Its on the archive sitemap.

Update, I just noticed the VB Sitemap was also on. Could that have caused the issue. I dont remember seeing anything about it in the install.

Is this the same 3.0 already available to VBSEO license holders yesterday?

james7zt 09-19-2011 08:33 PM

Hello,

The built-in sitemap feature of vB must be disabled while using vBSEO Search Engine XML Sitemaps.

We need you to find out in your Webmaster Tools account what is the actual error message you get, so we can troubleshoot this. You can try heading over the sitemap that does show up with issues.

Hello Mike,

I'm not quite sure on what you mean with 'yesterday', but yes, this is the same build available on our downloads area over at vBSEO.com ;)

So let me get this correct really all we need to do is override one file "md5_sums_crawlability_sitemap.php"?

"Yes, there's a newer version of the script and it is the one available for download in the first post of this thread. You can see at the middle-center part of the add-on information that it says: 'Last Update: 05 Sep 2011'."

This is confusing me because I can't find the file and apparently it's only one file that needs to be updated you guys should only have one file that needs to be downloaded, that seems more easier to understand?

Rideharder 09-21-2011 11:46 AM

I guess I'll just follow the upgrade instructions and overwrite all files

FReeSTER 09-21-2011 01:25 PM

ok so far everything is perfect, Is submitting to google but is not submitting my sitemaps to yahoo or any of the other 2.

The only files that have been updated are: vbseo_sitemap_functions.php and md5_sums_crawlability_sitemap.php (this one because of the checksum).

We can't just add them as separate files, because new people downloading the package may get confused about what to download and how to install what they've downloaded.

There are issues on Yahoo's side that go beyond our control. They have been blocking lately pings from some servers for some weird reason.

Hello,

This seems to be a server issue. See for details:

and

Scalemotorcars 09-26-2011 03:46 AM

In a future update can you add the ability to select what sites to ping. My yahoo is deal also so it would be great if I could simply turn off that ping. If yahoo wants to block my server then why bother sending them the sitemap.

peterkohar 09-26-2011 06:36 AM

i've tried to install it and follow the steps carefully but when i want to open http://www.yoursite.com/vB-root/vbseo_sitemap/ in F step, its always shown my http://www.yoursite.com/forum.php

why is that happened ? is there something wrong or i did wrong?

Hi,

I have had this plugin installed and working for some time but have noticed lately that the Yahoo ping (in the email report I receive) is always failing. Google, Bing and Ask are all successful.

Are others having this Yahoo problem?

Dale.

mgcom 10-14-2011 10:45 AM

Installed perfectly on VB 4.1.5...BUT THERE IS A PROBLEM...a BIG one at that!

When i click on VBSEO Sitemap reports in my ACP, the login screen appears that asks for the password, on entering the password, i get taken to my site homepage instead of the Sitemap reports page..

Also if i try www.mysite/vbseo_sitemap/ - same thing happens...the login screen appears that asks for the password, on entering the password, i get taken to my site homepage instead of the Sitemap reports page..

I have been researching for this for 4-5 hours now and nothing..

BTW

1. I have the .htaccess in place.
2. I use VBSEO
3. MODRewrites work fine for me
4. I use VB Suite 4.1.5

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

briansol 10-18-2011 03:44 AM

Yahoo/Bing have terminated ping services. This is beyond our control.

If you're login isn't working, it sounds like a base slash is in correct. Check your vboptions/settings and make sure all settings have proper trailing slashes, or not, as required by vb.

The ones that have an error say this.

General HTTP error: 404 not found

Anyone have idea on this? It's been going on for so long now, that I think it's just ruined my ranking in Google.

Is this mod still supported? I've been having this issue for months, and still hoping to get it fixed. Otherwise I'm going to need to uninstall it.
