What happens if this mod is turned off (to upgrade to vb4). Do existing accounts made with a FB connect still function properly?

One Bug:

When I Access an Account with Facebook Connect, it Connects but when I End the Session the Facebook Account is Still Oppened, is I write www.facebook.com on the Browser it Displays the Oppened Account, (very Dangerous if an User Access his/her Account on a Public Computer and isn't Aware that his/her Facebook Account will Remain Oppened even if he/she Ends the Forum Session); is an Open Window for Facebook Security and Privacy Problems.

(This Happens on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla FireFox, so is a Problem with the Mod and Not the Browser).

Can this be Corrected? How?

This product logs you in via Facebook, not the other way around. You should be using Facebook to log out of the forums. This is true with all (and the point of) Facebook bridges.

I also noticed that when I access the Account with Facebook Connect, I Close the Session, and Click the Facebook Connect Button, it Immediately Access the Account without Displaying the Facebook Login Window; this is Related with the Bug I mentioned before.
Yes, that's what it's supposed to do. If your logged into Facebook, you only need to give it permission once, as with all Facebook apps.

I understand.

Is it Possible for the Application to End the Facebook Session when the the User Ends the vBulletin Session?

I Hope that is Possible. ;)

Meanwhile is Important that WebMasters Warn their Users about this, (a Notice Message), so that if they Login with Facebook they Log Out of Facebook when they Finish their Session on the vBulletin Board.

My Best Regards.

:)

Any Support for vbulletin suite?

Bouncer222 12-28-2009 09:32 PM

TWO QUESTIONS:

1.With this mod, when someone logs in with their facebook information, does this mod/product create a new account on the site based on their facebook login?

2. When a user is already registered on my site, will they still be able to login with their facebook information? And if the answer to number 1 is a yes, then what if an existing user logs in with his facebook login, will it create a new one?

wouldn?t their password need to be reset? and what about their email address? they cant reset their password without the correct email which this mod doesnt save.

i?d love to shut this off but it doesnt seem like its possible after so many ppl already registered using FB connect.

FYI to all that are reading this thread, there is zero reason to be using this mod anymore. Yay! Another Facebook Bridge is everything this modification is and considerably more, with support and an easier installation:

Facebook new account creation
Facebook to existing account linking
Non-Facebook email requirement
Etc.

I would suggest moving this mod (and the 3.7, 3.6 version of it) to the modification graveyard as there is zero support for it, and there is clearly another mod that duplicates it's functionality and then some.

I tried YAFB like you said. You talked it up and said how great it was. I think I was better off when I was using this mod (Facebook Connect). Facebook to existing account linking my butt.

So far I'm am NOT a fan of YAFB.
