I have to tell you VBDev... I was running this "shoutbox" a while back when you first created it. My user base was small and it really generated little interest. I left it up anyway. I then upgraded vBulletin and figured I'd leave it off the site because it wasn't really doing anything. Now it's quite some time later and my userbase has grown substantially. The other day I figured I'd re-install it and see how the users like it. It's an instant hit!

Just 1 question... is this really a shoutbox? It's more like a chat box. I suppose it can be configured for both. My users are using it more as a chat box.

Well... Chatbox / Shoutbox ... kinda same.

But yeah most users are seing this rather as a chat "room" than a shout box

Can you please explain more what the YUI is? I know there is an option that let you call it from yahoo or from your server. Whats the difference? Which is less resource consuming?/ Which is more stable to do?

Have you set usergroup permissions ?

It depends, generally it's supposed to be faster from yahoo server but it's sometimes not working for certain users depending on their browser security parameters.

My members think it is a "complete turn off" that it doesnt seem to work at all.

Just curious, is there a hack of some sort were members can chose to turn the Chatbox off?

There's an option to turn it on or off individually in the Edit Optins section of my User Cp with this mod on my board.

How can I make it so if the person has no chats, it won't be listed in the postbit?
I assume I would need soem type of if statement?
Also how can I change the name of the postbit, from 'chats' to something else?

Yes you can by changing the code in the plugin attached to postbit_complete or something like that.

The chats text is in a phrase so you just have to edit it.

It means that when u activate the option, 4 sql queries are added on your forumhome page thats all :)

nope didn't change nothing got up in the morning and it was sticking on refresh but funny thing is its not doing it now :S

Edit the Add number of chats in the postbit plugin of the chatbox and replace its content by :

The phrase to edit to change the text is mgc_cb_evo_chats.

Perhaps a server side issue ?

got the product language uploaded....sorry it was my bad...the problem i'm getting is....i did give myself a permission...the i saw the chatbox or place it to the footer...when i type any test message...i'm not seeing anything...if i hit the send to my keypad or hit the button my window or the page will open a new window for this chatbox...and nothing happen...no word or chat tha you can see...totally blank...same as all buttons are no function...please can you help me on this..any idea that i miss something or maybe you can help me to my site...i can give you a temporary acp pass and of course willing to give also something in return....it might not big...but just a litlle appreciation for big hand and kindness...

I uninstalled this and the options to change permissions are still in user group permissions so it gives me an sql now when I try to update permissions because I uninstalled it and the sql database does not exist. How do I remove these options from user group permissions?

Sorry, I mean regarding the phrase "chats" and changing it to soemthing else. You said you just have to change the phrase. But I can't find it anywhere.

Ok I had to disable the BBcodes because its just very troublesome on the forum.

1. The input field is white and the text field is almost black. This makes it impossible to pick the right color that can nicely be seen in the input field and in the chatbox itself. I see a new feature was added "Option to disable wysiwyg in input field", so this should be very helpfull in the new release.
2. Everything is great before choosing a color. The input is black and the color is the same as the text color used elsewhere on the forum. But as soon as color is changes, it changes both in editor and chatbox. Going back to default does not correct this to the actuall default it was before. In the usergroup default colors, i can't chose the color that is default for my forum because its nto on the list. So can there be a place where you manually enter the color number?
3. Would it be possible to be able to chose which colors will be included in the dropdown for the users to be able to pick out of? Since preomlem one will be fixed in the next update, This way, I could enter all light colors only to be used on the dark background and the input field can stay black color.
4. Also noticed that hwne turning of the bbcode menu, smilies do not show anymore.
