I have been on this thread for 2 hours trying to find what I need. I can only imagine that thats going to get worst when it goes gold, considering this hack ROCKS!

Anyway, all my image paths are not showing, I know ive read the post lol and tryed to implement the sugestions. My buttons and smilies and avatars are showing. Just not hte background images and headers :(

Its prolly something Im missing on my end because I am having difficulty understanding all the diferent sugestions that appear to be for the same issue.

I deff think this hack deserves its own forum :) GREAT JOB! Very impressive!

Other then the slight image issue there was NO errors or troubles installing!! TY

you know your problem was actually addressed in the maze that is this thread and to think you're trying to get rid of it in favour of a whole forum, shame on you :p

nah on a serious note...hold on wait, i'm sure you replied with an update. ok what's the link to the 'this post'? do you still have it?

i just played with your css on my end and finding all instances of
PHP Code:

background-imageurl(/images/junglebook2

and replacing with
PHP Code:

background-imageurl(/forum/images/junglebook2

in order for you to do that on your end for all your users, you'll have to edit the additional css in your AdminCP => Styles & Templates => All Style Options

that'll get most of it working, but to do the rest, you'll actually have to edit the html in the header. tis not too hard.

i'll need to your installation in order to help you with your string replacement.

in your admincp lower the number of random images down to three.

any plans for the forum leader to select an image as the group picture?

I'll repeat this answer in full again as it comes up every so many pages. there's a plugin that allows users the ability to do that, however at present it's unreleased. i have not decided what i want to do with it (sell it, release it for free or fold it into the stock product) yet and i don't even plan to approach a decision on the matter until after i've worked out the kinks out of the core product.

Sorry if this reply seems a little abrupt/hostile, i'm in the middle of debating manga :nervous:

The more link for smilies opens up a list of your buddies in the window....

whitetigergrowl 10-17-2006 03:15 AM

I have 30 groups. It only shows 25 in the categories area. There seems to be no option to see the next page. This is with RC 10.

The forum banner points to the groups, while everything else now points to the forums. Odd. The header image is done as a direct link so I find this odd.

Its also looking for a no avatar.gif for some members. Yet another odd occurance.

Banner: is that something that's always been or just since RC10?

Browse.php: i'll look into the limitation of 25 groups now.

Avatars: they have custom avatars and it's displaying noavatar.gif? i need a bit more info on this one.

I answered your issue bada_bing, i'm unable to replicate the problem. at this moment in time, all i can do it wait and hope that someone else has the same problem so i can find the cause using your common denominators.

sabret00the,

I am very suprized by your responce. just because my site has an issue and related to your hack why should I have to wait for resolution until someone else experiances the same issue. This is like driving a vehicle that has a brake problem and only that vehicle has the issue but no other vehicle does, should the dealer treat you any different :(

Where did you get a vehicle for free?

I hear exactly where you're coming from and if i was in your situation, i'd be more than pissed off. but from my point of view it's not as easy as thinking there's an issue and i know what it is so i know how to fix it. of 90 installs you're the only person to have this issue so i'm at a loss as to what's causing it. i mean if you'd like i can try uploading the membership.php straight from my end see if that helps, but i'm honestly at a loss. i have no idea what is wrong with it or why you're the only person with this problem and i have no idea how to fix what's not broken. honestly the whole waiting for someone who has a similar problem to arise seemed like the best answer to actually finding a real resolution to me.

It's because the session id is messing up the url.
In the navbar, try putting a question mark after the groups/index.php

Like this: groups/index.php?

sabret00the 10-18-2006 03:20 PM

i've begun tweaking membership.php hopefully it will fix your problems bada_bing. i'll post it up here pre-release of RC11 see if that can solve your problems.

Mr Pink 10-18-2006 03:32 PM

It seems great! I will try it. However, I have only a question. I'm italian, so my forum will be in italian language. Ok, I'll found all un-translated pharses in my AdminCp -> Langauge -> Search all untranslated prhases option? If yes: Great!

sabret00the 10-18-2006 03:32 PM

here you go bada_bing

membership.php from RC11

PS, it's actually faster now too :D

It's not fully phrased of of yet, sadly i won't be making the push to fully phrase the project until 2.0.1. Sadly the only phrases present right now are for error messages and redirects.

sabret00the 10-18-2006 04:00 PM

updated that membership.php again, i think i actually found the problem and have it fixed.

sabret00the 10-18-2006 05:03 PM

this is why i hate people moaning at me, talking shit and using words like "disappointed", i go that extra mile and they're no where to be seen.

What you are doing is fantastic. I cannot wait to try this on my board. I am envious of people like yourself. Though I can code in php I'm no where near capable just yet of doing something like this let alone making it available for others to use on their own boards.

You are a positive example to all.

sabret00the 10-18-2006 06:20 PM

New Zip/Release:
Groups v2.0.0 RC11.zip:
fixes a problem with avatars not displaying correctly in thread listing and also optimises the code in membership.php

i know you do, as i appreciate the fact you've installed my work. it's just easy to get tetchy when providing support :)

sabret00the 10-18-2006 08:38 PM

Just done a bit of a silent update, the only difference from the previous groups v2.0.0.zip is that this one bumps the version number displayed at the bottom of pages. i forgot to before so it was still displaying v2.0.0 RC 10 where as it should've said v2.0.0 RC 11. anyway i doubt anyone cares but i done it anyway :)

Guys, i really need actual bugs in today. If i don't get any by 17:00GMT i shall declare gold.

I realised i forgot to put in the fix for the smilie list into RC11 that's in the next release, which i'm hoping is gold, but will end up RC12 pending bug status. anyhow get back to me, ASAP please.
