great job on this mod

question, we have it running on our forum home under the nav bar, but it shows up on all custom vba pages, is there any way to have it not show up on the other pages?

Since this mod has no files to upload, you need only add/import product but remember to allow overwrite. In products that have files, you must upload them all allowing overwrite.

There is something wrong with 3.1.2. It is making my forum act weird. I downgraded back to 3.1.1.

Any chance we can align text to the top of the shout?
When using a large smiley or image all the text goes to the bottom of the shout... making it confusing who said what.

Honestly, it needs all of the features GCBOS has and more. I like the colors and stuff, but that's just eye candy. It needs more to it than that. For now, I will be sticking with GCBOS.

Anyway we can limit the space between the bottom of the chat and the beginning of the forums? The yellow area is what I'm referring to.

What are you talking about. It has WAY more features than GCBOS! That is why GCBOS is called what it is, GENERIC.

You don't need different version.

You just need to REVERT product templates.

The option to deny users to edit theyrs messages is a must have for security

Last one trouble about:
A user do something in chat, another user told him but the user starts with fu***g god and a lot other, when a moderator come in the chat, the user modified all post and told to the moderator that it's not true, that he have't never said "f***g god" or that he do other of wrong... We know the true only because the user that called the mod, he got a screenshot of the chat.

Same here, I'd really like that function.. some of my users are asking me about it.

Personally, I don't want my users to be able to PM. So if you add that function, please make it an option in the admincp, so it can be disabled site wide.

Also, I would really like it if there were a way to set two parameters (instead of just one) for the auto-pruning of messages. I would like one to control the amount of time the post is displayed for all to see, and the other to control the amount of time the post is viewable by the Admin for accountability purposes.

For example, I would personally like the posts to just be viewable on the website for an hour, after that time, the users having that converstation are gone, and in my mind there is no reason to keep broadcasting their discussion. However, to protect from abuse, I would like the system to retain all posts for a period of one week, so it doesn't become a "he said / she said" match when claims of abuse are reported. That way the Admin can go and look at exactly what was said and take the appropriate actions.

Just a suggestion: Wouldn't it be better to remove the table surrounding the shoutbox and replace it by a div container?

also the <br> there is before and after the shoutbox create a gap if you also have your advanced forum statistics installed because that one also have a <br> before and after.

If I choose white for the color of my text, it is not visible in the text input field. And light colors are barely visible. PLEASE FIX THIS. It has been brought up many times in this thread already, and it's still not fixed in 3.1.2. The text should always be visible in the input area. Two ways to resolve:

1. Make the text input background the same color as the chatbox background.
or
2. Make the default text color of the input field black, and always black, and when we submit it the color we choose shows up in the chatbox.

The first solution is most desirable and probably most easy to implement. This MUST be fixed, it is a serious usability issue!

You are given your choice of which colors to allow. On day 1 I disallowed white. On Day 2, sure enough there were users depressed they couldn't send 'invisible' white text! :)

Actually i've installed that version in object and i'm happy with this and for now, i do not think to update because all work ok ..

There is an option to have a sound when there's a new message in chat or to communicate only with a user in private mode?

NO! That is NOT the issue! The issue is I DO want to allow white, but when typing in the text input box, white text cannot be seen! My chatbox background is BLACK (and black color is disabled), so I WANT WHITE TEXT. Therefore the user should be able to see what they are typing!

Is that so hard to understand???

The chatbox seems to censor certain things by itself, for instance it censors "bs" so if someone types in absolutely it will show up as aolutely, any ideas?

I just typed "bs" on mine and it's not censored. Not even the f-word or other insults. :P
Check your word censoring options in the ACP.

My chat works in all pages - except CMS - with 4.02...

There is no sound in this yet and it is a difficult feature to add.
