thanks Kiros72.

it is already working fine for me (4.0.3).

if possible, please list the following things when reporting someone:
- the browser
- the screen resolution

Hi Kiros =)

nice modification! but i am having a small issue, my super mods can't access the reported members, the ones that are places in (COPPA) Users Awaiting Moderation usergroup, my super mods can't access their profile or even see it, they get this message:

Quote:

xxx, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Is this a bug?

So i mean any reported member who gets moves to the (COPPA) Users Awaiting Moderation usergroup and a super mod tries to access or view that member profile, they get this message and can't even see his page at all, only admin can.

Kiros72 06-02-2010 07:58 AM

That sounds like a permissions problem with your super moderators. I no longer have access to an up-to-date vBulletin site (not even for the 3 series), so I cannot direct you to the exact location, but try to look into the Usergroup settings inside your AdminCP.

You might have to either modify the settings for your super moderators or the "Users Awaiting Moderation" group. If you have further trouble with this, I'll need to handle it personally, so please PM me.

iadmirevb 06-02-2010 07:39 PM

I clearly can see two users with the same IP address, but the progrma doesn´t report it.

When someone logs in, does the program looks for a matching IP address?

Thanks

Add this to the top of your config.php:

Code:

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
This will disable ALL of your mods.

Log into the adminCP, uninstall/disable the mod you think is the problem.

Then comment the line out that you added above so it looks like:

Code:

//define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
And see if that fixes your problem.

Trek bro,

Thank u v much for helping me! i go try now. Sorry i think its my fault. This mod is meant for vb 3+ and i using vb 4. Sorry i hope can save it now.

May i know which part of the congfig.php should i add the line? Or just add at the top of the config.php ??

Andrei29 06-23-2010 03:34 AM

Hi trek bro!

you are my god saviour! Thank u my problem is solved! I am sorry i just realise i downloaded a mod which is meant for vb3 as i thought it was for VB4.

I am sorry to the developer Kiros bro as i think its my problem and not ur mod problem. Thank u very much trek bro!

Kiros72 06-23-2010 04:00 AM

Yes, thank you for the quick response Trek. Fish, please read that PM I sent you. More than half the time, the problem is that the administrator did not install it correctly (the physical files, to be exact). This has been confirmed to work on vBulletin 4, but please review the ReadMe file before attempting to install it again.

Yeah, just an FYI, I have this working on vb4.03 as well. I was just concerned with helping him get his forums back online. =)

Andrei29 06-23-2010 06:42 AM

Thank u very much Kiros bro and Trek bro. I will try to follow the instructions set by kiros to install on my vb 4 again. Thank u for helping me!

Updated how? It works fine on vb4.03 (and I assume 4.04).

I say, that's a damn good question. I'm currently without a vBulletin installation (3 or 4), so there's no way for me to test it, much less release it. I can code, but that's all I can do, and I'm not going to knowingly release an unstable version just so the version number is higher.

It currently works on all common vBulletin versions. But again, I'm without any kind of vBulletin installation or website, so I can't really test and debug any new features/optimizations I try to code for it. The database features would be very hard to work on without being able to test it...

So please, bear with me.

I was just wondering if you were going to update this plug-in to work with V4? If you still do not have an active vBulletin installation, I will be more than happy to allow you access to mine, if this is allowed.

umm..this plugin is working perfectly even on vB4.0.5.

GSM_electronic 07-22-2010 08:23 AM

It works on VB4, just not movig to desired usergroup (U.A.M.), now trying to check if autoban is working...

Is any valid VB4 genuine product of this kind available?

Need to know the same. This add-on has busted some true jackasses on our forum and we need it for 4.x

Too bad these good spam detectors are falling apart with age. I wish
someone could step in and pick up the slack. We always need the
best of spam security with VB at all times. Even if it works on newer
versions, mods should always be updated for secuirty reasons.

It seemed to install ok on v4.0.6, I have yet to test it on anyone yet :)

I tried it on myself since I would have the same IP using another username,
it seemed just to ignore the signup.

Vegas Dude 08-14-2010 06:37 PM

I installed this on V3.7.0 and 2 of my users got this error trying to login.

Warning: require_once([path]/madp/detection.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/includes/functions_login.php(185) : eval()'d code on line 3

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/xxxxx/public_html/forum/madp/detection.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/xxxxx/public_html/forum/includes/functions_login.php(185) : eval()'d code on line 3

Any ideas why?:) It's disabled for now.

underESTIMATED 08-20-2010 03:48 PM

Any plans for vB4? I could really use it again.

Thanks!

Just install it like you installed it on vB3. It should work just fine.

Those errors occur when you do not have the FILES uploaded correctly. Re-read the ReaMe file and follow the instructions. Like I have explained before, the files contained in the /madp/ directory should be uploaded to *forum root*/madp/ so that vBulletin can call the files correctly.

I have not counted on searching for the posts. An old friend has lent me a directory to test and work on this modification, so hopefully I'll be able to do some debugging soon. However, the computer containing my work for version 2.0 is on another machine in my household, which does not have a power supply at the moment. So while my buddy takes care of a few things on his server, I'll be trying to find a new power supply.

Just be patient, and I'll see what I can do. Until then, I recommend keeping the reports in a separate forum. Thanks :)

haytham 09-22-2010 05:45 PM

Right now I am sure 2 users are using the forum and it hasn't picked them up so I banned one but the other is still using the forum and still hasn't notified me. I am using 3.8.5.

Alfa1 09-27-2010 09:44 AM

I am running this on a big board and its certainly a live saver. We have 1250 report threads so far. (5-10 a day) So a big thanks to the coder!

We frequently do encounter a bug/error though, as it does not correctly identify if any of the multiple accounts are banned accounts.
Most reports state:

Primary Banned Usergroup: 8 (Found)

While none of the accounts are banned (8)

It would really help, if this issue would be solved, because it would allow us to use the built in functions to automatize part of the process. Making the system ban automatic while this issue is unresolved, would result in banning hundreds of innocent members.

I'd like to request three enhancements:
  1. post new reports relating to the same user, to the existing thread.
  2. if a report relates to a user that is in the banned group, put 'BANNED USER RETURNING:' in the thread title. This makes it easy for staff to identify the urgent cases.
  3. when the alert is based upon IP, but not cookie, then its uncertain if it relates to the same user. This can be solved by checking if the IP is dynamic or static and comparing similarities in usernames, Date of birth, email domain, profile fields, Join Date & Last Post & Last Activity. Normally staff will do this by hand, which is quite a lot of work when you are getting reports in daily. All this can be done automatically, which would be a huge relieve on workload.
Also would like to remind to these suggestions, as they are buried in this thread:

Some suggestions:

- After each account:
  • Add a link to PM the member. (optimal would be a predefined PM text to be sent)
  • Add a link to search the database for all IP's that belong to the account.
  • Add a link to add the account to the miserable users group
  • Add a link to add the account to 'Tachy goes to Coventry'
  • Add a link to ban the member.
- Add a function to ignore the accounts or IPs in the future.
- If an IP is reported, then add the whois.

We also have profited a LOT from this hack. 5-10 threads a day. Our gratitude to Kiros.

We do not experience inocent banning due to any bug (as long as I know).

Among commented requests, I see interest in IP query/search when involved, and indeed variables available pointing userIds, so we can customize links to automate actions in thread content.

I'm decided to focus moderation info towards user notes, so my proposal would be to add clon accounts information in this field, a similar way in wich this hack does on user name changes:

Markos 10-11-2010 12:23 PM

works on vb4.0.7 but doesn't re-ban banned users

Alan_SP 10-18-2010 07:32 PM

It would be nice that there is option to prevent banned users to register to board and enabling normal users to have multiple accounts without moving to new usergroup for moderation.

Alfa1 10-18-2010 08:55 PM

Deceptor (vboptimize) is now looking into resolving this conflict/bug with MADP. I hope that this will be found, as both hacks are awesome.

Alan_SP 10-21-2010 02:49 AM

I think that there needs to be more options what to do with MA depending on user behind them.

For example, right now I can't allow MA for user without ban and disallowing registration and banning all MA for user with ban. Or how can it be done? On some bulletin boards it would be useful to allow MA for decent users, while punishing those misbehaving ones.

I suggest:

Split options for MA registration and login detection.

Also, each of this group of options should have parts for users with ban and those without.

In registration part, for each type of users (banned and without ban) should be these options:

1. Do nothing
2. Move to usergroup
3. Ban (it would be really nice if we could set ban duration in options, whether to match original ban or arbitrary period of time including permanently banning MA)
4. Disallow registration completely

In MA login detection part, also for each type of users (banned and without ban):

1. Do nothing
2. Move to usergroup
3. Ban all other MA

In each of this four settings group should be separate options for reporting actions and detections, to report or not. The type of reporting is determined in special settings group, as it is done now. You may want reports on some actions and detections performed and not on others.

Now we have silent mode. If silent mode is off, is there any reports of actions? I don't use any actions because there is none that suits my needs. But I heard that there is no reports of actions and detections. I'm not sure, but I would like some reports.

If there is a way to improve MA detections, it's more than welcome. :)

Anyway, I think that having options done this way would make this product more suited for needs of different bulletin boards. As now I can't allow users without ban to have MA and ban those that have been banned already, I need to do all work manually and use it only for reporting (silent mode on). But, I would really like to be able to disallow registration for users already banned and automatically ban their other MA. And ability to decide how long they will be banned would be especially useful. I don't want to permanently ban them, only till they original ban expire.

W!cKeD 10-25-2010 01:00 PM

Thanks Kiros, but when you port it to vBulletin 4? :)

Alan_SP 10-25-2010 08:30 PM

It works just fine with vB4 (I tested it on 4.0.6). As it doesn't need templates, it works with vB4.
