I'm still left with a .txt file.

I isntalled this mod and turned on a feature so that ads wont show up on register.php page but ads still show up.. plz help.

That's the read-me file. You don't upload it anywhere. It's just the instructions.

Add the word register to the THIS_SCRIPT exclusions on the General Settings page.

Looks like I forgot to change the instructions for that setting, try register|private. It must be separated using your custom delimiter set near the top of the Global Settings page.
