No! You will have to use one or the other.

Hello,

I have some questions to ask.

-What database changes will it do if I install?
-Will it edit any of the tables?
-If I unistall, will it return the tables structure as it was before?

  1. The only change to database is this: it add a "field" called "tfseo_key" in the table forum, it is used if you enable the "heavy method" to set you custom forum keyword.
  2. Like over.
  3. Yes, field will be deleted.

Which one do we download? TfSEO 1.1.4.zip or TfSEO 2.0.5.zip?

1. Also if we do install this can we uninstall it and go back to normal? Will our tables be back to normal?

2. What is the difference between light, and medium and heavy versions? What differentiates them?

SHANE-D-PAIN 07-24-2008 05:03 PM

Ignore my post above, the problem fixed itself.

However I have found another problem. Try using usernotes (usernotes.php) and you get sql error...

$tfseo['g'] = tfseo_url_post($thread['forumid'], $thread['threadid'], $post['postid']);
} else if (
$vbulletin->options['tfseo_type'] == 2

while also redirecting my old URLs to the new ones?

Basically, my forum is top of google for some very competitive terms, but the URLS are not really that descriptive. Just numbers like /forum3.html

and so on.

The rewrite rules are modified slightly from an htaccess that was on some forums a couple of years ago...and its worked relatively well.

Except I cant merge threads at present....

Any suggestions? I NEED to do this upgrade but does anyone know how I can 301 my old URLs to the new style ones?

I know it 301s the stock URLs but how can I get it to 301 my current URLS basically without breaking anything>?!!!! :D
thanks

GlitchersCorner 07-25-2008 07:38 PM

superjeff, I did your change to Generate post url and I am still getting an error on usernote.php (/usernote.php?u=2)

mrtylmzzz 07-25-2008 09:40 PM

Your work is easy: tfseo intagrate a powerfull 301 redirect, that copy the htacecss of tfseo over your rules. You shulden't get problem, but try first in local.

Nice job, Superjeff! What would you charge to install this on my forums?

Thanks!

mickknutson 07-26-2008 08:49 PM

1. What is the difference between 1.1.4 and 2.0.5?

2. I could not get 2.0.5 to actually do anything for the site (no rewrite).

3. I uninstalled 2 and installed 1.1.4 then I went into a redirect loop and can't find anything about the error here in my search.

Abonem 07-26-2008 10:24 PM

Help please.

1.) 1.x is the old version with lots of problem
2.) if it don't rewrite, and you have setted the setting, i don't know the problem

I just installed 2.0.5 but have seen no changes?

I installed 2.0.5, but did not make any code modification. Are these code modifications required? or should this work with just installing the files?

I have also installed this and it has done nothing at all!!

I am slightly confused as there is an htaccess in the zip archive

but then under VB options > TFSEo there is this under the 'URl structure' heading...and htaccess at the link there is slightly different to the one in the zip, but neither work!!

I know htaccess is working because my last one had lots and lots of rewrite rules and they worked for 3 years...

These are some premade structure for your urls. Choose your best, and remember that you can do a your simple editing the ./includes/functions_tfseo_type file.

*Use the this HTACCESS, and set the url type to medium.
Any ideas please?

Make sure the mod is enabled in both the Options and under Plugin Manager... For some odd reason the plugin was disabled in Plugin Manager when I installed it.

mickknutson 07-28-2008 01:34 PM

I am very sorry, but I did totally overlook that as all the other plugins I have added automatically enabled themselves.

All is good now.

Can I change this to display:

instead of:

?
