Compared with ipb - vBulletin is tons better, not only for Forum Administrator but for the end user as well - I think ipb is a really sloppy forum application - it just seems to have a few ajax modifications implemented, but it's not quite as feature-rich as vB in my opinion. And of course you can always hack your board to take out the inline tables - of course your current style shows that you've done that already, but who's to say that's better than the 3.7 release (which I personally - along with an entire Community of board owners think is FABULOUS) :)

Jacquii.

btw - what IS your Forum about anyway? Just curious as I see Poe, Woolf & Ginsberg have a nice premiere spot on your homepage = interesting - I just don't read the language....

It is obvious that you donot understand what you read at all.

The only thing i compared vBulletin and Ipb is the profile options. You probably donot know about Ipb profiles thats why go and check them. If we are talking about Social Networking Users profiles must be the main focus and their profile must show their contribution to site. Thats why Blog integration must develop , thats why with a tab user created threads , users posts must be integrated.

My site is about literature , philosophy , rock and metal music , the language is turkish

Events are one of the most underestimated but absolutely essential part of the contemporary SN community. People are trying to relate their online life to a real one. Facebook is a living proof of that. I actually am surprised they are the only ones who came up to this. ))

Blog integration hasn't even been implemented yet. That tab is just a place holder. The blog addon has to be updated to handle integration, it isn't controlled by vBulletin. ;)

I had presumed we'd get our hands on it on Monday. How long does it usually take.

Depends on what is found in a live environment.

Why do some of you think some mods have to be re-written for vb3.7? Seems to me that there are not much changes but many additions like new hooks etc, but they wont prevent the existing mods from working, eh?

Paul M 11-27-2007 08:02 PM

I would expect most mods to work in 3.7 - but a lot should be rewritten - either to make use of new hooks, or in many cases to make use of template hooks.

Many useful new features, some like the groups are really awesome for social networking ;)
