For some reason, as an admin, I get a

Quote:

Sorry! You have exceeded your daily allowed download amount.
Message. Now I checked the Usergroupd permissions, and for all my usergroups, they are -1. I even tried entering "9999999999" for an amount. I still get that message.

Now I log out, and I can download ok. It's wierd. I searched for this limit error, and I didn't come up with any results.

Anyone have any tips or things I can check?? It appears to be my admin usergroup. And my usergroup permissions are set up, I even tried to cycle them to a huge number. Still get that error..

Any tips?

Rebuild the bitfields: admincp/index.php?do=buildbitfields. I think that will fix it.

You are correct! The file that gets copied to ec_tmp is okay. However, when you try to download it via this module, it comes down as a 1k file. I'm not sure why!!!

BUT - I do have a work around. In admicp->downloads->settings, enter the extensions you allow for upload in "Open File Directly in Browser" field. They will then download correctly.

Now, why does your site have that behavior while no one else does???

westpointer question is there anyway to remove the side block when they are on the file page?

DementedMindz 09-29-2006 07:21 PM

nevermind found it :) was adding adsense to the downloads page :) instead of having the top contribs.

Oke, no problem, as long as I know it will be looked at in due time, I'm quite satisfied and I can wait. Thanks!

1. What template would I need to edit to remove these images?

2. Biggest one. How would I center this inside the static forum width so it doesn't spill over the edge?

3. What template would I need to edit to change this from "tcat" to "thead"?

1) I think you need to edit the downloads.php file for that.
3) It's in the downloads_file template

Find:
HTML Code:

Maybe you have an old version of GD library?

From this doc page: http://us3.php.net/imagecreatefromgif
Quote:

Note: GIF support was removed from the GD library in Version 1.6, and added back in Version 2.0.28. This function is not available between these versions.

Look in the downloads.php... some of the stuff are not in the templates.

cash7c3 10-01-2006 08:52 PM

i have no idea what i was talking about right there with the version, i am running php version 4.4.4

does that help at all figuring out what is wrong?

Edit: Further investigation has shown me that my host has failed to install the php gd library on my server and that must be the problem. I am going to get in contact with them and get that fixed.

Thanks for the help HappyPike if this works you definently put me on the right direction i completely overlooked the gd library.

Hel_Sir 10-03-2006 05:19 AM

In what files do I need to edit? Find in MEMBERINFO find in POSTBIT. Just bhad my first install of vbulletin so not too familiar with files etc. Running with the ambience_x theme. Also, is it possible to integrate DownloadsII more with the portal (vbportal)? Like have top 5 downloads, last added files on the portal.
Also one important thing missing (or I not found yet..), notify an admin when a file is uploaded and ready to be approved? Right now, I a few times a day hit update counter to see if something needs to be approved, got to be another way and e-mail notification would be very usefull..

Oh I'm running vbulletin 3.6.1

That would be a nice option, I would like to second that request.

Hel_Sir 10-03-2006 04:24 PM

Yeah would be nice indeed, but more important for me at least is the integration with vBportal.. Have like top5 downloaded files on the side, 10 latest uploads with the descriptionfield and such in the main window above or below the latest forum threads. Any way to do this?

Arjan 10-04-2006 04:13 PM

Great mod.
Just one question.
When I upload I get a Javasript error that "length" is empty or not an object. (line 260). (Internet Explorer)
The script runs fine, but it scares off users. Any way to solve this problem?

That's very easy :)

Just create a new usergroup for x amount of posts with a promotion to it when they reach the amount of posts. Then you just give that usergroup permissions for the downloads ;)

Arjan 10-05-2006 08:18 AM

I've got two requests:

1: A possability to have the download function check the referrer, if it's not my own site then deny the download or redirect to some annoying image. In my case I meet more then once that some sites happily offer the files hosted at my site. I could block that by allowing only members to download. But for now I do not wish to do that.
2: At the upload page show the maximum upload size as set in the PHP.ini.

AyeCapn 10-05-2006 06:39 PM

One of my users is getting an error of "maximum load reached"

I've searched the thread and didn't find it. Anyone know what that is about?

Black Tiger 10-05-2006 10:13 PM

Did you check your usergroup settings? De last 2 settings are max. amount of files and max amount of kb or mb to download per day.
Maybe that setting is the troublemaker.:)

AyeCapn 10-06-2006 01:43 PM

That was it. I ahve several differnt user-joinable group to access different areas of teh forum. A couple of them had those two values set to 0 for some reason.

All is right again in the universe :)

FYI - have an absolute path to my downloads directory working fine. No "." in the path for me :)

dragonhart 10-06-2006 01:55 PM

The path should be relative to your forums folder. So, if you have forums/downloads the path would be "./downloads/" (without the quotes). If the path is at the same level as your forums directory (for example, www/forums and www/downloads), the path would be "../downloads/" (again without the quotes).

DementedMindz 10-06-2006 05:28 PM

westpointer on the Download Delay is there anyway to make that per usergroup? this way say you have a donators usergroup they can bypass it?

Hi, thanks for your reply, I have the downloads as where the instructions told me to put it, it is in the forums directory, meaning forums/downloads and the forums is in the main cms directory meaning www.dida.com/forums/downloads
so in the admin section of downloads, the url is ./downloads/ and the minute I click on teh navbar downloads in vb I get the download.php page but at the top it says downloads directory dosent exits, and if I try to upload well it just gives db errors pertaining to not finding the directory. I tryed to put an absolute url meaning /var/www etc etc to the downloads with no avail. this is very perplexing as I have a basically reasonable knowlege of linux, and php, but this one has me stumped....anything else for info would be appreciated. Thanks....twalls admin mobildesigns.com...
ps....hoping im not embarrasing myself hehehe but probably something stuipd...

dragonhart 10-06-2006 10:41 PM

Ok, hows this for weird, uninstalled redid the install, as a default install, and got it to work with uploading only a .zip file, if I try to upload a .gif .png or say a .gz it says I can only upload the files .zip .rar etc the same extensions found in the admin panel, but won't let me upload any .gif or png files. I have the downloads directory chmod'ed to 777 so sheesh whats going on....twalls aka Dragonhart

Daky 10-07-2006 12:13 AM

I asked earlier about category images that they are bellow category name
same as on your example:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1154030030

is it possible to put it beside category name or even to replace the name with image only?

Thank you

I still can't figure out this black table problem.

Can anyone help me out, it happens to every table.

Only on this version.

dragonhart 10-07-2006 12:18 AM

Ok got the files for file extensions to upload no problem now and no more db errors about not finding the downloads directory the final problem is any zip file over 900 k wont upload, and yes I have edited the php.ini to 200Megs and restarted the apache server, but to no avail, what else could be stopping it from uploading even a moderate size file???

Dragonhart
