Hi i have a problem.

I installed the hack with the HTL and it works perfectly fine. But i need to uninstall it to check if its conflicting with another hack i have. When i went to the HTL, i couldnt get the uninstall page to show up for some reason, so i ended up deleting the hack. Now i still have the shoutbox but no way of an automated uninstall, and when i try to install the hack again so i can uninstall it i get this error on step 2.

Could not add a Phrase group in the System!

What i really need is instructions on how to completely delete the hack, the easiest way possible, because i think it may conflict with another i have and i need to make sure. Any suggestions?

Quick question...

Can I install this hack even if I have vBindex (which comes with a shoutbox) installed?

More importantly, can I put the shoutbox anywhere (instead of forumhome)? I'd like to put it in my arcade.

still no fix for that damn color around the shout on forum home? its annoying. Been trying to fix it but no knock and no one answer for 4 other people having the same problem

there might be a bug that doesn't accept Shouts when using WYSIWYG, it sez You cannot Blank Shout !

The fix for the bug is at line 646 in shoutbox.php:

just get rid of this

it's just a repeated code !

Is there anyway to get the shoutbox working on ALL the styles on your site? Right now I've got all the edits correct but it only works in my primary style :(.

I cannot see any text for the settings in usergroups, although I have run the phrase sql several times.
I get the exact same error, any news on this one?

Hi there,

i did changed to a news server, everyathing is fine, the shoutbox is working too .. but only when i enter it .. on forumhome and the vBadvanced homepage the latest shout will not show up , only the asshout written before the server changed are showing up ..

so the latest shout is showing 13 hours vefore, but in the shoutbox homepage the latest shout is showed up .. what can this be? i cahnged the settings, the usergroup and a pphrase like in the install script, but also nothing helped ..

anybody knows why?

my shoutbox is working perfectly, but i get on error when i go the the edit/delete part (green button on the left)

is saying i have smth on line 338, but that is an empty line. anyone know where to search for the problem?

ok, i've swapped servers recently and it looked like ive lost something to do with the shoutbox somewhere along the lines.

Look at the shoutbox, if i post it doesnt go no the iFrame, its not viewble, yet the shout is visable on the /shoutbox.php page. Please help./ I think it must just be some lost SQL.

Well... don't know about all the errors I've been reading through...

I just installed htl and the shoutbox.

Only things I had to do was the fix here in this post

For the "blank posts for enhanced editor"

And I didn't apply the template mods for the editor templates, even though I have them enabled.

Haven't experienced any other bugs as of yet.

Link14716 - There are a lot of errors with the supplied SQL files. The first SQL file 'shoutbox.sql' contains an error where a preceding quote is missing.

The second SQL file to run 'phrases.sql' as far as I can see has a lot of duplicate entries which therefore cause SQL duplication errors. I've not even tried the rest because of the above errors.



Can you take a look at these and make sure they work. This will cause a lot of problems for others not using the HTL install.

well, seems nice.
The only problem i have would be the safety issues.
My board was hacked 3 times last year, involving a shoutbox for vB 2.3.0.

In this shoutbox, woukld a hacker be able to place a script on the server, or would he be able to find out passwords, fe of Moderators?

No, the shoutbox follows the same rules as the rest of your forum / it has its own rules

If your getting hacked, check to make sure that HTML IS NOT ALLOWED.

html is and was never allowed in my forums due to the mentionend issues.
