Did someone already get this code working on Apache 2.0 ?

I understand it should be something like:
$ipaddress=iif(HTTP_SERVER_VARS("REMOTE_ADDR")!="" ,HTTP_SERVER_VARS("REMOTE_ADDR "),$HTTP_HOST);
$iphostname = @gethostbyaddr($ipaddress);

but I can't get it work.
