I know of a site that is using images instead of text but I can't get the administrator to tell me how he coded it or if he used an additional mod to accomplish it.

I don't understand how a coder can create such a great mod but not be able or willing to ad such a awesome feature like we are requesting.

Are there any coders out there that could help folks like me in getting the text replaced with images?

It would be really nice. I spent quite some time installing this mod and would like to use it with images.....

csoroner 12-07-2008 07:09 PM

I have found away to place an image next to the prefix by adding the following code in the Prefix HTML Markup (within forums) box:
Quote:

<img src="http://yourdomain.com/motd/steam.png" alt="Steam Updates" />
The problem now is that all my prefixes no matter what I name them will have the same image next to the title?

It also displays the alt description "Steam Updates" next to the title which I want to remove so only the image appears.

My goal is to create various images for each forum based on the type of thread. When an allowed user selects a prefix from the drop down menu, an image only will appear next to the title of their post.

I'm sorry if I didn't explain this before in more detail but it's getting very fustrating and I know of at least one site that has exactly what I'm referring to.

Can someone please help me with this. I have spent many, many hours attmpting to accomplish this task but I keep coming up short.

Anyone's assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

csoroner 12-16-2008 03:49 AM

Never mid. Upgraded to 3.7.4.

Technoviking 12-17-2008 09:14 PM

Anyone figure out how to make the prefixes appear in a portal? Using CMPS.

Thanks in advance.

swisscotton 01-11-2009 02:21 PM

I have just installed this (in fact i have gone over it a few times now) and I cannot see anything different. Where is the prefix? I have gone over it three times and I don?t appear to have missed anything out.

My forum: www.goldenbunnies.org.uk

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be.

3.8.x has its own prefix implementation.

I'm not aware that Vbulletin has a feature like this.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/04/7.png

I want to add tags to the title like this.

Does this plugin provides that?

NEED HELP PLEASE! I have installed it, but me, nor my moderators, can access threadprefix.php! can someone please help me?

Is there any way to create a permanent link to the results of a Prefix Search?

The XML for the prefix search functionality uses some kind of override on a User Search when a certain string is present to search for prefixes instead. If you just input the string manually, though, (like via a do=process search to make a permanent link!) it seems to fail to execute the override correctly and returns search results of every single thread on your forum.

This has an added debilitating side effect of creating a broken searchid result, and then when you try to search for your Prefixes the proper way (through the dropdown box) it doesn't make it to the override because it sees the search has already been done recently and pulls up the result with every thread on your forum.

I don't have the slightest clue about editting any of the XML or anything, but it's starting to seem like creating a permanent do=process link to Prefix Search results isn't possible with how it's currently written.

Hi. Excellent hack, but is there any way to use small button-style images instead of plaintext? Thanks in advance.

twgogo 02-24-2010 10:22 AM

Mystics 02-24-2010 10:38 AM

vB 4 has a built-in prefix system.

contemptx 05-04-2010 06:21 PM

Hi,

I'm just wondering if someone could help me. It's been nagging me for days and unable to find a resolvement.

I'm trying to get my Prefixes to look like this; http://i43.tinypic.com/5urbd0.jpg

but, it's not working out like that, as this is what I'm getting; http://i44.tinypic.com/4t93tl.jpg

I really would love someone to help. I'm on 3.8.1

gobears94 06-11-2010 02:22 PM

Is there a way to get screenshot #3 for VB4? That way, it would be easier to manage thread prefixes rather than the one page manager currently available on VB4?

Also, if I have a lot of thread prefixes, what is the best way to handle it in the search form?

Sean James 07-01-2010 03:26 PM

Also wondering if there is a way to add a drop down search box to forumdisplay to search prefixes. Willing to pay to get this done.

Yes but you prefix mod is by far superior.
You can sort by prefix, there is a prefix column, you can filter by prefix with an add-on etc

Could you please repost the instructions for this mod for 3.8 please?

Wonksta 02-24-2011 10:17 PM

Can this work in combination with the inbuilt prefix system of 3.8.6. If so this could really supplement the current prefix system of the 3.8.6 board.

root2012 02-25-2013 04:23 AM

as we could to the prefix column hinbekommen in vb 4 in the post because I want to have something

Jesakos 04-09-2013 08:58 AM

Wajow-community 02-04-2014 02:01 AM

Can this update to vbulletin 4.2.1?

ozzy47 02-04-2014 02:05 AM

The developer has not marked it as re-usable, so only he can do it. Or someone would have to code it from scratch.

mangmel 01-18-2016 10:24 AM

need this for 4xx
