You downloaded the version for vB 3.5.4

Fungsten 04-25-2007 06:38 PM

3.6.5.

ArchangelX 04-25-2007 08:37 PM

Absolutely fantastic product! I love this, and it keeps my forums from going spastic with all the super large images! Thank you so much! Installed on 3.5.3 and working without a problem!

Great hack… works like as advertised. Real quick though… If I want to change the font and background in the information bar as well as place it under the image instead of on top is that possible and where would I go to do that? Thanks you…

mktrilogy 04-26-2007 02:05 AM

After Upgrade, doesnt work for me anymore. It does not resize anymore.

dope15gd 04-26-2007 03:34 AM

working very well for me. 3.6.4

I wonder if you might consider a mod to this add-on. Some site have it setup so if an image is quoted it is set to a small size (smaller than the others in psots). It would need to work the same as this script, but only for quoted images.

Just a thought.

Travlur 04-26-2007 05:47 AM

Anyone, will this work with photoplog? I need something that when people try to upload an image wider than the maximum width set in photoplog admin that their image will be resized (to 800 width) not refused as it is at the moment :-(

So you mean making quoted images even smaller?

Yeah, that would be very cool, I think.

What has been the experience of folks here who have installed this, with regards to the most optimal dimension size to choose?

Thanks ... :)

Regards,
Badger

BadgerDog 04-27-2007 05:30 PM

Ok, went with default settings....

Marked installed on v3.6.4 with vbadvanced and works just fine...

Thank you Spleasure... clean, simple install... even an old Fortran code dummy like me handled it ... :D

A few thoughts....

Perhaps expand the mouse coverage so a user can click anywhere on the pic and it expands or contracts. I found it a little un-natural to have to move it to the top small yellow bar all the time. Perhaps I'm just too used to clicking thumbnails that way...

Second, what does weights mean? Isn't the term file size?

Finally, maybe an option to do away with the yellow bar and description thing, just permitting people to expand and contract the pics by just clicking on them. Less distracting?

Thanks again for some terrific work to solve an annoying problem from people uploading large pics and overunning the board.

Regards,
Badger

ArchangelX 04-27-2007 05:46 PM

I do agree with BadgerDog's above post...even though this is an already superb mod...this would be over the top exceptional if his comments were taken into account and updated.

It's a quality mode, that's for sure!

Spleasure 04-27-2007 06:42 PM

The rationale behind the yellow bar is the fact that using this method the image itself can still be a link (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/)

Understood....

I did try another image resizer mod...

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=125500

It worked fine and simply expanded the downsized pic back to original sizw when clicked upon, but it had nowhere near the AdminCP functionality or UserCP options yours does. It was also a bit "touchy feely" installing, having to wade through template changes, whereas yours is pretty elegant.

However, I did like the transparency of how he did it with the dotted lines around the pic that had been downsized and the intuitive "hand" appearing as the user moved the mouse over it.

In any event, thanks again for your work... :)

BTW, what is a reasonable (optimal) X&Y set of numbers to set for defaults? Is it 640x0, 640x320, 800x600 etc.. ?

Finally, I assume I can change weights to filesize in "prhases" without any adverse effetcs?

Regards,
Badger

The optimal size depends on your layout. The phrases can be changed without problems.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that this mod works fine under v3.6.4 in tangent with mini2's highslide integration with vB attachments - lightbox alternative - inline too.

KURTZ 05-02-2007 12:41 AM

another update? :S

Razasharp 05-03-2007 04:15 PM

Excellent mod, thanks for sharing!

Is it possible to have an option where the full image is opened in a page on our own sites... where we can have our logos above the image and a 'close this page' box below it? That would be a huge help :)

Daky 05-03-2007 07:28 PM

Very nice mod, i like it, thanks.

I have a small problem i dont know how to fix.

I set the option to open pictures in new window.
It does work for me only for IE, but not for FireFox.

What should i do ?

No, no popublocker installed for my website, its on allow list.

When i click on the yellow bar, my picture just re-sizes.

FF 2.0.0.3, just re-installed java.

Weird :/

What have you setup in your personal settings for this mod?

Daky 05-04-2007 06:57 PM

Default resize mode: open in new window
Maximum width: 640
Maximum height: 0
User options: allow all options
resize images in signatures: yes
clear user settings: no

Thank you

Burley 05-06-2007 03:32 PM

I'm sorry if this question has already been posted, but I was wondering if you could put in a feature that enables the mod to use different dimensions for the signature.

It would be a great way to control the size of the users sig.

Geweldige hack!

Guest210212002 05-06-2007 04:09 PM

/me clicks install

How do I go about changing the color of the warning text? It's a bit hard to read with my theme's colors. I tried just editing the phrases, but it doesn't parse the code and just displays it raw. (eg: "span class="blah" click this to resize" instead of actually making the text that color.

Or alternately, where do I change the background color of the info box?

Cheers!

Guest210212002 05-06-2007 04:21 PM

Figured that out. For anyone else looking to change the colors of the bar, they're in the template ncode_imageresizer_headinclude, as plain CSS.

Code:

table.ncode_imageresizer_warning {
        background: #FFFFE1;
        color: #000000;
        border: 1px solid #CCC;
        cursor: pointer;
}

Spleasure 05-06-2007 05:41 PM

I made some mistakes with the previous release which caused an old js file to be present instead of the new one. Release 1.0.1 fixes this, as well as fulfilling the vBAdvanced compatibility promise from the previous changelog. Sorry for not having it right the first time.

Collectors 05-06-2007 06:13 PM

The best way to update is?:

Upload new ncode_imageresizer.js and overwrite the old version.

Plugins & Products --> Manage Products --> Add/Import Product --> Import Product --> Allow Overwrite: YES ?
