Ok I have scanned threw page after page after page of posts and haven't seen anything to this nature. If someone asked it and I missed it, I'm sorry.

Ok so here is the deal. I have had this hack working nothing less than perfectly for some time now. One that I love.

Today we had a newbie register and somehow got their username in Arabic (or at least I think it's arabic). For some reason it isn't showing properly in this box. It is showing up in the middle of another user's name.

I guess it should show the arabic name then the other, 2zen2, but for whatever reason it's not. Below is a pic of what it looks like in action. For what it's worth, it's showing the same in both IE and Foxfire.

Any clue on how to make it show properly?

The add-on works great!

My issue is with the CMPS hack. When I add the block to my portal it gimps up the formatting. The only place I have it is in the bottom right corner block or otherwise it'll cause every block thereafter to be in a straight line down the rest of the page. Any ideas?

Thanks.

SamirDarji 08-15-2005 08:01 PM

Someone made a module for it:
http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/show...=visited+today

krg2k 08-16-2005 11:39 PM

how can we have the visited members to have a vertical scrolling bar for those sites that have like 1000 users visit in a day ? 1000 users take alot of space in the page

thanks

btw, awesome addon

Fixed. I didn't have "Use Module Shell Template" set to "no".

Is there a way to include the total number of guests that have visited today? I get way more guests then members so it would be great to see how many I get a day.

Thanks

Ditto! I'd like to see that too. phpbb does it. And phpbb sucks! (IMO)

snags204 08-19-2005 08:45 PM

Is there a way to jsut display the "Number of active users today" block and not list everyone that has log'd in. I have a board with 5k or 6k log in a day....and the list is jsut too long..

i realize there is a minimize...but most users do not see that.

Any sugegstions or modifications to code?

I'd just eliminate the part of the code that shows all the user names.

Hi ive installed it fine, but in the end as you requested to run the following SQL query;

ALTER TABLE user ADD INDEX (lastactivity)

I went to my CP > Import and Maintenance > Execute SQL Query

I get a message saying: 'You are not authorized to execute SQL queries' ?? im the main admin?? who do i not have permission?

Paul M 08-21-2005 12:21 PM

You need to give your userid permission in the config.php file.

CP, 08-21-2005 12:25 PM

ive done that,

Paul M 08-21-2005 12:32 PM

....... and ........... now you have added the index ?

CP, 08-21-2005 12:59 PM

yes index is in place everything is in place, and i can see the most active users, but still if i go into Import and Maintenance and click Execute SQL Query it says i dont have permission. Ive logged in and out..,

mfizzel 09-07-2005 02:07 AM

is there anyway to make the tab closed by default? When you have 900+ members visiting daily it's a huge frickin' list...

I only ask cause I fear some members may not realize they can close the tabs themselves...I'd also like it closed for guests, it just looks cleaner.

mfizzel 09-07-2005 02:14 AM

also, when I run the query I get this error:

Table 'mysitename.user' doesn't exist

any idea?

The way to do this is buried in this thread somewhere (or the 3.5.0 version, I can't remember which). I don't have time to search the thread atm, maybe later today. Of course, you a free to search yourself. :)

Presumably you have a table prefix so you need to add that to the table name in the command. BTW, feel free to click on install if you have. :)

ReZ 09-09-2005 02:27 PM

Can this display the amount of members who logged in within the last 48 hours etc? Basically can i increase the time frame from "24"?

You could, just by uncommenting the '24 hour' line and changing the value in it. However, it would make the time displayed when you hover over a member a bit confusing.

ReZ 09-09-2005 05:54 PM

Ok, thanks for replying ^

Is there any way I can display the total number of visitors including guests in the "total users online today" box? Basically I'm looking at how it says in the "currently active users" box: Currently Active Users: 13 (6 members and 7 guests).

Hi, you are not showing as having this installed ? - Anyway, if I understand your question correctly then nope, there is no mechanism to count the total guests each day.

Quillz 09-13-2005 02:29 AM

Great hack, thanks!

This is the 3rd time I've seen this request. I know phpbb does it in one of their versions/addons. How do they do it? How is it different than in vb? I'm just curious as to why it is not possible/too difficult to do.

Paul M 09-13-2005 04:07 PM

vB does not keep an historic record of guests, so there is no way to count them.

SamirDarji 09-13-2005 04:41 PM

How hard would it be to code such a system?

RaceJunkie 09-15-2005 02:12 AM

Any way to keep guests from seeing it? I have no clicked in the Admincp for guests to see whos online.
