I am not sure if I speak for others but, I am sick of hearing about XenForo. ....Good luck to you I applaud the makers of XenForo for branching out on your own, but this is still a vbulletin hack discussion board....Why allow free advertisement for XenForo on an official vbulletin hack site?

Take this discussion to their forum.....

Agreed :) and Voted , and yes lol the persons who has made this Xenforo , are the same persons responsible for designing the interface of vb4 , which created the mess :) lol

They were responsible of the failure of the product at the first place. And also revolting under companies who have sacked up after your failure and then making one of their own is for me a disgrace :)

No they're not. You have no idea what you're talking about. vBulletin 4's failure is solely the fault of IB management. People are quick to talk bad about Kier or any of the old developers, when they don't realize IB is behind everything that goes on w/vBulletin. Kier had no say in what direction vB was going in, he lost that beginning with vB 3.7.

Or commercial modifications for that matter yet this thread discussing what is going to be sold around the same price ranges of IPB and vB etc is still open and going. I'm actually thrilled to see something new but other than that I'm not here to bad mouth it either but there's some facts that I see from my point of view.

The facts are this:

vBulletin is out now, thousands use it, some bugs, active site, active modifications, known ways to customize and style.
xenForo is not out now (released for purchase etc), only 1,464 members the other night and I can bet you money someone, somewhere out of all those 1400+ or more when they buy it up will have a bug, there will be at least one bug and I can imagine more. It's being tested in one (or maybe a few but not nearly in the scope of vB not for a while will it be imo) evironment not thousands. Many who have issues I reply to here on vb.org an on vb.com have issues due to how their Host has the server configured or them for that matter or simply not remembering they had done tons of things to their forums over time without cleanup and that's why something went wrong etc yet all this time vBulletin was the bad guy, there's more misconceptions than bugs for the love of whatever you believe in.

Breather people, we can all talk the talk now but until you walk the walk with product in hand your quick wit, humor, or all out smart-arse remarks are pointless including your logic unless you come in this thread directly after my post and say "I'm beta testing, it's marvelous and your wrong" then you don't have one leg to stand on and I'll still want to see the URL but then guess what... the old saying goes "I'd have to see it to believe it" and I'm a coder I want to see files not source code. Just to be clear as some will read this entire statement the wrong way for the love of... again, I'm not against xF but I do think this thread has slightly bent the rules here and I can't even get a reversed infraction to disappear off my usercp info here :p What Marco? Shoot me in the foot later it's 5am here I've been coding all night :o and well that's just how I feel :(.

One thing that it is starting to annoy me at xenforo community is the growing fanboyism of some members there who get all worked up if someone so much as dares to express an opinion that doesn''t agree with their view of xenforo.

Like someone says I will pay 1000 bucks for a xenforo license because that is how much it is worth to me and I say, hey, to me it is not worth that much and then the xenfan boy gets all tough behind the pc with insults etc. Or like in the case of PaulM who is expressing his idea about something and someone says to him "Are you here just to provoke people? Because from your previous posts i can conclude that you aren't going to be buying a license."

Is anyone else getting irritated by those you know what kissers over there or is it just me :D

I thought it was just me. They announced the upcoming release at a special price for just 24 hours. Since they do not have a way to subscribe to a forum on that xenForo script, I suggested an email notification. I was told that I must come to the site every day

When I complained about that, since I am a busy person, the crowd of kissers, including the developers got nasty and told me to subscribe to Facebook, Twitter or to RSS. My God! It really felt strange having to go to other means just to get a notification. When I said so, and replied to that fan kisser, the developers got upset, closed that thread and deleted my posts. And believe me, there was nothing nasty in the posts.

That sort of attitude got me wondering. Do Kier and Mike have something to do with vB current problems? That sort of God like attitude, refusing to listen to legitimate complaint and taking the Take it or Leave it attitude (Twitter, Facebook or RSS) got me shaking my head.

Seems to me this is a prelude of things to come.

I agree with the above... I wish XF the best, I really do, but it's not a good sign so many are so full of XF already- only 2 things can happen at this point:
1) They will be disappointed because nothing could live up to unrealistic expectations
OR
2) they will make excuses for every bug/security issue/missing feature and why it isn't a problem for XF but if VB had the same issue they'd be complaining here.

If I happen to check in on the special 24 hour discount price day I'll prob grab a license just for the hell of it... but otherwise I doubt I will be getting one anytime soon.

Exactly! There are going to be some hard lessons learned with that situation, I am sure. I think the negative posts that have been written about vb4 will look like praise compared to what will ultimately be written there.

I completely agree with above. I did sign up at that site, and everyone there seems like they know each other from somewhere, just like a tight band of friends.

Anything can look great when you've got friends blindly praising it. It is certainly nice to have another bulletin board software alternative around and extra competition, but from what I've seen it's not up to all the hype and certainly not ready for my live forum (yet).
