Reading through this thread made a bit leery of this one, but I installed and it works great for 3.6.4. All I've had to do thus far is change the image variable in quiz.php that Paul M. mentioned. Haven't noticed any other problems.

Thanks, as always, ZT.

Cornie 12-17-2006 06:30 AM

bbcode is not going to 3.6.3 and 3.6.4 by me.

Bielikov 12-22-2006 05:47 PM

Thanks for your hard work. To make a loooooong story short, I am having trouble finding a quiz software that sends me email results with a peson's name and percentage score. Some do, but there are problems with pop-up blockers and so on. So I figured a vBulleting add-in might exist. So ...

Do you know of a vBulleting that has posted a quiz I can take with your software, to get an idea of how it works?

What is the cost to your program?

Finally, I owe a lot of favors to our Webmaster. Will this take much of his time to install?

Best,

Gregorio

One option that would be really great would be if each quiz question opened in a new screen -- just like in certification tests and most trivia games.

Right now, I have a quiz with 57 questions that just intimidates most visitors.

Also, the software prevents users from taking the quiz more than once. With certification quizzes -- my users want to take them again and again.

There’s a problem on my site, where when you answer the questions and click on “Submit” it sends you to this error page:

Fatal error:

Unable to proceed with save while $errors array is not empty in class vB_DataManager_PM in /includes/class_dm.php on line 763 ”

Is this to do with how long the questions/answers are? Help would be appreciated with this.

Pete:

I had the same problem and resolved it by raising the "Maximum Characters Per Private Message" option in vBulletin Private Messaging Options to 15,000 characters.

in the quiz.php and Replace with
PHP Code:

$vbulletin->options['bburl'

Voil?

For those of you that can't find the correction for the image issues, here is the post that solved those issues; at least for me. I believe it was only two instances of the $vboptions[bburl] that have to be replaced as instructed above to fix things right up. Easy enough.

And some of you have had reported issues with uploading some of the .xml files that have quizzes people have already submitted in this thread. I looked up the particular error I was getting using some of these and from what I can tell, you simply can't use the following three characters when creating questions. (Not sure if this applies to answers as well or not.) But don't use &, <, > when creating questions.

& (ampersand, must be encoded as &)
< (left angle bracket, must be encoded as <)
> (right angle bracket, must be encoded as >)

Thanks to EduPerl over at Microsoft's MSDN forums for the information.

I would like to attach the quiz I made with all 50 U.S. capitals here, but I'm currently having issues getting it to allow me to download the .xml file once it has created it. It simply wants me to continue to log in over and over into the admin panel. I'll see if I can solve my own problem and edit this post later to include the quiz.

OK, found the answer to that problem in the thread as well. Amazing what one can accomplish with a little elbow grease. :D

Thanks again to everyone that has contributed to this wonderful mod. I truly hope ZeroT can find his way back and created an updated version of this mod. My forum members love this.

Thanks man! I had implemented this fix incorrectly and was very confused. :o

Can someone leave a functioning version for 3.6.4 to me?

Thank you

Ok, I get that global error thing when trying to import a quiz. I have two questions though.

1. By removing this global, does it make it so that I can't import quizzes? (Not that I'll really be doing it that much anyway, but meh.)

2. What line(s) of code do I need to remove to remove the global?

I am running vBulletin v3.6.4 and Inferno Quiz v2.1.

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind, I'm getting all sorts of errors. I'm just going to uninstall it

Just what I was looking for as an addition to my puzzle site. Easy installation, even for a nube such as I.

Set it up as a word quiz, which I will update monthly. Just four short questions now. Left settings set for registration required to take quiz. Would be interested in knowing if other boards have changed this to allow guests.

Thanks. (clicks installed)

Unregistered/Guest access?

I have installed this mod, and is working just fine on 3.6.4; One question though even if I set user access to Unregistered, when an unregistered tries to take a quiz - it still requests him to register on the site.

Anyone know how to make this work for unregistered/guests on your site?

Thanks in advance-

kosen 01-26-2007 03:18 PM

Hi!
I have in the test more than 190 questions (for japanese lessons).
All of them are displayed on one page.
How it is possible to share this page on some?
That on one page it was displayed on 10 questions?

Whether it is possible to make so that as a question the picture served?
When I try to use a picture as a question - the code is displayed only.

Foxsake 01-27-2007 08:42 AM

This is an excellent add-on, and i know these questions have been asked a few times, but can someone guide me on them please?

Can the Leaderboard be re-set? & can it be displayed as an overall standing in all quizzes? i.e. your ranked say 5th in all of the quizzes with 80% instead of displaying it for every quiz seperatley.

Thanks for any assistance in this

Fox

RvG2 02-16-2007 08:02 AM

This quiz module is very very good. :) installed.

Is there any possibilities to mimic the quiz module of moodle.org?

Lyrehc 02-23-2007 12:14 AM

I'm getting an error that //quiz.xml is not found - I think there is an extra "/" that the installer is looking for but can't figure out how to adjust it

Hi guys, I am trying to get picture instead of question. BB Code may be used in question, right?
So I try to use BB Code for picture, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ to show picture instead of the question. All I get is link to the picture. Picture itself will not be displayed, just the link.

Am I missing something? Can you advice how to show picture in question?

Thanks a lot. Charles

Is that known issue with Vbulletin 3.6.4 or something else?

amykhar 03-16-2007 01:28 PM

It's a known issue in this mod and the fix is already posted in the thread.

Bree 03-17-2007 10:54 PM

*Installed* Works awesome as far as I can tell... easy to install... Now, coming up with quiz quiz guestions is the hard part LOL Thanks a bunch! Wonderful Hack! Always, Bree (3.6.5)

I tried the fix of the $vbulletin->options['bburl']

and the pictures are still coming up as just links!

bump...

sorry amykhar, this is not correct. you mean the bbURL issue.
Chuck asked again for a URL-link-image-issue that I posted 1.5 years ago. I don?t got any help and I checked just every posting. There is no answer or help for the problem in the thread.

It seems that the IMG tag works fine in some boards and I tried all settings in the admincp but I can?t find a solution. I also tried to make a own BBcode but this code do not work in the quiz section, only in the forum.
Maybe somebody has a idea why vbulletin (or the quiz) change [IMG] to [URL] automatically (in every case > I tried out different image sizes and types...)

Any ideas? Any files to include?

BTW: in a post [IMG] works fine and display the picture as picture and not as link. If I remember correct, there was a option 3.0 or maybe in 2.x to switch between image as image or as link, maybe there is a old setting in the database.

www.alfisti.net 04-13-2007 05:41 AM

@chuck and stoneyreef
have you uploaded a new version of the file "class_bbcode.php"
I found a changed file by the hack userpages, maybe there is the reason?

MotMann 05-06-2007 07:10 AM

Is there a way, that User can upload Files, maybe Images, movies and so on, TO a question?

Its not easy for the Users, that they upload on others Servers the files and Copy the Code (IMG URL) to a question.

Thank's :)

tschai 06-12-2007 07:39 AM

Anyone tried to (ab)use this mod as a ‘prediction game’ instead of a quizz?

The only change needed would be:
Answers for the questions are only known at a later stage: so the results should be entered by updating a question and points are calculated and awarded at this stage and not right after someone has taken a quizz.

Anyone any idea which pieces of code can be re-used to achieve this?
Which parts should be disabled and where to put the new code...and stuff like that?

All hints or tips are welcome…

tschai 06-14-2007 11:49 AM

*bump?*

anyone?

I will gladly share the few I have but I can't export them. The export screen just keeps looping back to the sign on page.

Other than that I have no problems with this hack and am very grateful it was shared. Thanks!!!

can you be a little more vague? What do you mean a new version? Where would i get the new version?

vocalise 06-27-2007 01:04 PM

I'm curious if there is a mod that allows a submission of a quiz without moderation? If this was mentioned earlier, sorry. If someone posted the same question and answer in this thread, please just tell me whether or not it exists and then I will go and do a search myself if it does exist. It's just that it's hard to do a search of all 35 pages hoping I'm not missing anything. Thanks *so* much in advance.

I am running it on 3.6.7.
The only problem that I have had with it is that I cannot export my quizzes (see above) but that is more of a minor annoyance to me rather than a real problem.

Ftu-forum 07-07-2007 04:48 AM

thankyou, i got that problem too :(.But this mod remains the most incredle mod i've knew ;)
but still i have a wonder if this system is capable to be a large quiz system, huge database
is there any limit? i'm going to use it for an education-purpose :)
an should it have a option to allow users re-do their QUIZ

txsbmw 07-13-2007 01:16 PM

I am using 3.6.7, do I need to install this differently or just use the mods installer that comes with it?
