Your forum is not loading the Facebook "back-end" - Did you recently upgrade? What exact VB version are you using?

In any case go to Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Facebook Options and make sure the Facebook Platform is enabled and further down that the Facebook Like button is enabled in Threads (and CMS and Blog if applicable)

I am using 4.1.7 PL 2. This is not working on any of the 4 vbulletin 4.1.7 forums I am running, but it USED TO!

Facebook platform IS enabled, and the like button is enabled in threads. Now, I do not have a facebook application id. Could that be the issue? Just upgraded another forum from 3.8 to 4.1 today, and same issue.

Carpesimia 11-11-2011 08:26 PM

Another question. Maybe its the lack of sleep, but why would this work in some threads, and not in others? For example, compare these two threads on the same site:

http://www.puff.com/forums/vb/cigar-...ineo-help.html

http://www.puff.com/forums/vb/questi...chat-link.html

The first one shows the links, the second does not. I have the plugin set to "ALL FORUMS". Could this have something to do with the second one being a nested forum?

BirdOPrey5 11-12-2011 09:48 AM

The second link is not viewable to guests. As of 4.1.7 vBulletin no longer loads the facebook like button for any forums not viewable to guests- as a result none of the share buttons will show- so that is working as expected.

And yes, I think you need the facebook app id now as well.

Hmmm. Ok, didnt realize our suggestion forum was non-public. Must have been changed by one of the admins. Thanks on that.

And ok, I'll go make a facebook app id and see if that fixes it. If so, u may wanna make a note next to the option in the config that they will need the app id in order to use the facebook buttons. ill let u know if it works, either way.

Carpesimia 11-14-2011 06:57 PM

Confirmed. App ID & Secret are required for Facebook buttons to show up.

Is it possible to use a URL shortner (e.g. bit.ly) by default when Tweet button is used?

MaXimus 11-15-2011 10:31 PM

Can anyone confirm if this will work with 4.1.8?

Sofar no :( On main forum page, yes. But under threads area all buttons are now gone since 4.1.7

bosken 11-17-2011 03:15 PM

Sorry, works. My bad. Happened to look under a thread that was a restricted area! SO: Works under 4.1.8..

Twitter does this automatically, if the url is too big you can mouse over it and see twitter shortened the real url.

Use less or smaller buttons. As stated in the readme I did not intend for people to use every button at once.

byalik 11-28-2011 10:13 PM

Anyone know how to get this working on sections?

napy8gen 11-30-2011 04:55 PM

HI Bird0Prey5

Can your mod work on article preview in vb4 cms index?

specifically the templates is vbcms_content_article_preview

BirdOPrey5 11-30-2011 06:19 PM

It is not designed to work in sections or article previews. These changes may be added one day but if so it would likely be to the gold version only.

mfractal 12-07-2011 12:26 PM

awesome mod!!
thanks for that!

on the main page of our it looks like the facebook button is appearing but is not clickable :

EDIT : Ok, clearing the cookies helped. So basically - i can confirm the mod is working fine on 4.1.8

LuDawgs 12-09-2011 07:17 PM

I love this mod and have had it installed for a long time. Recently, my Twitter icon started looking...squished?

http://www.ludawgs.com/showthread.ph...1284#post61284

LuDawgs 12-09-2011 07:27 PM

It's the width here:

Code:

<iframe allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets/tweet_button.html#_=1323462176103&amp;_version=2&amp;count=none&amp;enableNewSizing=false&amp;id=twitter-widget-0&amp;lang=en&amp;original_referer=URL." class="twitter-share-button twitter-count-none" style="height: 20px; width: 55px; " title="Twitter Tweet Button"></iframe>
It needs to be about 59px, but I can't find it.

I see Twitter changed their code. I will need to update. Looks better if you enable the count for now.

Does the count work now? I recall at one point it didn't.

BirdOPrey5 12-11-2011 08:06 PM

No the count does not seem to work on *SOME* forums, same as it has been.

Also I see that the "squished" look is the actual new look Twitter is using. Even using the default code at: http://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons#tweet - the button looks exactly the same if you uncheck the "Show Count" box- so I don't think there is anything I can do to fix the look- it is how Twitter intends to make it look.

LuDawgs 12-11-2011 08:54 PM

That stinks. They must not be aware because it is completely off balance.

I have install other on its not working bro

BirdOPrey5 12-12-2011 11:07 AM

Sorry I don't understand your English.

silberfuchs 12-12-2011 05:21 PM

I just installed the mod within my 4.1.7 Suite and everything seems to work fine. Except the facebook function. If I click the "I like" button it's working fine but I cannot "dislike it" and the message at Facebook is my domain with the additional information "vBulletin 4 Suite" below the domain. The logo is alway a picture from the latest CMS News in spite of the fact I clicked on the button at forumhome.

Any idea for me to support? Thanks a lot!

Issue solved!

LuDawgs 12-12-2011 09:24 PM

I love this mod. I see a clear correlation between this mod and traffic increase (also an increase in bounce rate, but we're converting new members!).

Has anyone experienced any inaccuracies with the Digg counter?

sticky 12-13-2011 08:56 AM

Installed but it only displays on forum home and not the CMS and threads. Yes, I made sure it was enabled and that enable on CMS is set to yes.

silberfuchs 12-13-2011 01:45 PM

Is there any chance to make also photos from the CMS visible in goole+? Everything works fine except the photo will not be displayed.....

...in the meantime I found the issue - it takes the logo of my vB but this has white color with a transparent background. Could you please support me to resolve that issue? Thanks a lot!

.....I only need the possibility to transfer a different logo than my vB has.....where do I have to change that?

You should replace the vBulletin logo with a custom logo/title image anyway. Upload or create your image and then go to Admin CP -> Style Manager -> Your Style -> Style Vars Editor and put the path for the new logo into the stylevar Image Paths -> titleimage.

It may take some time for Google to pick up the new image... (hours, maybe days.)

Thanks. Please "Mark as Installed."

silberfuchs 12-15-2011 03:50 PM

I have my logo already installed, please have a look at www.mf-rn.de

The logo is only the page title in front of the header image

BirdOPrey5 12-15-2011 09:54 PM

If your logo is white on transparent the logical solution seems to be to change your logo if you're unhappy with it.

I am not unhappy with my logo -I wanted to ask if it is possible to tell the mod to take another file to deliver to google - not to take titleimage ?

BirdOPrey5 12-16-2011 10:43 AM

There is no option in the mod to do this. I don't know the details of how Google+ works, you could Google for more info I guess. I know Facebook allows you to add HTML code to the header to force it to use an image, I'd assume Google+ has something like this.
