My share button only shares the link and not the proper title, description and preview image. Anyone know why?

Twitter automatically shortens links IF NEEDED. If you mouse-over the link you will see it is indeed to a short URL. I have no plans to add any additional shortener options.

Probably just not compatible with such an old version of vBulletin.

@BOP5 - this is not properly working with dartho's mobile style. The Facebook button doesn't appear. Could you maybe please fix it to work with the mobile style?

This mod sounds interesting. I'll give it a try.

I can't imagine it will ever work right with a mobile style, you should use the option Disable In These Styles to disable it completely in mobile.

If you want a Facebook option in mobile I'd suggest manually adding facebook like button code to the mobile showthread template.

This mod is not designed for mobile templates.

The image will illustrate the problem I'm having.
If I disable this mod, the problem goes away.

Although I've been using an older version of the mod, I've had this running for sometime and it broke only when I updated to v4.1.10.
Updated to 2.6 with the same results.

Any ideas, anyone?

ADDED: The problem seems only related to right justified. Left justified is fine. I would prefer right justified though.

I'm getting a similar problem in 4.1.10. My forum is centre justified ... while the thread is loading there is another half a page, blank space, out to the right of the page. Once the page finishes loading this does disappear, and the page just fills out the width of the browser.

This happens in firefox, ad the site is marathonstadium.com is anybody wants to have a look at it.

Disabling this mod fixes the problem. And I am using the latest version of the mod.

It's not the biggest problem in the world, but it would be nice to fix.

Yes it does happen on your site too ... like I say, it doesn't stay there for my site (or your site), it's only while the page is loading, then it disappears ... so it's not a major problem. But anyway, I am using Firefox, the latest version. :)

Hmmm... I'm not seeing in on Chrome or IE (latest versions) I don't want to run the new FF because each release seems worse and worse- but if it's just loading I wouldn't think there is much I could do about it anyway. Thanks for the report though.

Has anyone lost the Facebook icon? Upgraded to 4.1.9 when I THINK it went away? Running 2.51. Tried left and right alignment. No dice.

I received the following message when I clicked on like facebook:

I tried looking at the settings and could not see where I would make a change. This has been running fine as far as I know for 6 months. Any help would be appreciated.

Facebook made changes on their side that broke Facebook Connect on all VB versions before VB 4.1.7. To use Facebook Connect you now need to upgrade to at least VB 4.1.7.

All seems to be working terrifically well, except for one little thing:

When 'Liking' or 'Sending' a post - directing to Facebook - the associated image isn't picked-up from the actual article but replaced with one that's taken from - I guess - somewhere else..

Yes, same problem as Mondi indicated, using 4.1.10 default theme.

For everything Facebook does right they don't pick images very well.

If you have Facebook Connect setup you can add an image for your "app" in the developer's page for the app and that image should be used.

If you don't have Facebook Connect enabled/setup then you can manually add this line line to your headinclude template.

Where of course you replace the URL with your own URL to an image.

Unfortunately this image won't vary by thread, it will have to be the same image for all your likes- I personally use a forum logo.

Note- changes will not be immediate- facebook stores a cache of your page so it may take several days for changes to appear on a page that has already been "liked." Try it on a brand new page/thread to make sure it is working.

As of vb 4.1.8 if the forums aren't visible to the public the Facebook Like button (and by extension this mod) won't show. Theory is not to share content the public can't see.

There is an option to do the "box count" on Facebook Like if that is what you mean. If you mean make the bar look exactly like it does on Digital Point you'd have to manually edit the template I suppose to get it how you want.

Edit the "more_share_options" template- look for: en_US and change it to your language.

However that code is really only used in older VB4 versions. Newer VB4 versions this should be set by the forum itself. If this mod is disabled is your LIKE button in English or German?
