I'm a php / mysql idiot - can anyone tell me how to add Sort By Date to the sort dropdown?

As a quickie, I just want to say again how much I appreciate this hack and the additional help. This should have been 'built in', in my opinion, it is that important and relevant to so many of us with forums where attachments are an important part.

I've not made much of a change to thumbnails so I'm a bit doubtful still, but I will keep trying :)
