Brad Jones, Great thanks!!!

dazkeirle 09-03-2008 08:59 AM

hi there, bit of an issue.

I have both alt.1 and alt.2 set as the same colour: white. I dont require alternating colours on my forums, it looks messy.

I love that hack however with both alt1 and 2 set to white i can't see where the chat window starts and where it ends as everything is white, so it's hard to type into.

Is there anywhere i can set the background coliur to the text entry area independently, or any way i can get at the code to maybe give it a border or something so that it actually looks liek people can type into it?

Cheers,

dazkeirle 09-03-2008 09:06 AM

dont worry, edited in the xml no probs.

Cheers

So, anybody know if there's any custom re-write rules?

Hi, best mod on my site ever!
I have a problem though, when I set the Users with post count less than X can not view ChatBox - Set X to 50 new users and users with less than 50 post still have access to the chatbox, what can I do to fix this?
Thank you

mackin74 09-03-2008 04:51 PM

I installed this (which was nice an easy) and it was exactly what I was looking for!

However, I had to remove it instantly because it seemed to affect my adminstrator settings.

I didn't have a lot of time to see everything that it changed, but I noticed that when I had the ChatBox installed, I was no longer able to Stick/Unstick posts when creating a new post or when editing old posts.

Any idea what happened here?

Feature Request: Provide an option to NOT show the "Refreshing Messages..." text.

I can confirm and 100% agreed, this annoying too much users...

Show complete Shoutbox (/misc.php?do=cchatbox).
"Delete All Messages"

PondPikey 09-05-2008 09:04 AM

I seriously need to have the formatting and text area at the bottom of the shoutbox, I tried the option a few posts back but no luck. Can ANYONE help with this? if not looks like another uninstall.....

PondPikey 09-05-2008 10:01 AM

This is my complete cyb_chatbox xml - It incorporates Darkfires modification to put the formatting and text area below the shoutbox, and the submit button...however....

I am now getting....

Loading messages and when trying to post I am getting the security token message....

any help greatly appreciated.

So newest version of VB chatbox works again on my site :-D such an amazing product Cyb... you are the man!

DjEddie 09-05-2008 10:40 PM

Following on from PondPikey,

I'd like to know how to move the left box with the formating and submitting and where u put ur message in ... to move below the shoutbox and stretch where the shouts are shown..

Any help n this please :)

Thank you

Also i'm not too sure on how you make this appear on other templates like show thread etc, from ur instructions I can't work it out? :)

soundbarrierpro 09-05-2008 11:50 PM

Anybody know if there will be any custom rewrite rules?

Conner85 09-06-2008 09:38 AM

Is there a Firefox fix for the bottom scroll bar at the bottom of the page? Not at the bottom of the chatbox, but at the very bottom of the page. Anytime anyone uses the [.code][./code] bbcode it throws the whole page off.

Valter 09-06-2008 11:40 AM

There is a setting in hack options:
"Width of [code], [php] and [html] BB code blocks (in pixels)"

komirad 09-07-2008 10:51 AM

How do I add the stats to my "What's Going On?" at my front page? Looks like I need to get soem variables over.

students_forum 09-07-2008 03:27 PM

is it possible to make a 'post' in the chatbox that only one user can see - so you whisper to them?? that would be awesome!!! pllease :)

Hello Cybernetec,

This is by far the best module I have used. Would it be possible for you to please share when you may be planning to release the next version of Cyb-chatbox. We are looking for the fix for 'Users with post count less than X can not view ChatBox - Set X' so that forum users with less than specific number of post cannot post in the Chatbox.

Is it possible to have two separate options:
(1.) Users with x number of post not allowed to view Chatbox
(2.) Users with x number of post not allowed to post messages in Chatbox

Thanks again for the Great product,

I figured, I went to create my own plugin to run the db query on forumhome.

Anyway the misc.php is taking loads of server resources. I got both cybstats and cybcb installed.

Antwerp 09-09-2008 11:14 PM

Upgraded from 1.9.9 to 2.20
Anyone else having a problem with it not saving the font color you choose?

It's a great mod otherwise.

PS, I'm using 3.6.8

My guess is that's the problem...

EDIT: Nevermind. It was some odd Cookie Problem. Cleared the Cookies and Everything is Fine.
Great Chat Box! :thumbup

Ionsurge 09-10-2008 02:04 PM

I'm getting a bug, when it classifies you as no longer being active within chatbox, and ends the chatbox session, it logs you out of the forums too.

Masiello 09-10-2008 02:19 PM

Please, can make this XHTML 1.0 Transitional, it just isn't for two errors.

For who need to fix, open the Cyb_CB.xml and
around the line 1155 find:

i did an update on my forum from 2.0>2.2 but i see no difference?

vbboarder 09-11-2008 07:19 PM

Bug: About a week ago I reported that the chatbox shifted the page down & up by ~2 pixels in IE7 whenever the "refreshing messages" appeared. Several other people have confirmed this bug, but no fix has yet been posted. Well, I finally got annoyed and decided to debug it myself.

Solution: Currently, when the chatbox is about to update messages, it hides the "Refreshing Messages" text. The solution simply displays "Updating Messages" instead - you can change this to whatever text you want. I prefer to change the color of the "Refreshing Messages" instead of changing the text so I added that code to the hack. Unfortunately, the color change does not work in IE7 (so IE7 will get the text change and other browsers will get the color change) - you can change the colors to whatever you want or even remove the condition to check for non-IE browsers. So finally here's the 3-steps fix on how to squash the bug - the problem is in the Ccb_getMessages() and Ccb_updateMessages() functions in the chatbox template (surprise, surprise ....): Go to Style Manager > Edit Templates > Cybernetec Templates > cyb_chatbox, and
1. FIND:

PHP Code:

                ccb_Messages = new vB_AJAX_Handler(true);

ccb_Messages.onreadystatechange(Ccb_updateMessages);

ccb_Messages.send('misc.php?show=ccbmessages');
            }
        }

        function
Ccb_updateMessages()
        {
            if (
ccb_Messages)
            {

.
REPLACE WITH:
PHP Code:

                if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('MSIE') > -1)

fetch_object('cybcb_infoarea').innerHTML ':: Updating Messages';
                else

fetch_object('cybcb_infoarea').style.color 'aqua';

ccb_Messages = new vB_AJAX_Handler(true);

ccb_Messages.onreadystatechange(Ccb_updateMessages);

ccb_Messages.send('misc.php?show=ccbmessages');
            }
        }

        function
Ccb_updateMessages()
            {
            if (
ccb_Messages)
            {

fetch_object('cybcb_infoarea').innerHTML ':: $vbphrase[cybcb_status_refreshing]';

fetch_object('cybcb_infoarea').style.color 'gray'

.
2. FIND AND DELETE:
PHP Code:

             if (!Ccb_nowLoading)
            {

fetch_object('cybcb_infoarea').style.display 'none';

fetch_object('ccb_entermessage').style.height '$cybcb_height_input';
            }

.
3. FOR MAC USERS: to fix a mac sizing bug where the text area will contract & expand on refresh, find all:
Quote:

$cybcb_height_input_wstatus
and replace with:
Quote:

$cybcb_height_input
Hope that helps everyone from gettin' shifty eyes when using IE7 ;):rolleyes::D

Could someone tell me in laymans terms how to manually move this chatbox below my Random Member Photos on my index page? I am having a tough time figuring out which template this needs to go on. Please help -- otherwise its working well! Thanks in advance, Rachelle

Hi and thanks for this, but both options did not work for me :(

I still get the flicker.

Edited the Template as you advised on the Skin I am using and did a replace and saved.
Refreshed the Forum page and still the same movement.

I reset the template back to how it was and then tried option2 to increase the text area, but still the movement :(

Cheers

Sean.

CLaNZeR 09-12-2008 11:55 AM

Sorry my mistake.

I checked template and I had not deleted the last bits correctly.

All done now and fixed the problem.

Many thanks, as was driving me mad :up:

Cheers

Sean.

Yup, it's very important to do the last step:
FIND AND DELETE:
PHP Code:

             if (!Ccb_nowLoading)
            {

fetch_object('cybcb_infoarea').style.display 'none';

fetch_object('ccb_entermessage').style.height '$cybcb_height_input';
            }

.
But do the other steps too, listed in my post above. ;)

kleinschwanz 09-13-2008 12:34 PM

Well it installed for me and it works in Firefox. But in IE I can only input but not see any content of the chatbox... any ideas why that could happen?
Honestly I tried this Chatbox only 'cause the other one I had installed for quite some time did not work in IE at all anymore - it showed up but did not work in IE just sais "loading" same here.. in IE it says loading... but there is nothing displayed even with your chatbox I have the chance to shout with IE even I can not see what I shout.

Coud this be something that has to do with the Updates of vBulletin and a file used by chatboxes?
