nothing.

Anyways, I have a suggestion.
When a user clicks on "Connect with Facebook" the next page that comes up offers two options: On the left is "Register" and on the right is "Login" . I figure that if the user is already trying to login with their Facebook credentials, that we would want to have them just click on "Login" and have them use their facebook credentials.
Given this, I would propose to place the "Login" on the left and "Register" on the right.

Lets have a show of hands.

How do we know that's what the user is doing when they click on Connect With Facebook?

They might be trying to Register. :)

(The functionality of this is slightly broken right now. Clicking Login should lead the User to their Profile Page, where they actually have to log in, then save the Facebook options. It currently just kicks them to the Register page. To be recognised first time by this mod, the user has to log in normally, go to their Settings, allow FB connection, then click Save.)

Oh, you must have read all 38 pages of this thread. I'm back now. Will collect all the minor bugs at this moment and pack them in a package to save new comers lots of time reading this lengthy thread. I will include 4 known issues mentioned in the first post. In case I forgot something, please tell meeeee. Thank you
