I once did this mistake in one of my test servers... :D |
Quote:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...5&d=1305916563 Displayed as it's own page. If you mean how it's displayed after the application is filled out, it's just a regular thread or PM with the questions and their answers. |
Anyone help me to set it up to work with 4.2.1

What problems are you facing? |
I upload all the files, set all the permisions for advappfiles folder, and when i try to import it, it gives me message that i have to upload all the files in order to install. I just want to mention that my admin directory isnt the deafult admincp.
Any Help Please. Solved, i have noticed that i have uploaded one file in admincp folder wich i am not using anymore, just copied to the one i renamed and everything is working. |
Yep, that would do it. :)
Glad you found the problem. |
Hope it will help to others.

Since the update i got this error whenever i want to edit the Applications. The changes are applied but there is always an error occuring:

And i got another problem. These are my settings https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1370280380 but not logged in users cannot view the Application Types. I only want logged in users to apply for positions but the Type pages should be publically viewable. Did i something wrong? |

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1370281777 For being able to view the application types, be sure the unregistered/not logged in usergroup is not in ACP->Settings->Options->Application Form Settings, 'Usergroup Settings'. |

Or are you asking that a list of applications still be visible after unregistered users click the link in the community menu? If this is the case, that is not possible. A user must have permission to fill out the application to see it on the list of applications. |
Ah, what a pitty. I wanted that everybody can see the Application Page but when they hit "Start Application" they have to be logged in/register. The community menu selection is visible for all.
Thank you anyway. |
Hi,
I had this mod installed and i had to remove all mods for the major upgrade process, now when i installed it back and edited (updated) the answer fot the following questions, What forum would you like to be a Moderator in? It doesn't update the answers. It still shows the default answers. Any help/suggestion on this one ? Thanks |
Quote:
Or did you just edit the default questions? You must edit the questions for the Position for them to change when filling out a form. |
Thanks Nhawk .... This might sounds weird, but previously when i had this mod installed i actually edit the questions in default questions tab and it worked and this time it didn't and now when i changed them in position it's working fine.
Thanks for your help :) |
I've got many new threads created by guests although only registered users can use the forms. That happened more often since the last addon update :/
|
Quote:
In each Position - Allowed Usergroups In Each Application Type - Allowed Usergroups In ACP->Application Forms->Application Form Settings, make sure usergroup 1 IS IN Usergroup Settings EDIT: I have double checked and simply adding usergroup 1 to the Usergroup Settings in ACP->Application Forms->Application Form Settings forbids unregistered members from accessing any part of the application system. |
If i add usergroup 1 to ACP->Application Forms->Application Form Settings they cannot see the types anymore. Does it not work if allow unregistered users in Application Types->Allowed Usergroups to see the application group but in Application Positions->Allowed Usergroups i do not allow unregistered to apply for the position?
All posts/threads made by guests are registrated users on my board (i've checked their name) and you cannot use the app addon without being logged in (although only usergoup 8 is set in ACP->Application Forms->Application Form Settings). Maybe they get logged off during filling out the application and thus the posts/threads are created by guests? EDIT: Just tested it and if you log off while having the application opened and then submitting it, the post is made by guest. Can you implement a login check after hitting the submit button? |

I can not duplicate the log off problem. Whether or not a member is in the forbidden usergroups in settings is checked at the very beginning of the script, long before the call to send the application. Please describe exactly how you are logging out and getting back to the application page to click the send button. Also, the exact settings for the application type and the application position that you are having problems with might help me track down the problem. |
I log in at my board, then i start an application and open my board in another tab. In this tab i log out of my board and go back to the first tab where there is still the application displayed. When i submit the application, it will be posted as guest although i'm already logged out. It's like "bypassing" the login check which is only at the very beginning of the script.
Did i explain it well? |

Could you give me these settings for your system and the application?.. ACP->Application Forms->Application Form Settings, Usergroup Settings The Application Type - Allowed Usergroups The Application Position - Allowed Usergroups |
Thank you for the fast response. Here you go:
ACP->Application Forms->Application Form Settings, Usergroup Settings: 8 The Application Type - Allowed Usergroups: all The Application Position - Allowed Usergroups: all except Unregistered / Not Logged In, Users Awaiting Email Confirmation, Users Awaiting Moderation |
Thank you. That's what I needed to duplicate the problem.
A fix will be posted on my site shortly. |
Great mod, I use this on my website for people to apply for advanced membership.
|
Hey,
Awesome mode! Is it still not possible to directly link the application? I also found few bugs. 1) When I get a report by email the first question is moved to the right http://pokerpresence.com/advappfiles/REP.png 2) 2 of my questions had "file upload promt" as answers. One was required and another optional. However, if you don't fill (ulpload) the option one, the form wouldn't send and gives you an error message from the other one. 3) You can't upload the file with the name that already exists (was loaded before) |

I realize number 3) is not a bug. I wanted to use the mod as a general form, not for applications only. Basically, members submit certain reports (screenshots) twice a week and they usually name them same way.
Of course, overwriting is not an option, usually renaming the uploaded file to something random is a way to go. And I assume its not possible to directly link to the application? Anyway, thanks a lot for an amazing mod. |
Sorry I missed that part.
You can not link directly to a form. You need to pass through the security of the application type first. |
What are the chances of us being able to customize the output sometime in the near future?
Like in this mod, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=234385 |

Can you tell me how to change font color and font size of the answers when they get posted in a thread?
Maybe where too? |
Quote:
The answers are posted in the default font size for posts in your forum. In order to change the font size, you would need to edit application-forms.php starting around line 601 and inserting BBCode for the font size. NOTE: I do not support editing the code. If you do so, you do so without help and at your own risk. NOTE: You are also now 10 versions behind. The current version is 1.4.3, I do not support version 1.3.3 any more. And the line number I stated above will most likely be incorrect. |
Anyone that downloaded version 1.4.3, please download again. And upload the new files to your server. There was a typo in one of the files.
