Instead of NM, I figured it out, PLEASE tell the rest of us HOW you found/figured out the answer...You might not be the only person struggling with seemingly simple problems...

not at the moment, no. i plan on getting basic features down released and working before i start charging people for upgrades.
...

Blane, before you start planning on charging for this, you still need to tweak it up quite a bit...

You have been promising to make image uploads available since at LEAST Dec, 2006...

(Mar 05, 2007) next release :)
(Mar 17, 2007)yep. image uploading is currently being implimented
(Apr 02, 2007)...just know that i am finishing up work on another mod and will b releasing an upgrade to this soon
(Apr 11, 2007)... i am currently workin on a paid project, then after my next thing to do is upgrade my vbulletin and get all my mods working
(Jul 20, 2007)...I have updated all the rest of my mods, This ones next
(Aug 04, 2007)...Images will be added in the future

Last update was Aug 02, 2007...Blane, this is a basic need for an auction site, and while you can display images with BBCode, that is NOT the optimum solution. You do not even provide an IMG button in your description box to add the hyperlinked image upload to the post...
This has been a requested feature almost since you first posted this mod. I think you should finally address the issue and take care of it (along with the "Buy it now" feature, which has also been requested for a long time...) For those of us with server space for image hosting, it is primitive to then require the members who use the forum uploader to then have to go to a 3rd party Image host in order to post a picture with their auction.
The PayPal ability is a BIG help for many situations.

Yeah i was thinking about doing it. Ill look into it a bit more.

The submit button on the original listing page needs to be made into a PREVIEW button, with the original listing box at the bottom, similar to an advanced pane when replying to a post, with the SUBMIT on the preview page then the only "submit." It is confusing to see submit in order to see the preview, and in order to edit before submitting, going back a page ERASES your description entirely...This needs to be "seamless" for members who are NOT computer savvy, but can read and click basic buttons.

Please! This mod NEEDS tp be editable by Administrators! While I can understand the arguments against a seller editing a listing, Administrators need the ability to edit/delete absolutely ANYTHING on their forum without having to jump through a bunch of hoops or know a lot of coding to get into the "guts" of a mod to make changes. If mistakes are made, an Admin can fix them. Admin editing should be a CORE inclusion for ANY and EVERY mod created...

It would also be beneficial, if you would add an IF statement that would allow Vbay Usergroup VIEWING of auctions, in addition to "allowed to Post Auctions."
This would let guests see the auction, but not be able to bid without registering...

You will be able to sell this once you get the BASICS implemented, and then include the "fancier" bells and whistles, such as Member Profile linking, notifications, and some of the other more customized tweaks coded. But at present, just the basics of easy-preview before submitting, image upload (for those forums w/server hosting abilities), and ADMIN EDITING ability will make the "bare bones" mod more functional.

Installed, but awaiting a bit more stable version.

Thank you nonetheless, for all the time and thought you have put into this. It was not even a consideration for my forums, but once I came across the mod, it was a logical inclusion. It is a good beta, runs on 3.68, and it will be an excellent mod once it is completed.

solinarius 08-19-2007 01:39 AM

Hello, i have nice idea - if user will sell something they should pay for that like 5$ or something for send one auction, but i can't see any progress of this mod :( dead?

MP1 08-20-2007 09:23 AM

is it possible to integrate this with icash or ibank where people can auction off "digital stuff" for site points (in my case [AT] Cash) like sigs and stuff...

Smiry Kin's 08-21-2007 11:35 PM

good product, but on the images you provided, seems theres alot of space on the left, just doing - nothing... surely this could be made use off?

Create a Link in your nav bar for vbay.php

Code:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="http://www.YOURSITE.com/vbay.php">V Bay</a></td>

ALTHOUGH-

Where is the vbay_main file located to edit?

Blaine0002 08-27-2007 02:29 PM

That would be a template, hit templates and styles, next to the style you are using on your boards hit the drop down menu and choose Edit Template, Find Vbay templates twords the bottom, double click it, then edit the vbay_main template.

DieselMinded 08-27-2007 03:24 PM

Thats a copy of a thread that was posted here on vb.org that both you and i posted on.

DieselMinded 08-31-2007 01:04 AM

Oops OK Sorry

Mad Woman 08-31-2007 08:37 AM

Just one question here.
Do I have to set up a sellers group? Can I not just give all registered users the ability to use this? It would be great if I could.
Thanks. :)

Never mind. Daft question that was. I see that this is quite simply set in the Admin CP. Excellent Add On! :)

ChU v2 08-31-2007 05:39 PM

Installed on www.xgengamers.com

Fantastic mod, some things I would suggest for an update is being able to specify more than 1 usergroup to be able to sell and what exactly does the my vbay do? Great job

brianj 09-02-2007 10:43 PM

Hi Blaine0002

GREAT mod and we have it running now....But...We made it so that only 'Sellers' group can sell on vbay and we made a subscription of 30$ per month for this privy, but it seems that someone posted into the auction and did not pay, as we never got a confirmation or payment through paypal (where the subscription pays to). Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Blaine0002 09-04-2007 04:35 PM

The system is not fully integrated with paypal yet, when a seller clicks paypal it is only telling the buyer that they use paypal, then exchanges of paypal address has to be negotiated by the users through pm. Its kind of faulty at the moment, as people can run off with stuff, but for now just tell your users to file for mail fraud if they get ripped off untill i get a better system in place :)

DieselMinded 09-04-2007 04:46 PM

getting anywhere with the wissy wig yet ?

seajay 09-04-2007 10:08 PM

Can i add multiple usergroups? It only lets me set 1.

xLYNZx 09-05-2007 09:52 AM

ive just installed this and now my description has disappeared even tho it was there when i previewed it...any reason?

Phosphorus 09-05-2007 10:38 AM
