Go in the plugins manager and edit the one attached to forumhome_complete, remove the <br /> from the quotes and it should do it.

Well the module was made by the author of vBCMS itself I think so you should ask him directly.

removing the <br/> did not help.
i deleted it from forumhome_complete...

I am still having problems with the language setting still being in French or whatever the default language is.

I have upload/imported the English.xml file, but that does not seem to help at all. Still seeing the same French language.

Anyone else having a hard time changing the language to English?

You are the only one to experience that. Is autocomplete enabled on your forum for the chatbox ?

You have to put images in misc/mgc_cb_evo/channels and they must be gif files.

Then on the channel creation page just input 18_cb_gen_channel and that's all.

Only remaining parts are options but you should be editing them so no biggie.

Adding this to the todo list if not already in.

Try editing clientscript/mgc_cb_evo/mgc_cb_evo_functions.js. Search for e.get('firstchild') replace this by e.firstChild.

Try disabling it and see if the gap is still there.

Yes this is a bug I corrected in the next version.

Well what you pointed out meant that you can import chats from other chatbox. Imagine you have Cyb Chatbox installed or any of the listed ones, then you could move to my chatbox without losing your old chats.

Yes this chatbox has a notification system that warn about new posts/threads (and can do other notifications too in the branding free version).

The chatbox would never have caused such errors. Seems like some table have been removed from your forum but that's not due to the chatbox itself.

I have a request for adding a feature .
Is it possible to have advertisement sentences between the chat ? For example in front of 5 chat message we would be able to send a AD BOT message or SPONSORED LINK .
Also this idea can be repleted by a FORUM NEWS or FORUM STATISTICS function when a thread updates a message would show in the chat box calling "The thread X Updated".

Is it possible to make it more secure, asking people to must enter a reCaptcha before they can submit a chat entry / comment ? Or is the System save enough to not allow Bots to put in a lot of crap, like you see on many other Chat / Shoutbox Systems ?

If you only allow user to post if they are registered then there should be no problem ?

I was asked to do a kind of captcha for anonymous user post, will add this to the todo list. (I therefore would set it for each user but not sure because this would be annoying for users to have to enter captcha everytime)

True but then, better safe than sorry. And I would recommend using reCaptcha instead of Captcha, since Captcha is not that safe really. At least it would be nice to have that option. Wether it would be annoying for users on a website or not should be up to the Administrator.
All i ask is the Option to have it, choosing it or not is up to anyone himself.

Ok , You are right , I wrote 5 for just an example & It can be customizable . Or even it can be TIME based.

About the second idea I meant an active "STATISTICS" as robot in the chat.

For example a user is the subscriber to a thread and someone replies to that thread in the forum , Then a message appears in the chat that says
As a same message of other users .

It can be expanded by new Social Group Messages , and New blog updates , New Announcements , New PMs etc...

This idea appeared for me because some users forget the forums when they chat and use the forums only for chatting. And this work chains the chat area to the main reason of the site "Forums"
I know this may be hard feature but I said it BTW.

Well managing subscriptions in notification is quite too intensive (need further sql queries)

But yes I have planned to work further on notifications, which by the way will be possible to detach from the chatbox as seen on my forum www.forumcoding.com.

These notifcations will however only be able to branding free owners (at least most of them).

I have this problem: time to time, the chatbox do not update the messages and when a user try to force the update he get disconnected. This happens even before the "user on line" time expire. Any suggestion ?
Another question: it is possible to change the sound of the new message notification ? If the audio level is high, the doing is really terrific :-)

I have the same problem with hanging up of the chat with "loading....".

First I searched in this thread for a solution to solve this. But all I found wasn't working well for my prob.

What is a little bit strange is, that during the iniciation of the chat I have an javascript error, that a refresh of the chat isn't possible:

chatbox_refresh is not defined
[Break on this error] chatbox_refresh('forced');

He trys always to load this function from the old mgc_cb_evo.js from my previous version 1.0. But in the new version 2.3.2 this javascript file doesn't exist!?
I tried everything. Updating, then uninstallation and new installation. Then also to reinstall the old version and uninstal it otherwise, to clean the tables from the old version, and then I reinstaled the new version, but nothing. The error is the same.:mad::mad:

As new version, I installed 2.3.2.

Do you have a solution for my problem?

P.S.: During the Update, Change to the new version I also have deleted the old files of version 1.0. Even the mgc_cb_evo_js!


I solved it by myself!! It was an error of an missing security token in my Forumdisplay! After testing other functions of my forum, I had to solve this problem. After that I tested another Instal of the MGC Chatbox, and it works fine now!!
