how do i find out the usergroup id

I can use the point system but its not banning !!

Thanx

To find the usergroup id, just follow the instructions in the install file.

(Simply check the link properties for the usergroup edit link, and then copy down the last number after the final = (i.e. usergroupid=10))

skrueger80 05-29-2003 07:57 PM

i installed this withouth any problems whatsoever. i can sumbit a ban without problems. the problem i am getting is the warning does not register anywhere, not in the postbit, not in the usercp or the admin CP i only get the email telling me someone has warned someone else. I cannot figure out why it doesn't actually warn. i set the templates and made sure my admin cp options were submitted and correct user groups and stuff. i read every single post on this thread (from page 1 to page 32) i am clueless as to why it doesn't work?

SaintDog 06-03-2003 08:19 PM

The config file is missing from the ZIP file....?

SaintDog 06-03-2003 08:42 PM

Ok, well I got it working, after playing with it a bit, not had to warn anyone yet, but it seems to serve its purpose. Good job so far!

Spinball 06-05-2003 07:33 AM

This hack looks perfect for our forums where we warn troublesome users and eventually ban them.

I'm running 2.3.0 with these hacks:
Quick Reply Box
Buy/Sell/Trade User Rating System
Virgin topics "hackette"
and PM All thread users which doesn't work properly for moderators. Only Super mods and Admin.

Can people recommend that this is worth installing now that there is no support from gforce and one or two people have experienced problems? I have good mySQL and reasonable PHP skills but the forums code is gobbledygook to me.

On a general note I think this mod should be adopted by an experienced hacker as it is (or at least looks) so good.

DaFire 06-05-2003 04:39 PM

sorry i don't read all the posts.. i had a problem with an other hack and i think i found the problem here in the warning hack.

in member.php:

PHP Code:

// +++++++ Warning Hack 2.0 [ g-force2k2 ] +++++++

$templatesused ",warn_getinfo_warning,warn_userinfo";
// +++++++ Warning Hack 2.0 [ g-force2k2 ] +++++++

should be

PHP Code:

// +++++++ Warning Hack 2.0 [ g-force2k2 ] +++++++

$templatesused .= ",warn_getinfo_warning,warn_userinfo";
// +++++++ Warning Hack 2.0 [ g-force2k2 ] +++++++

notice the .=

It says upload warnconfig.php to admin cp, and there is no warnconfig.php in 2.1 folder..

Gary King 06-05-2003 08:08 PM

Just ignore the warnconfig.php, it's not supposed to be there.

Jon Levin 06-08-2003 06:29 AM

I'm having a problem, I got everything set up...so it seems, but I put the code in the postbit template, but nothings shows up. I'm a mod at another forum using this hack, so I know what it should show, but it's just not showing anything. Any ideas?

Gary King 06-08-2003 12:09 PM

Go to vBulletin Options in the admin cp, and hit submit at the bottom.

Jon Levin 06-08-2003 04:43 PM

ok, I just re-set up everything, and it seems to be working except one small problem...

There is a 2nd admin at the board, and obviously he should view the stuff. I have permissions set so that the usergroup admins can view everything, yet for some reason, he can't. He loged in as me and it worked fine. Help?

sajjid 06-09-2003 06:18 PM

Joel Llewellyn,
those questions have been covered over and over again throught this thread

Bumpaneer 06-20-2003 02:14 PM

Was the problem with multiple warnings for the same post ever solved? If so can someone give me the link, or repost the code? Do I have to uninstall and reinstall with modifications? Any help would be appreciated.

Splitfyre 06-22-2003 10:27 PM

Is there any way I can get the Warning Hack info to appear in the user's postbit for each reply? This might help with consistant table layout.

It's not very difficult. Just search for Posts: in the postbit, and place the warn info somewhere under there.

sajjid 06-23-2003 03:18 PM

AZone 06-24-2003 08:13 PM

Can you post updated installation guide?

1. "Was the problem with multiple warnings for the same post ever solved?" - why nobody did answer this question?
2. Can this hack automatically unban users after some days?

Asso 06-28-2003 02:58 PM

Paris Holley 07-04-2003 06:03 AM

Add <br> where you want the break to appear in the postbit template.

Vivi Ornitier 07-17-2003 09:02 PM

I was wondeirn if there is a way for the warnings to gradually go down in time because if u have hella members and lots of warnings, u can't keep it on them forever and it's a +++++ to revoke everything so i mean like is there way for points to come off after a bit of time???

Gary King 07-17-2003 09:30 PM

Hasn't been done yet, I don't think.

Gez 07-22-2003 06:42 AM

Where is this warnconfig.php file? Cause I unzipped the warnings hack and have all the files mentioned in installation_txt.php except warnconfig.php .
Any ideas?

Gary King 07-22-2003 01:10 PM

There is no warnconfig.php

kaotic 07-22-2003 03:27 PM

It mentions warnconfig.php a lot in the installation txt. Could someone please attach it?

Edit: If warnconfig.php doesn't exist, can someone tell me where the $BANtot variable is located?

Gary King 07-22-2003 04:01 PM

Have you tried searching for $BANtot in the files?

kaotic 07-22-2003 10:58 PM

Yes, $BANtot is used several times, but I'm not sure where I'm suppose to define what number it should be. I suppose I could just replace all instances of $BANtot with a number, though.
