Odd.

I'm going to uninstall the RC version and upload the 2.0. Hopefully that has something to do with it.

You say that it may be conflicting with another mod? Any idea which one/what type would be affected? Thanks!

The Geek 10-15-2008 10:23 AM

Really have no clue. Behind the scenes it shouldn't matter if it is the first post or the 15th post. The mechanics are exactly the same. As far as conflicts, I really don't know either as there are countless mods that could be tweaking post data. If you want, PM me an admincp account and ill take a look at it.

Personally, I doubt 2.0.2 will make any difference

Idlehearts 10-15-2008 10:36 AM

Thanks for your mod

I want the title to link to the converted code instead of linking to original site

example
Take megavideo url : hxxp://www.megavideo.com/?v=39HCOWKJ

The present title links to same url: hxxp://www.megavideo.com/?v=39HCOWKJ

but i want it to link it to hxxp://www.megavideo.com/v/39HCOWKJ.30430295.0

How do i, do that

AND more over when i use two youtube links in single post the embed player is getting displayed 2 times each

TMH63 10-15-2008 11:27 AM

You all have to bare with me...I'm a newbie to this stuff. But I have a question...

For install... When you say,

Quote:

Installation/Upgrade

* Upload the contents of the forums folder into your forums directory
Do look in each and every folder of the forums folder and upload those files to my forums directory....or can I upload the folders containing the files to my forums directory???

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks!

Preech 10-15-2008 12:39 PM

Maybe I over looked the threads. But when I post Zshare links the images do not show up.
I have them in the misc folder.

TMH63 10-15-2008 01:25 PM

I apparently don't have a clue on where and what I'm suppose to upload.

When I upload the files...

automediaembed_admin.php
index.html
amazon_icon.gif(already exists)
film_go.png
ame.js
ame_bbcode.php
cpnav_automediaembed.xml
hooks_automediaembed.xml
bitfield_automediaembed.xml

To my forums folder, my forums page goes haywire. I uninstall and everything goes back to normal.

Maybe someone can help me out on what I'm doing wrong.

Kinneas 10-15-2008 01:41 PM

Wow! Can't believe I only just noticed this new version. Installed!

TMH63 10-15-2008 01:55 PM

Ok...I've been set straight on how to get this stuff rollin.

Thanks!!

I uninstalled and then reinstalled both 2.02 and 2.5. I noticed that the first time 'round some of the php files were uploaded as binary. Don't know if that did it, but it's working now...

...still bewildered. But thanks for a great mod :)

Never mind, I figured it out. It happens when you install AME first, and later the blog. Re-importing the AME xml file will fix that.

Love the Mod

I have got it working in IE 7 but cant get the video to play in Firefox 3. It shows up and the first frame of the vid is loaded and waiting BUT when I hit play that's as far as it goes.

Cleared all internet options (Cookies, cache etc) and made sure that flash was up to date, still no luck.

Can some one please assist me with my newest speed bump.

Waiting Patiently

I feel I did everything right on installing AME. Here are some pictures to show you.

Look at the beginning of the youtube code. I put it on a forum that works and the code stayed the same (Pic 1). In pic two, I put this code on my forum and it change the code and it does not work.

Looks like my pictures did not work well. Anyway, is there any settings in Vbulletin itself I need to change to make AME work? I did change the one forum I want video in to allowing html in posts. It still did not work.

Please, help.

This mod doesn't upload, it embeds. There are definitions available though for locally hosted files by DJ I believe.

Thanks Floris, as an FYI for other users... there is a link in the Tools menu to add the indexes to the additional functional areas in the instance you added AME before you upgraded to 3.7 and/or the blog :)

Hope you like :D

This won't have to do with AME. All AME does is transform your URL into the embed code you would have found on the destination site. What you are talking about is either a flash or a FF issue.

HTHs!

I am not sure what youre trying to do here. This mod doesnt allow you to paste HTML into posts, it allows you to simply paste the URL of the page with the embedded video into your post. AME then converts that safely into the embed code you seem to be pasting. Its much safer, easier and intuitive for your users.

HTHs!

ArnyVee 10-17-2008 04:39 PM

Can you get the videos to sit next to each other rather than only being centered?

I would imagine that you can, but which templates do we use to change that?

Hi

I have installed this Mod, I have updated to the DJ database addon and deleted the other 4 or so ones that came with this Mod.

I want to embed some movies from Pure Pwnage , I have taken some screenshots, I can not get the blip.tv links to embed, can you go over my pic to see what I am doing wrong please?

Thanks in advance.

About a million posts. I've been letting it run for about 19 hours now. Any idea how much longer?

I don't know if this has been mentioned but AME installed great on my 3.8 Beta!!!

Cant really tell from the screenies, but it may be a conflict (i.e. duplicate definitions). Regardless, I cant really help with non default definitions :(

It shouldnt take anything like that amount of time. You can try adding the flag to your posts table ahead of the install. To do so, use phpmyadmin or similar and add a column called ame_flag of type tinyint to your posts table.

Please note that you should backup first.

Any chance you can give me a little more detail how to do this in phpmyadmin? My experience in phpmyadmin is limited although I've had no problems doing things in there with more details.

If I understand this correctly, in the Post table I would be adding a field - does it matter if it is at the beginning or end of the table or after any particular field? I'm guessing that the Field Name would be "ame_flag"? Do I need any values after the Type?

Thanks!

sweeps78 10-20-2008 07:34 PM

okay. I seem to have gotten 2.5 working... somewhat... All of the ame tags that were dead in my forums from running into all of the problems before are now displaying videos, yeah!!:D

But, no new embeds work. URL's don't get converted to the ame tag:(

I have:

Disable New Items -> No
Extract Destination Data -> Yes
Enable File Cache -> Yes (and CHMOD 777 the amecache folder)
Posting, vbBlogs, Social Group & Visitor Message Settings -> Yes

Was there something else that I'm missing?

EDIT: There must have been something wrong with the original file import. I just re-imported the product-ame.xml file and it's working fine now.

sweeps78 10-20-2008 08:09 PM

Sorry for the double post, but this is a totally unrelated question.

I think I may have originally misunderstood this plugin, or assumed something that I shouldn't have. Can we not use this plugin to auto embed images? I thought images were considered "media"?

One other question, any thoughts on adding the vBulletin lightbox feature to a future release? If so, any rough estimate on a timeframe?

sweeps78 10-20-2008 08:44 PM

This is too strange. My members are reporting that the videos just sit with the loading icon (spinny thing in the middle) running when they click play and the videos never play. It works just fine on my computer.

Here's the link to the thread where my members are testing the video plugin:

MonkYZ 10-21-2008 11:29 PM

I'm having trouble with youtube videos lately. Most of them will start in gallery mode and not use high quality. I re-loaded the definitions but i'm getting the same random error (sometimes the videos just play fine). I'll attach a screenshot of what i get when pressing the Play button. I am using 2.02 version.

It's really a matter of practicality. I've considered doing a definition for Photobucket and ImageShack, but most of the time users are going to use embed code as a matter of habit, so that could create conflicts when they post their code. Any definitions would have to be created for specific sites. Essentially, it would likely not be practical.

These are both likely due to YouTube maintanance issues.

Well, i am getting the following error when trying to post videos.

Code:

Warning: include(/kunden[path]/amecachefindonly.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/includes/ame_bbcode.php on line 74

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening '/kunden[path]/amecachefindonly.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php5') in [path]/includes/ame_bbcode.php on line 74

Whats wrong?

shunut 10-24-2008 02:14 PM

Just installed it onto my forum. Works awesome! Very easy to install. I didn't really care for the title and the border that went around it but that was a very, very easy fix.

Thanks a lot!
