So is this hack dead?

Awwww... :( This was exactly what we were looking for too...I hope he comes back and updates it for 3.7...

Shmaba 09-06-2008 01:55 PM

Wow this does look great but too bad it was never updated. Ill tell you I would donate 75.00 plus for this mod! If it was good. The only one thing I would request is that there would be a option link when creating a thread to either have a normal thread created or ebay style, similar to when you start a poll.

What I think, in total - that would set this off is:

1. Personalised PM, maybe with the use of "$Hello $user_username". (both Buyer & Seller)
2. The PM to the seller would include the username of the buyer and the end price of auction.
3. The ability for the seller - Up until 24 hours or unless a bid has been placed - to be able to edit his listing.
4. A facility for the high (maybe all) bidder/s to be shown on the listing after the listing has ended. (both Auction and Buy It Now formats).
5. The main one is the ability to to be able to bid what they like (0.01 or 0.10 pence (Cents) etc.
6. The ability to view the listing/s after the auction is closed.

Mr Blaine - I think you have done a fantastic job at what you have achieved so far and I know it may have been a rollercoster ride for you. Not once have you given up on the people, even though you put this out as a freebie.

I really hope that you are able to and have the time to perhaps do some, if not all of the extras that I have added above. I am Unable to put this "Live" on my forum until there is a little more improvement on it.

AND, I tell you something... There is an above average donation waiting to make it's way to you too. :)

Best Wishes,

Welshy2008.

And if #6 was possible - It would be absolutely great and a fantastic selling point to have the ability, to either relist the item if it hasn't been sold or to sell a similar item buttons on the bottom of the ended listings.

I know that you have replied to this thread here, Blaine - I like the layout and features of it. (the each auction with it's own unique item number is great)..

Which isn't isn't too dissimilar to yours, Blaine. Combine some of that layout and features with your great features and layout and you'll have the perfection forum action site.

I am not sure why people are constantly posting to this thread since it appears the hack is dead.

If you want an awesome working and fully supported classified/auction program for vb, consider vbclassified (www.vbclassified.com). It has everything needed and the author is great for supporting.

I have contacted the coder (Blaine0002) and he has appologetically stated that he is extremely busy at present and will update this and his other Mods as soon as he possibly can.

I would like to see the auction format of that vBclassifieds, But I can't see a 'live' auction anywhere. I would also like to see a full list of everythng that this software/addon does and is capable of. I also would like to know if I can and if it is easy to disable features that I don't want. (ie, the comments box on the bottom).

I have also emailed the author of vbclassifieds.

hmmm... well i have a running auction working at full on my website that i put in around 4 days back you can take a look if you like i think this system is very good and works just how i want it to i think you can disable some features and you are able to limit who can view and who can sell so it is good but as for the mega details i really cannot tell you sorry.

but if you want a basic auction system then this is the one you should look into adding to your site!

i would like to see an option to get comission on the sales that are made but maybe that will come later

zombietom 09-09-2008 05:16 PM

Does this work with 3.7.x

towermatt 09-10-2008 07:04 PM
