Clicks installed :)

Where do I go to change /misc.php?do=flashchat? Thanks for your help.

Paul M 02-17-2007 10:58 PM

Wherever you link to flashchat is.

Eagle Creek 02-18-2007 10:43 PM

Paul, when I buy the HTML/AJAX version, how can I intergrate it?

Paul M 02-19-2007 12:15 AM

AFAIK, it integrates automatically - but autologin will not work. Last time I tested it a few other bits didn't work either. Personally I wouldn't use it atm.

Eagle Creek 02-19-2007 04:36 AM

I haven't downloaded it yet, so I can't tell.. But should I overwrite the current flash files, or can I run two versions? In either case: will it still work then?

Paul M 02-19-2007 10:50 AM

I believe it is purely extra files, and you can still run the old code at the same time.

You really need to ask these questions on the Tufat forum as I don't support Flashchat.

Eagle Creek 02-19-2007 01:30 PM

Sorry Paul, I know u can't give support. But I had to be sure I could still use your hack, even with HTML/AJAX.

Yep all done, works well, thank you.

feverwilly 02-22-2007 02:02 PM

How do you get it to appear the forum page like the Shoutbox?

Is there anyway that the history remains in the room so that when someone enters they can see what's being discussed?

hotmasala4u 02-22-2007 10:03 PM

sir were is the instruction for how 2 install this hack?

In the Flashchat-vb-integration.zip
"Flashchat-vb-integration.txt"

dendrob 02-25-2007 12:19 AM

How do you set permisions for specific usergroups? I don't see anything added to the ACP

abramelin 02-26-2007 01:44 PM

does this works on 3.6.4?

Paul M 02-26-2007 08:05 PM

Did you read the main post ?

Where this files?

thanks.

Paul M 02-27-2007 10:33 AM

In the chat folder.

BACANERIA 03-01-2007 12:04 AM

I got a problem maybe some knows how to fix this. When i click on my quick links the whole box doesn't show. Maybe because that doen't work over flash.

daddygrim 03-01-2007 12:05 AM

WHO USES THIS WITH THE a/v FEATURe?

SloppyGoat 03-01-2007 07:29 PM

When it auto creates a link in Quick Links, where the hell does it put that code?! I can't seem to find it where all the other Quick Links code is. I have a few older styles that this did not work in, and I'd like to add the link, but I'll be damned if I can find it. I'm confused.

Paul M 03-01-2007 08:55 PM

You won't find it in the templates, it's added dynamically at run time.

xLYNZx 03-02-2007 03:37 PM

ok having a nightmare...as i always do when installing ANYTHING new! I installed the chat fine, not even realising this was here, so when I saw this thought I have to have it, followed the 5 steps and nothing is on my admin panel, yet when i go to admin on the chat i get

Quote:

This option is not available when FlashChat is integrated with a custom CMS (content management system).
Please use the user administration tools which come with your system to add, edit, or remove users.
i have obviously done something right but still something wrong.

ravencr 03-02-2007 04:04 PM

Without having to read a million threads on integrating chat into VB, is this the best system out there? Is it free? Are there ways to show who's chatting at the top of every page? Thanks for the help,

Chris

Paul M 03-02-2007 05:08 PM

Flashchat is not free, it costs $5. Visit their site for more information.

ravencr 03-02-2007 05:10 PM

Might as well be free! :) Is is a lot better than most other options?

Chris

Mr_Devlin 03-02-2007 06:26 PM

Can't get it to work properly.
When using
Quote:

misc.php?do=flashchat
it will try to load
Quote:

chat/flashchat.php/flashchat.php
When using the
Quote:

chat/flashchat.php
the login popup shows up. It seems that it will use the user table from flashchat installation, not the vb user table.

Weird...don't know what to do for fixing this. I'm using FlashChat 4.7.9 with vB 3.6.5. I installed the chat as integrated chat for the vb 3.6, but it seems that it will use the stateless or default cms.

daddygrim 03-02-2007 06:32 PM

who uses the A/V feature with this?

ravencr 03-02-2007 06:44 PM

What is the A/V feature?

Chris

I suggest you check the Flashchat config.php file and make sure you have the correct cms specified.

This sounds normal...its just saying that when you use the integration that members have to join your forum normally, or be added manually by you on your vBulletin, in order to be members on the chat. That's what integration is for. :) So people's accounts on your vBulletin are linked to the chat, so they don't have to register separately.

xLYNZx 03-03-2007 09:29 AM

oh, i thought i would be able to create and edit things, so its one room and nothing else? thanks for your help.

you can add more room, and ban user, edit user ect...

go to yoursite/forum/chat/admin

xLYNZx 03-03-2007 11:06 AM

thank you...i presumed i would have like a dropdown in the vB admin panel!

I did. In earlier versions of fc and vb everything worked fine. I had this problems since I use fc 4.7.x on vb 3.6.x.

As a standalone chat fc worked fine, only integration of v4.7.x in a vb 3.6.x failed.

Maybe I should use an older version of fc...

Paul M 03-03-2007 04:20 PM

Works fine with 479 and 365.

steve71 03-04-2007 02:56 PM

INSTALLED:

-Flashchat v479
-Who is chatting (for Flashchat)Version: 4.40

In my admincp there are two "flash chat" options in vbulletin options

1. Flashchat integration (1st screenshot)
2. Who is using flashchat (2nd screenshot)

Are these as they are supposed to be, or should I have more options?

settings I can't figure out:

-remove word filter?
-open flashchat in new "full screen window" versus embedded?
-change the link in the navbar to read "chat" instead of "flashcat" same with who's using flashchat add-on below. (3rd screen shot)

- in the navbar link..shouldn't it have (in brackets) the number of users in chat, and then list those users names once you hover the cursor?

ie this code (which is not present in my forumdisplay template). If this code will do the job..where in forumdisplay do I place it?

<if condition="$show['member']">
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="chat/flashchat.php$session[sessionurl_q]">Flashchat</a> ($totalchatters)</td>
</if>

Thanks a bunch!

Paul M 03-04-2007 03:29 PM

Both sets of options are correct.

1.There is no such option as remove word filter, I'm not even sure what you mean by this.
2. By linking to /misc.php?do=flashchat you will open it embedded, it you use /chat/flashchat.php it will open fullscreen.
3. You need to edit the phrase for the Who Is Chatting section - In the Navbar you would need to manually add the link, not use the auto option.

No, there has never been such a feature in my Flashchat modifications.

1. I meant curse word filter.
2. Where do I edit this path? I did a search in templates for:/misc.php?do=flashchat but no results.
