You folks do realize that Mystics doesn't support this hack and he hasn't posted here for a long time.

Can someone help me understand why my moderation column does not work for any forums unless they are using the thread prefix?

Hi,
have anyone fixed the Bug with the search ?

firstrebel 11-10-2006 03:45 PM

I have upgraded my 3.6.2 test site to 3.6.3 and have just tried to reinstall this. When I ran /prefixinstall.php and started with the file changes I got a strange result as you will see in the attachment. The replacement text is missing.

Has anyone else found this.

Or....is this an IE7 issue as I have recently upgraded that.

Hi,
i think it´s a Problem of IE7

blankoboy 11-17-2006 01:54 AM

I would really like to install this hack on my 3.6.3 board with GARS but after seeing how many issues people are having I am somewhat apprehensive.

Mystics, any chance you will come back into the fold and update/support this hack? Please atleast let us know either way. :)

* Also, does anyone know if the prefixes used in vbulletin.org are generated using this hack or perhaps some other?

Bug: If in forum ID, where turned on this hack, thread not have thread prefix so... when we browse main forum page (home page) we can see at column Last post this thread name + prefix from first thread in forum. Thread without prefix are sticky and for this thread on forum home page will add prefix from first thread in this forum that have prefix. So, on main page this hack add prefix, but currently this thread doesn't have prefix.

Future suggestions:
1) add AJAX prefix change when browse forumdisplay.php (like we can change thread title with mouse double click)
2) store all prefix names in DB. And if we rename one prefix this changes will automatically apply for all threads that have this prefix
3) ability to customize which prefixes can be used/displayed for which forums ID. It's need for faster page loading. For example: I have around 50 prefixes, but at some forum ID I will use just 2-3 prefixes and other prefixes not needed. At this moment, this hack display all prefixes and it's increase page size and page loading.

PS: I'll be happy if it be done in one of future versions of this hack :) If not, I'll must uninstall this hack and do this prefixes manually :(

problem when i install, there no step 4 and 5 below,

4. New templates:
threadprefix_listbit
threadprefix_modify

5. New phrases:
Too many to list them all - they will be created automatically while importing the xml file

Any of you hoping to see this mod officially to vbulletin, please come over here and cast a vote!

I find this mod to be of such great use to vbulletin forums that I am saddened to see it is not being updated nor supported any longer. I wish the VB team would take it under their wing and integrate it into VB.

A few days ago i update to VB 3.6.3. So i try to update also the prefix hack.
- Uploading the files is no problem.
- Install the Product.xml is also no problem.

But running the install script abort with the following error:

Code:

Warnung: main(): Unable to access /var/www/web0/html/vbTest/Admincp/prefixinstall_text.php in /admincp/prefixinstall.php (Zeile 21)

Warnung: main(/var/www/web0/html/vbTest/Admincp/prefixinstall_text.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /admincp/prefixinstall.php (Zeile 21)

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/var/www/web0/html/vbTest/Admincp/prefixinstall_text.php' (include_path='.') in /var/www/web0/html/vbTest/admincp/prefixinstall.php on line 21

I figure out the path is not correct.

Wrong: /var/www/web0/html/vbTest/Admincp/prefixinstall_text.php
Right: /var/www/web0/html/vbTest/admincp/prefixinstall_text.php

so what do i wrong?

in the config.php the admin cp Variable is setting to admincp in lower case, so where they get the uppercase?

Edit: So, now i edit the prefixinstall.php, hardcode the path and now works.
