This is absolutely NOT true. HTML should never be enabled on a public forum. If you find you need to enable it for a BB Code to work right there is something wrong with either your setup or the BB Code.

I've said it more than once in this thread- there is no reason anyone should be using this version of the BB Code. The "Alternate" version the author links to is far superior in functionality AND security.

Also in that thread we've found that removing the <divs> completely from the bbcode solved display issues users were having with newer versions of vBulletin 4.x. The divs really aren't needed.

My point exactly. But, why even have an "enable html" option if it is such a security risk? vBulletin should take that out of the code if the risk is too high. Doesn't really make sense to keep it.

Some people run vBulletin on private servers where you can trust every registered member. They might want that option. My warning applies to people who run publicly accessible forums.
