I'm just coming to the end of an experiment I ran skimlinks for 2 weeks and i'm just coming to the end of 2 weeks with viglink, unless something comes through over the next week to increase the revenue from viglink it wil not beat the revenue from skimlinks.

I migrated from Driving revenue to Viglink and from what the dashboard is saying its much better. Couple of questions though...
Given I migrated, I previously had the code stripped into my template manually, does this download above just do the same thing? Am I ok staying on what Im on? Secondly, I noticed you can potentially get paid for commissions on ebay sales, saw this at the bottom of the dashboard. How do I get paid for this? I ask as it shows some people buying items that were linked via my site yet no comissions? My site is ausjeepoffroad.com |
ebay commissions were broken and I dropped 90% in revenue from Driving Revenue. Did this get fixed?
Skimlinks is a worthless joke. I was making like $1 per day. |
Question VigLink, if someone clicks one of your links, but they buy a different product at that time, will you still earn a commission or do they have to buy the specific product to be able to earn that commission?
Also lets say the person clicks the link but they don't buy the product now, but they end up buying it on a later time, do you still get commission for the original referral? Thanks in advance! |

Some of the sites for viglink you have to manually send them an email to get approved for but there is no list to tell you which ones. I had to do it for ebay, then I checked walmart and saw that also wasn't covered so I just disabled it. Who knows what merchants you get covered for and which ones you don't. They should be upfront about this or at least have a list that tells you which ones you are approved for. See for yourself.. go to http://www.viglink.com/tools/coverage and type in http://www.ebay.com You will get: "That merchant is covered, but not for everyone. Links from your site will not be affiliated unless access has been granted by the merchant. If you'd like to request access, please email us." Viglink, please make it easier to see which merchants are covered. |
Wow. I"m glad I read this thread. That's why my revenue dropped. It's eBay. E-mail sent!

Installed but encountering huge headaches with the Viglink IRS form - unless this is filled in properly I understand that Viglink will make no payments, correct? I'm based in Europe, as an individual rather than a corporation (W-8 ECI ??). I have to fill in the address for American business and tax id number on the Viglink IRS form... are these details supposed to be Viglink business details? If so, please post a link so I know I input them correctly. I am completely unfamiliar with the US tax system and have never had to fill out anything like this before with other affiliate programs. A quick dummies guide through would be helpful.
Thanks in advance, D |
I'd get in touch with viglink as I'm not sure how the US tax reporting would be for a European company. If you talk to Julian, tell him Samir says hi. :)
