the application has come a long way since the first release
Yes, I know, and we all greatly appreciate your work. Thank you much.
Application is great in general. The only one problem is "find me" hook in the postbit, which are causing double number of queries in the showthread. Nice thing to know, that you are working on this issue, thanks!

BTW, most people, i believe, don't even use "find me", so it is very good idea to disable that hook by default.

Could you please relese that code for 3.5?

I installed the latest version but when I go to edit the usergroups, there's no section relating to the Google Map settings. Yes, I refreshed the admincp before looking. :p Any ideas? I've had a few drinks so I can't promise that I'm not just being a dumbass. :o

Does anyone know how to edit the text that is called by $post[findme]?

I'd like to modify it, for some reason I'm perturbed by the lower-case "location."

I installed ME yesterday evening! Perfect hack!

Question: Is there a way to sort the usergroup legend?

Please make sure you removed any old versions first and upload all files in the upload folder.

Hey Andreas,

You can add an 'order by' to the query

If you open the vbgooglemapme.php on line 163 (or about there depending on your editor)

look for
PHP Code:

$gettypes$db->query("SELECT title,googlemapmetype FROM " TABLE_PREFIX "usergroup where showonvbgme = '1'");

and replace by

PHP Code:

$gettypes$db->query("SELECT title,googlemapmetype FROM " TABLE_PREFIX "usergroup where showonvbgme = '1' ORDER BY title DESC");

if you add usergroupid after select you can also order on that or any other field in that query for that matter.

Hello,

the phrase is called vbgooglemapme_findme. You can edit it in the product file and reupload it with overwrite to yes or use the phrasemanager to edit it.

Hope you find it.

Hi stonyarc,

@ sorting: It works, but as my userids have changed a couple of times it doesn't give me control over a real sort in the ACP. But that's a minor issue and could be anything for a future release.

There's one more thing I'd like to asked:

I've changed in the templates vbgooglemapme_set_yourlocation and vbgooglemapme_display_yourlocation the following code from:
Code:

<td class="alt1" align="left"><input name="text_map" size="20" value="$text_map" style="padding-left:5px; font-weight:normal; width:200px;"></td>
to
Code:

<td class="alt1" align="left"><textarea name="text_map" value="$text_map" style="padding-left:5px; font-weight:normal; width: 400px; height: 80px;"></textarea></td>
</tr>

to gain more space for writing the text.

While setting a new location works fine by editing (display) it, the $text_map value isn't shown any more and I have to fill it again. But if I only want to edit the markers location it's annoying when I have to fill in this text again especially because I didn't expect it and forgot to copy for paste.

Any workaround?

Andreas

If you enter the same textarea in the vbgooglemapme_display_yourlocation and vbgooglemapme_set_yourlocation it should work.

On edit the value of the $text_map should be shown and on set and update. You shouldn't have to copy it. It's retrieved from the database.
