check again. I have it installed, but it's not working. I was supposed to upload the .xml file into the admincp folder on my ftp page, right? I did that, but don't see anything different or any place to check it out on my adminCP page of vBilletin. What is the path I can find it on?

haha...

No, you import it in your admin cp.
Then you click the install button on the first post to show up as installed. ;)

Nope.

Unzip the XML and import into vB using the ACP Product Manager.

Thanks Paul! :)

Has anyone tried it with 3.6.5 yet?

djbaxter 03-02-2007 05:49 PM

It's fine. There are no template changes from 3.64 to 3.65.

Every 3.6.4 will work on 3.6.5

Sorry. I did it 5 times for all of my mods. Next time I'll pm the programmers for assistance. I just thought since there was a vb update and no body bothered to ask, I might as well be the first one so everyone can benefit.

You might want to check signatures first ;)

Alright, I'm really pissed off here. As soon as I imported this product into my forums, my "Most ever online" totals were all reset to "1, 12-31-1969 at 07:00 PM". WTF gives? Is there anyway to restore them? If not, that really disappoints me and this hack basically screwed everything up. :mad:

Did you backup your database before installing? If so, just wipe out you DB and restore with the copy. If you didn't backup the DB prior to installing...well...

No I didn't because I didn't think it was necessary for a basic add on such as this (upgrading the forums is a different story).

I know it's a little late now, but I'd get in the practice of backing up your DB before you install ANY modifications. No matter how small, or how basic you may think a mod is - back-up your DB before installing.

I wish I could help you with this...

This did no such thing, those totals are stored in the datastore, there is no code in this modification that touches the datastore. I suggest you look elsewhere for your problem. Most likely you have some code written for vb3.5 that you are running on vb3.6.

Hey tard. Did you happen to use the search feature? Obviously not, or you would have seen on page 6 this post: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....8&postcount=79

Run these queries. If one doesn't fix it, the other will....

Code:

update datastore set unserialize = 1 where title = 'maxloggedin'
Code:

update datastore set unserialize = 1,data = ' ' where title = 'maxloggedin'

You're right, I did. Am I the only one who was running that 3.5 version add on before installing this? I could of used a heads up on that but hell, I learned a lesson from this and will always run a BU before hand.

Actually, the following update e-mail was sent to everyone who had that mod marked as installed (on Nov 11th 2006). :)

This is just a reminder to anyone who has this 3.5 modification installed.

If you upgrade to vbulletin 3.6 you MUST disable this modification first, and when you have upgraded, replace it with the 3.6 version found here ;

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=122425

If you do not do this, running the 3.5 version on a 3.6 forum will most likely corrupt your max users dates & values.

Also, if upgrading, I would advise you to upgrade to the 3.6 versions of 'visitors today', 'posters today' and 'members in flashchat' that you may have installed (this is an add-on to those three mods).

hi,
i need your help,

i installed the modification and i could not make it work!!

</tbody>
<!-- end logged-in users -->
</if>
<tbody>

can I install this modification manually??

Thanks in advance

Paul M 03-05-2007 10:46 AM

What do you mean by install 'manually' ?

Would it be possible to update this hack so that you can fake an amount of users to look like they're online?

Paul M 03-05-2007 10:52 AM

No, that will never be a feature.

deezelpope 03-05-2007 10:53 AM

Installed and loving it! Thanks much!

Thanks for your reply..

I meant that: is there any way to check that the this product is installed properly?

I found this code in the index.php:
</tbody>
<!-- end logged-in users -->
</if>
<tbody>

Will the product work? how can I check? specially that it does not work...

Can I add the required code by opening the index.php and paste it some where?

thanks again

Paul M 03-05-2007 11:24 PM

If you can see it listed in your plugin and product managers then I would say it's installed properly.

That code you posted is not in index.php, it's in the forumhome template.

If you have not touched the options then it should be visible to anyone. If it isn't then most likely you have a faulty mod installed that is breaking your hook system - turn off all your other products/plugins and see if it works.

Faten_west 03-06-2007 01:30 PM

thanks a lot:)

Done!!

PinkDaisy 03-06-2007 05:47 PM

I have this on our forum and it works correctly, but the number of active users don't show up. Any idea why??

Paul M 03-06-2007 08:53 PM

You have customised the phrase at some point - revert it back to the default.

GruntHalo 03-06-2007 09:39 PM

thank you this is really useful :)

iamboard 03-07-2007 06:32 PM

I would like to display the actual number of users in another location in my template. Can someone tell me exactly what code to insert in another spot in my template to provide the the actual number of users who have visited in the last 24 hours?

I just want to have the number appear in another location. What code should I insert?

Thank you

Paul M 03-07-2007 11:39 PM

$ftotaltoday

Paul M,

Thanks. If I insert $ftotaltoday into the header or footer nothing shows. If I try a test and insert it in a second time into display_visitors it shows a second time...so I know it works. But what do I need to do to get it to show in the header as placing it there by itself does not seem to work?

Paul M 03-08-2007 09:46 AM

You didn't mention header or footer :) - you can't do that as the code only runs on the forumhome.

trickfly 03-09-2007 04:41 PM

I'm having some difficulty, it must be such a noob error.

I imported the XML template fine.

I went onto the 'who has visited today' option in VB options in the admin panel.

Everything in there looks fine, its all on yes etc...

But it won't show up?! I can't see it anywhere on my fourm

My site is:

www.TrickFly.com

Can someone please help.

Please PM me or email me at: jhakim65@hotmail.com

Thanks,
James

Paul M 03-09-2007 07:34 PM

It's designed to appear in the standard "What Going On" area of the forumhome - you appear to have a totally customised forumhome, which has no such section.

trickfly 03-09-2007 08:34 PM

I do have a "What Going On" area on the forumhome, its at the footer of the page.

Paul M 03-10-2007 10:36 AM

Sorry, I mistook your "home" page for the forumhome page.

The problem is basically still the same - you have heavily customised the page and altered the WGO area - removing the html comment (<!-- end logged-in users -->) that this looks for.

vuiveclub 03-11-2007 09:29 PM

Hi Paul,

can you add "show Friends (buddy) who has visited"?

I don't know how to say. :D
