For all of you that are interested this works for 3.5 with a few minor modifications.
In the newattachmentbit you now change the code to:

I can not get this to work in 3.5, the bb code shows the player, i can upload the file, but the player dont appera just a link to the file..

I want it played inline and I want avi, mpeg, etc.. video files.. any ideas?

Attachment shows up ok and opens, but the embeded bbcode does not provide a player in the post??

Please make sure you've followed each detail of the instructions. It's hard to tell from that description but you will want to make sure that your template changes were applied.

Right, that's the one. You applied the bbcode and it shows up right in the admin CP after you added it?

yes bbcode shows up in admin.
