Any ideas?

Yes, it's probably the download manager. Some of these seem to insist on creating the filename from the hyperlink that was originally clicked, rather than obeying the header information that is being sent to them. Maybe there is a way round it - can you let me know which download manager?

Will either of these make a post in a certain forum?

No, neither of these creates posts. They just manipulate the display data before it gets sent to the user's browser

Not sure I understand. By default LDM displays use the same style as the user sees, e.g. on the VB home page. If the admin changes the default site style, then both will change for users who have not made their own choice. If the user has made a choice (e.g by selecting a style a some stage), then I think that that choice is held in a cookie.

There are choices inside LDM admin/settings and category/edit/display settings that allow you override the style selection and to use a different default style for LDM and for individual categories than for the rest of the board.

Let me know if I'm missing something

Good lord. I had it set to a certain site style in the settings and not set to default. Sorry for the waste of time on that one.

If you make it "1" this will allow you to make an entry without the need for a URL :)

I did.
I get an error: UPLOAD Failed

Remember, im not uploading anything.. only adding TEXT in the description field which is adress of the clinic. :ermm:

I don't understand - I've just tried this and it works fine for me.

Which version of LDM are you running?

Just found a small bug in 2.1.0 AndrewD .. worth checking in 2.1.3

When looking at who's online while someone is looking at LDM it comes up as "Viewing Links and Downloads Manager" even though I've changed the name to just "Links" .. so it's not picking up the name change.

Also .. I've noticed that when they are looking at a cat, the cat's name shows up as the link. That's fine. But when they are looking at the Home Cat it comes up as "Home Page" .. this is a little confusing, perhaps have the name of the LDM instead as per the settings?

Oh there is a bug I've discoverd as well. This applies to 2.1.2, I havent tested on 2.1.3. But when you create a new category, it doesn not assign it the new icon you give it. You'll have to edit the category after creating it to assign an icon.

I thought 2.1.3b2 uploads retained the orginal file name instead of changing the upload name to a string of numbers.

I'm assuming you are asking for the version we are using? We are using 2.1.3. If this isn't what you were asking for, let me know please :)
