I have the same issue.
How do I delete it? All I see is Enable (I disabled it) or Edit from the dropdown.

You should enable debug mode in vBulletin's config.php to be able to delete it.

worked once I deleted the htaccess file in the data folder. How is Google supposed to access the sitemap with that there?! I quote: "deny from all"

You should submit forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz link, not forums/vbseo_sitemap/data/sitemap_index.xml.gz

You should disable Text sitemap option, remove *.gz files from data/ folder and regenerate sitemap.
