I set the limit to 1 and then 2 for a long long time...but none of he threads are being indexed,what should i set it to so this problem is solved?

Have you read the help file and main post explaining how spiders are treated, the reality and risks?

Actually they're pretty much correct. Unless you are restricting visitors from viewing any threads (which would be better done with usergroups), bots should be just fine, provided that they don't read and send cookies. If you're using IP blocking, that steps up the risk a bit and relies on filters, but so long as those cover the bot in question, the same is true.

Ultimately anyone can still view any thread. What matters is how the visiting machine responds to repeat requests and that's true whether you set things to 1 or 100,000.

As a standard disclaimer, search is an evolving field where many variables are hidden behind the curtain. If you ever discover something to counter the current understanding provided in the docs, by all means, bring it up.

The documentation explains this. Please take a second look...

How do you know this modification is the source of your problem?

IT started only after I activated it..

How quickly did things change? How many threads have been deindexed? What, if any, errors does Google webmaster tools show?

Doesnt display any message for guests :-s

What settings are you using?

don't work with 4.2.0. PL2, i see block message with guest and bot profile.

If you see the message as a guest it sounds like it's working fine.

As for emulating a bot, are you still accepting cookies?

I using vbb 4.2.1 but i don't install because afraid this product will anti search spider, if this product anti spider then bot google will not index my site, i hope you have fix this product will not anti spider or help me install this mod will not anti spider

There's nothing in this addon that would prevent it from working with other ones. As for whether it fits an SEO module's methodology, well, that's really something you'd have to ask their experts.

Not really sure I'm understanding your goal here... Your post states that you want this product to run on your archive but not run your archive.

This addon impacts the frontend viewing system only. It does not impact the archive and, unless vB shifts back, there are no plans to change that.

Let's not use the word "fix" as it implies something is broken. What you're asking for would be a change and not one in our current plans.

Addons are a great base, a way to get started in developing your forum but they'll never meet your exact needs or fill the full potential of your particular niche. So jump on in and extend what we've provided to deliver what you want.

Nothing even similar to this is included with vb 4.2.1. This isn't a straight guests/no guests permission function; it allows you to let guests have x views before a trigger occurs.

Installed last week and did some preliminary tests and it seems to work with 4.2.1. Don't know for sure because my forum isn't live just yet. I don't think you need to worry about it.

This addon works in 4.x (you can check the main post of any mod for compatibility).

Minor vB versions rarely impact addons. If there's no bug listed and the main post covers the version, it's unlikely you're going to get an answer other than yes.
