Funny, I just searched the thread and all I found were the last few messages pertaining to product tms so why don't you just provide the answer instead of telling us to read through 32 pages of content.

It was offered up in many posts:

how many more do you expect the person to spoon feed the community?

so, for a fresh install of 3.6.9 I don't need TMS? I never liked that hack and hope I don't have to use it, because I want to use this one

you do need tms but if you really don't want it then open "product-aws.xml" and find

Code:

<dependency dependencytype="product" parentproductid="tms" minversion="1.0.0" maxversion="" />
remove that line and the import should work

Ok, I can't see the "WARN USER" things too. I did define warning types, post related and non post related. The templates modification were done both with & without using TMS (I kept a copy of my non-modificated template xml file, a copy of the manually modified one and a copy of the TMS modified one, as backups). What should I do? 32 pages is long to read.

what happens when yougo this url

http://www.yourserver.com/forums/War...t&id=member_id

note member_id cannot be an administrator

if you get you don't have permissions you need to setup permissions first (usergroups => usergroupmanager )

I forgot to say that I indeed set the permissions up for admins, supermods and mods. So the link you gave works perfectly.

Delphiprogrammi 09-16-2007 08:57 AM

hi,

You must choose either tms or manual edits if you do both it will confuse the system and mess things up.Also reminder that the tms system only works on templates that have been customized before.You could check if the modifications actually work using the styles & templates => template modifications manager.If something is not working tms will tell you.In that case you will have to manually edit the templates using the instructions found in /docs/readme.txt

No, you didn't get it.

Backup download of my template > manual edit + setup of the hack : nothing
Then deinstalled the plugin, and upload of my backed up template file.
Then TMS + setup of the hack: nothing. TMS says everything works fine.

I didn't used both at once.

I did it, and it doesn't seem to work. Would you mind check on the forums themselves and see what's wrong? I shoot you a pm.

Akex 09-24-2007 05:50 PM

I don't know if it was mentionned but there is a mistake in vb options for this product :

When you decide to choose if you use Text or button link, the value stored in database is not "Text" or "Buttons" but "All" or "own" ... So you can't see the link in postbit ... Quite confusing ...

agreed that is quite annoying and confusing i will check that

edit

just checked and you're right

[SQL]
SELECT * FROM setting WHERE varname='warn_textbutoption';
[/SQL]

the optioncode for that option should be

HTML Code:

<select name=\"setting[$setting[varname]]\" tabindex=\"1\" class=\"bginput\">
<option value=\"0\" " . iif($setting['value']=='0','selected="selected"') . ">Buttons
</option>
<option value=\"1\" " . iif($setting['value']=='1','selected="selected"') . ">text</option></select>

is there some way to import the warnings given from the Smith warning system into this one?

No but i have been thinking about something like this to be honest i'm just scared to screw up people databases :o

Pcparts 09-26-2007 01:48 PM

thanks :)

I want to start using a different system, now that the visionsscripts is no longer operational and all the mods are abandoned.

The smithwrning system came with an import script, so maybe you can make something similar? :)

I'll see if I can come up with something myself.

Ever since vB 3.6.8, this MOD has been giving me the following error :

What code causes the buttons/text for mods and admins to warn a user appear? I viewed a user's profile to test the new warning system and the link didn't appear. I viewed a post and the link didn't appear there either. I don't think I missed anything in the readme, but it very well could have happened. Everything else appears fine (for now), just need to be able to have these buttons appear. Otherwise, I can only view the user's options and perform a non-post related warning.

I thought I was just going crazy. Yeah, that's the same for me, the buttons don't show up. Not only that, but my vB is going nuts with a bunch of errors that disappear after I disable the AWS.

Thanks for that, but it still doesn't display a link or button. I'm using a separate style other than vB's default, not sure if that is causing the problem. If you could point out what code will display the links/buttons, I'll see if I can figure it out.

(Times like these I wish I learned php, unfortunately I'm only a Classic ASP/ASP.Net programmer ;))

I'm guessing AWS 3.6.9 isn't compatible with vB 3.6.8? Because I just installed a fresh new vBulletin and immediately installed AWS.

I get the

Strange, I have the same version and everything seems to work so far except for displaying the links to view warning and give warnings. These links don't appear in either the user profile or the post. However, I can see the Give Warning (Non-Post related) and View Warnings links from the User Options link.:confused:

Delphiprogrammi 10-01-2007 04:38 AM

you still need to apply the fix i mentioned earlier and you have to add at least one warningtype of each kind before the links / buttons will show up (post related / non post related) also remember the tms system only works on templates that have custimized you will have to manually edit the templates for each style you use if you can't get this to work

I applied the fix as you suggested, but still no luck. I do have warnings of both types as well.

What I did notice, however, is that when I go to Admin CP -> VBulletin Options -> vBulletin Advanced Warning System and I scroll way to the bottom, where it says "Use textual links of buttons", it displays "Error" where the radio buttons would be.

So perhaps if I can get that fixed, then I will stop having these issues. But, when I go to Admin CP -> Advanced Warning System -> Manage Warning Options, the drop down box with Text/Button properly appears.

So it looks correct in one section (after the fix was applied) but not in the other.

Delphiprogrammi 10-02-2007 08:32 PM

damn it looks like that tms system is causing more trouble then it offers advantages i will look into that

Delphiprogrammi 10-03-2007 11:12 AM

hi folks,

I found the problem with the missing warning controls that is fixed and i will the update the package when i'm done updatig the instructions.

The tms system has been removed from this hack as it whas causing a lot more problems then advantages ... The downside is that you will have to manually edit each template(s) for all style(s) you use on your forum

bosal 10-05-2007 11:29 AM

is this hack better than included in vb infraction system ?

Cool, I'd like to begin using this since I went through all the work of modifying the templates. I'll keep checking back for the update. Thanks

No i just find it easier to work with but that's my personal opinion you can use both if you like doesn't make much sense but they will not conflict

Wait, found something...I set all of the "Additional Restrictions" to 2 warnings before avatars, signatures, etc begin to be cut off, and it cuts if off for everyone, regardless if they have warnings or not.

EDIT:

Just a request: currently, when you're using the AWS, it doesn't update the user's last activity. It states, "Unknown Location:" and then the URL. Perhaps you could make it say something like "Using Advanced Warning System" or something like that.

Magnumutz 10-14-2007 10:47 AM

I also found a bug i could say... I've added the code in the postbit_legacy, to show the warned posts, but it doesn't show them.

This post was supposed to be warned, and i can't see it... if i remove this <if>, i can see ALL the posts like they were warned:
PHP Code:

<if condition="$showwarnsignmgm==1"

http://haste-network.net/guild-hall-...html#post30993

Delphiprogrammi 10-16-2007 09:54 AM

you must choose who can see that in the settings

it should already do that

PHP Code:

if($filename == 'Warn.php')
{

$userinfo['activity'] = 'warning_area';

PHP Code:

if ($userinfo['activity'] == 'warning_area')
{

$userinfo['where'] = "<a href=\"Warn.php{$vbulletin->session->vars['sessionurl_q']}\">" $vbphrase['aws_warning'] . "</a>";

$userinfo['action'] = $vbphrase['aws_usingaws'];

$handled true;
