John Diver 11-08-2005 01:20 AM

First time doing a 3.5 hack so sorry if this is a dumb question.

I dont know which file to import and where to import it from in the admin panel.

2) Import product-journalhack.xml

Doesn't seem like I have a file called that?

lazytown 11-08-2005 03:57 AM

Any idea when the next version is coming out? Should we wait for that or go ahead with the Oblivion version?

Thanks

The beta is being tested at:
http://kirbydemos.ath.cx/forum/journal.php

Once the silly bugs have been identified and fixed, I'm sure Andreas will release the Beta.. :)

Flow Fusion 11-08-2005 10:53 AM

Works perfect for me.

John Diver 11-08-2005 12:34 PM

Sorry for repost but think it was missed:

product-journalhack.xml is in the ZIP

John Diver 11-08-2005 12:49 PM

I don't have it in mine...which folder should it be in?
Root or includes?

I have bitfield_journalhack.xml and cpnav_journalhack.xml

Thanks :)

Andreas 11-08-2005 12:52 PM

It's in the root of the ZIP.

board.trash 11-08-2005 05:13 PM

This is what you do. Download the zip file.

Create a folder on you hard drive and call it what ever you want. Lists us ?journals? as an example folder.

Unzip the vbjournal.zip file into the directory you just made called ?journals?.

Now you will see a listing of files that should look like this:
Upload (directory)
Product-journal.xml
Readme.txt

Do everything that the readme.txt files tells you to do.

Then open the upload directory. The upload directory is really the same as your forum directory. So you have to open your forum directory on you server and then put the files in the sub directories from upload folder into the corresponding sub-directories in you forums folder.

Once that is done then you have to go into your ADMINCP and then to PLUGIN SYSTEM -- > MANAGE PLUGINS -- > and then click [ADD/IMPORT PRODUCT] and then brouwse to you hard drive to the directory ?journals? and find Product-journal.xml and then click import.

When creating a new entry can you have a preview entry button by the Submit new entry button? I just thought that might be useful if your using different size font and different colors in your entry to look at it before submitting.

noonespecial 11-09-2005 08:01 AM

Does this support ajax?

Andreas 11-09-2005 11:50 AM

No, not yet.

Lottis 11-09-2005 04:47 PM

Thanx, instaled an just one tiny problem.
The location, when i see whos active is not right.
Exelent hack, Andreas.Thank you.

Lottis 11-09-2005 06:32 PM

I have one more problem.
The comments on the journal, cant be shown.
If the owner comments, its blank.

Michael-DLR 11-11-2005 01:56 AM

Anyone getting a sql error when people are trying to access journal.php?

MySQL Error : Duplicate entry '0c4c513c96b8574967f01999c986abc6' for key 1
Error Number : 1062

I am having a hard time trying to reproduce the error. It is happening every so often.

Thank you,

Michael

Current status:
- Merged almost all of your additions, optimized some code
- Integrated standard editor everywhere
- Basic WOL support
- CMPS 2.0 Module
- Memberlist integration
- Some minor tweaks

Now the big job is to get it phrased. ...

Any chance of getting attachments?

Thanks!

A lot of stuff was changed, if you choose to use this I'd recommend backing up your journal stuff beforehand (including database tables) and then reverting the templates..

Andreas, perhaps you could link to this post in your first post or something until you release your update?

any update on your alpha release? do you have any idea when a stable version might come along?

a simple approximation would make me very happy.

This is also a problem for me, was there a fix for this? I'm attaching my screenshot also

FamilyCorner 11-12-2005 02:13 PM

In the Add Entry page, only a few smilies show on the page, then the link where it should say "more smilies" just appears like this: []

See attachments.

I wasn't able to find anything on this anywhere in this thread, anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?

Same Problem for me.

AN-net 11-12-2005 03:15 PM

do any of the hints/rollovers on the buttons, the text that appears when you hover over, show up? if it doesnt then it is probably because Andreas forgot to load the editor phrase group.

Either the author or whom ever has taken over this hack. I can't uninstall and so I can't get it to work.

Andreas 11-12-2005 11:46 PM

@Flow Fusion
Als already pointed out dozes of times, Uninstall is broken (not only due to changes in the class interface in vBulletin 3.5.1) and is fixed in the next Version (Beta 1).

I know and I'm just a pest for the next beta version. I apologize if I annoy.

It's basically Alpha 4's changes being made official, plus the WYSIWIG editor and a few additional bugfixes & options as far as I can tell.. I dare say more features will be added later.

Andreas 11-13-2005 05:10 AM

No new options yet, mainly bugfixes and layout changes.

Wordplay 11-13-2005 07:02 AM

when are you getting it out of the alpha stages? i'm looking forward to a serious release. but wouldn't dare install an alpha release... that's a pre-beta right? sounds scary.

Correct, and therefore it's not recommended for production environments..

However, any issues that do arise will most likely be fixed with further releases. :)
