I posted the instructions on the mod page...:

How to Upgrade From 1.1.2 to 1.1.3

* Upgrade the product. (Import the product XML again and set overwrite to yes).
* Re-upload fblogin.php

woah sorry completely missed that bit :o

ekantnl 12-24-2008 09:12 AM

Thank you for this mod.. :)

I have a question about step 6: Template navbar

I insert the script after <!-- / login form -->
I click save

and... get a forbidden page: Forbidden
You do not have permission to access this document.

Which is strange, as I am ususally able to modify templates.

Any ideas..?

Shaliza 12-24-2008 10:54 AM

Okay, this is simply genius because we all know that Facebook is pretty much the top social network besides Myspace. This will save my readers/users so much time. And it's good to know that there might be a Myspace version!

You might want to set your folder permission to 777

basilrath 12-24-2008 03:13 PM

ok just a few little things..........

i resolved the problem on my site which was this................. my forum url is

www.tabletennistalk.co.uk

my problem was the url for some reason (which does not affect the site in anyway) sometimes in the browser has the www missing of the path so obviously the /xd_receiver.htm wasnt found at times.

nevertheless that works when path is ok

question: i am concerned that it is easy or rather to easy for existing members just to add a name when connecting to facebook for example using another name and then being that person on the site.............in other words two usernames on site ? if that makes sense. i tried this myself as connecting with facebook asking me if i want to use another name which i did and allowed me to meaning i suddenly become the person on site ? which means i created a new user aswell as myself which we obviously do not want to happen ..........all sound complicated but im hoping you see where im coming from on this .......... very easy to have multiple logins

Dave

I just noticed this warning when logging in via facebook connect using ie7:

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in [path]/includes/functions_login.php on line 332

no, you cant change the link... it's not an application that you would add to your profile...

bydosangel 12-24-2008 10:21 PM

Dear Silk

I installed it but uts Givvin me a dead Link, I tried to put ur template (footer) but it didn't Work

Any Suggestion ?

stryka 12-24-2008 11:23 PM

what do you mean by a dead link?

bydosangel 12-25-2008 12:05 PM

<font color="Red">I mean just a (#) in the link without any popup or any screen...</font>

christicehurst 12-25-2008 12:18 PM

Strange issue after installing. None of the drop down menus now work. Which code would this be affecting?

I had the rep function button and the lightbox image system stop working on mine. The Javascript for it was screwing with the hooks and causing some Ajax features to not work. I just turned lightbox off and then went in and removed the Ajax if statement out of the template so rather than an Ajax popup for rep it was going to the rep page. Mind you if your menus are getting your change will not be as simple

Digital Jedi 12-25-2008 01:49 PM

Often that means that you put the headinclude code in incompletely or put it in the wrong place, splitting another block of code up in the process or even deleting an end tag to another block.

Everyone who's getting errors should really go in and double, triple check all their template edits line by line.

Benj 12-25-2008 03:27 PM

absolutely fantastic, works a charm, may i suggest a feature. importing the users facebook profile pic as forum avatar.

cheers

basilrath 12-25-2008 09:48 PM

Ill ask this again because its been sidetracked.............. log out of facebook............. go to any site who has facebook connect ................you dont need to register you simply become who the hell you like !

Far to easy for multiple registrations simply because registration isnt needed..............

Digital Jedi 12-25-2008 10:32 PM

Where exactly is your question?

You don't need to register? What do you think the application is doing? And how is this different from regular registration?

Quote:

You do realize FaceBook requires the same email registration that most forums do?

stryka 12-26-2008 12:34 AM

umm.. this is no different than vbulletin... you can use multiple email addresses... etc... HOWEVER.... atleast you know that a facebook account is a real active person cuz it is less likely that ppl are using multiple facebook accounts...

Like i have said in my other posts... the challenge will be to market to the users with facebook accounts... ppl will not be able to email market facebook accounts... other than via PM... one workaround is to use a vb.org hack that sends a PM to facebook account users to remind them to update email address...

I installed this, but can't get past the blank # link :(

Comes up with the FBconnect box, but then just returns to the log in screen. I've checked and rechecked all the code additions, and even reloaded my vb code and database onto a text server, but still won't work.

REALLY want to use the mod, but no idea why it won't work :(

Question?

Is this now creating a new account in the database if someone logs in using their facebook account? If so...very cool!

I see this now:

Yep, i get the same problem, and whats weird is the link in the admincp for "Import User Data From Facebook" is sending me to "fbconnect_mapdata.php" when the file that was in the zip and that i uploaded was "fbconnect_datamap.php".

EDIT: I just logged out, and all i am seeing is https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/, and nothing ever loads!

After installing the new 2.0 version I get a db error with the data mapping.

It's still broke, either the link in "Import User Data From Facebook" needs redirected to ""fbconnect_datamap.php", or the file needs renamed to "fbconnect_mapdata.php".

Also, when i do go to that php file i get...
