This is our first plugin. When we add the plugin what do we set the ?product? as?

Which ?Hook Location? do need to we use?

Do we copy the xlm file into the box where it says ?Plugin PHP Code??

Thank for your help in advance.

Bubble #5 10-05-2005 10:05 PM

Can you tell me how to correct this?

According to the report template it's not an error. However clicking on the link at the bottom of the page sends you to the wrong place. Might have to edit the link.

Can ANYONE add a background color to their page? I keep asking but can't seem to get an answer :(

Make sure you run this after you upload that.

Change the link to whatever your site link is. ;)

No problem. Enjoy! ;)

Awesome hack for anyone, it hardly requires space so it's good to give your members a sense of authority.

hbalagh1 10-07-2005 03:01 AM

Great hack, have it working beautifully w/ mod rewrite

defi 10-07-2005 03:46 AM

does anyone know where the header and footer templates are being read in the user's userpage.php?

Reported Bad Userpage For nex

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN\" \"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd\">
nex has reported a problem with this personal page.

i find this page to be in poor taste.

userpage.php?userid=1
So there are 2 things. The first is the doctype thing at the top (which to be honest I don't care about) but the userpage.php link to the userid doesn't include the forums address. It links to http://userpage.php?userid=1 and that kinda makes the link no good. Ideas?

I just figured out how to solve this :P

Admincp -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> vBulletin Default (or whatever you have it as) -> (scroll to the bottom) userpage_report_message -> Take out the very top part, $stylevar[htmldoctype] (?), than edit the [ url ] http://... [ /url ]

mine looks like this now

Code:

$reporter has reported a problem with this personal page.

$problem

[ url=http://www.url.com/Forums/userpage.php?userid=$userinfo[userid]]Reported Page Link[ /url]

Colejo 10-07-2005 04:51 AM

Thanks rezovor. That fixed it for me too.

theArchitect 10-07-2005 11:41 PM

Hmm. Not having much luck with this.

I initially tried installing it when you first released it, but there were some problem so I gave the idea away.

Today, I decided that I really need this hack on my board and tried the upgrade, but unded up with a MySQL error about existing columns.

Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.5.0:

Invalid SQL:
ALTER TABLE userpage ADD rating INT( 10 ) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL;

MySQL Error  : Duplicate column name 'rating'
Error Number : 1060

Any thoughts?

cdoyle 10-08-2005 12:07 AM

hmm.

I just tried this on my test forum, and when I go into my usercp and click on the 'create your userpage option. I get a '/testvb/userpage.php?do=create' page cannot be found error.

I have a feeling it's someting simple, just not sure where to look?

theArchitect 10-08-2005 12:18 AM

Actually, scratch my request.

I have found that an increasing number of hacks don't work on my live board, but are installing fine on my default vB test board. So I am going to try and revert my live forum back to its default configuration and start with the hack installs again.

In which case I expect a fresh install of this will work with no problems, like it did on my test board.

yayvb 10-08-2005 04:24 PM

Just installed this hack, worked like a charm.

The only thing that I had to do was save the phrases which was mentioned in the installation guide. :)

Someone mentioned it earlier in this thread, and I agree and think it is simple but needed, and I'm not sure how to do it really. Rather than, or maybe in addition to, having a link in the navbar to see who has these personal pages, I'd rather see a link in someone's profile to their personal page, or I'd just assume have their profile page contain the personal page (html page, shouts) at the bottom.

But without changing it too much, a link in the members profile would be great, because I may want to view that user's and not want to sift through the members list. :)

Its a great site addition. Easy to work with and looks great!

Installed the hack and works for the most part, however i still have a few issues:

I don't have a link in the User CP at Seettings/Options section for the end user to create or edit their page.
Using the link it does work and load fine.
Will click install as soon as I can get it to link up.

I had this problem too Spaghie, and it turns out the plugin wasn't installing correctly. Delete and reinstall according to the instructions in the "How To " section and it should show up fine for you. Hope that helps :)

spaghie 10-08-2005 10:07 PM

Thankyou Bubble! That was all it needed.

In the memberinfo template under

Code:

<tr><td><a href="profile.php?$session[sessionurl]do=editattachments&u=$post[userid]&showthumbs=1">View Users Attachments</a></td></tr>
I added

Code:

<td><a href="userpage.php?$session[sessionurl]do=main&amp;userid=$userinfo[userid]" rel="nofollow"><phrase 1="$userinfo[username]">$vbphrase[view_userpage]</phrase></a></td>
And I added view_userpage as a phrase.

How do you get the link to only show up for members who actually have a page?

If they don't have a page and you click on the link it says "This user has not yet created a personal page"

I know, but is there a way to make it so the link won't even show up for users without a page? :)

Anyone have any idea why I'm getting this error?

mfizzel 10-09-2005 03:29 PM

Is anything like this available for 3.0.x ?

cdoyle 10-09-2005 05:30 PM

I currently have this running on my 3.03 board.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ght=guest+book

Works pretty well, it just won't work with 3.5, that's why I need to remove it.

Citizen 10-10-2005 04:29 AM

People seem to be having problems with this script. Is it working? Are there any known bugs?

gael11 10-10-2005 05:46 AM

This mod is very interesting !
thanks for your good job, but does anyone know if this extension work with vb 3.5 final ?

Colejo 10-10-2005 05:47 AM

Yes it works. I'm using it.

aloha 10-10-2005 07:46 AM

Is there any way to make this operate externally? Meaning, using VB obviously but having it actually create an external page so that it appears in actual .html or .php pages? So in other words... lol confusing as this may sound.. I love this idea, but it doesn't really have to much customization as far as being seperate from VB, not having everything else such as the forums and so forth cluttering their small little page... Having backgrounds, videos... kinda like myspace.com ???

yayvb 10-10-2005 06:50 PM

i installed it on both of my vbulletin 3.5.0 sites, but I can't click 'install' twice. :( just wanted to tell you to from now on,
$installed=$installed+1

lol, ahhhhh I'm silly. :squareeyed:

1. Make sure you have userpage.php in the root dir

2. Try userpage.php?do=edit

StarGame 10-12-2005 11:51 AM

Hi, i installed the script on my forums just like the install guide said.. then it all went BAD when i went to this part : '4. In your admincp usergroup manager, set permissions for each of your user groups.' i could not see the text just the buttons 'yes & no' and when i set them to yes and saved it this came up:
Warning: mysql_real_escape_string() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /includes/class_core.php on line 635

then i tried to get rid of it and then my forums would not work as the database table: vb_userpage i had to recreate this so my forums would work again.

Does anyone know why this did not work?
