Hello,

the files vbsc.js and vbsc.js.gz must have the attribute chmod to 777?

Xencored 05-06-2010 04:07 PM

Yea that what the man said in the readme

Installed on vb_4.0.3_PL1 and is perfect!

doraj 05-08-2010 11:42 AM

Hello,

I have a strange problem, I don't understand it from what depend.
When I active the option "Enable Common Javascript Cache", I see on above the page of my forum this text:

Quote:

The file /home/xxxxxx/public_html/forum/clientscript/vbsc.js is empty. Ensure you have the file chmodded as per the installation instructions and run the Compress Javascript under vB4: SuperCharged in your Admin CP. Report any errors you encounter when running Compress Javascript.

To prevent issues, your forum is currently running without optimised Javascript as a fallback.

As a last resort if you cannot get this message to disappear, disable the Javascript Optimiser.
The file vbsc.js is already chmod to 777, what is the problem?

I use vB 4.0.2

Thanks

Darkimmortal 05-10-2010 12:41 AM

Run Compress Javascript in your admin cp, and failing that, update to 4.0.3.

Hi

Do you have an ETA for the bug fixes?

I asked this on the other page, look back.

Darkimmortal 05-12-2010 02:57 AM

1.5 released :)

Also there were a couple of bugs I couldn't reproduce - inserting inline more than one image from the asset manager, and with vBSEO, PM notifications not opening a new tab.

kmohamed 05-12-2010 04:17 AM

thanx a lot
so far great job

StarBuG 05-12-2010 07:12 AM

Hi

Thanks for the update but the PM Notification is still not creating a new window.
As soon as I deactivate vbsc it opens the windows again.

If you want send me your email and I can send you my vBSEO settings, maybe this will help you recreate the bug.

TheBish 05-12-2010 11:38 AM

Brilliant. Thanks!

Would you mind registering me a couple of accounts on one of your forums? Even with the help of google translator I couldn't quite manage it :P

Thanks for the update works awesome :up:

malas2007 05-13-2010 02:02 AM

Hello, thanks for the great job.

it works perfect for me.
before install your mode, I was need 20 Second to open my forum,
now just 10 second or less.

also I used Iwebtool.com to test the speed before and after,
and here is the result:
befor:
#
Domain nameSizeLoad TimeAverage Speed per KB1www.bonsaifreinds.com/vb306.92 KB7.58 seconds0.02 seconds
after:
#
Domain nameSizeLoad TimeAverage Speed per KB1www.bonsaifreinds.com/vb306.76 KB1.22 seconds0 seconds
that was sooooooo great for me.

thank you so much.

you can test my forum speed here: bonsaifreinds.com/vb

Hi

Another great improvement would be if you could optionally gzip the vbsc.js file and the css files of vbulletin.

I hope this is possible :)

StarBuG

Your server is supposed to do that :)

I am a strong supporter of Nginx, hence why vBSC produces pre-gzipped .gz files that Nginx (and probably other servers) can serve directly.

Just installed your product and it does seem to have made a difference to the forum itself.

However, 2 problems.

vMoods no longer works, is there any work around for this?

the CMS actually seems to load slower!! is that just me?

vMoods I'll look into, and the CMS - is your server set to send the correct cache headers on CSS/JS files?

Also can I have a link to your forum?

kmohamed 05-13-2010 10:40 PM

thanx a lot for this great mod it helps my site a lot
all thanx to you

carubmun 05-13-2010 11:23 PM

Is this mod compatible with the other major Optomise mod here on vb.org?
Or do they basically do the same thing and i should choose one or the other, but not install both?

It does completely different stuff - you should run both :)

Juggernaut 05-14-2010 12:49 AM

Is this really necessary? Store CSS Stylesheets as Files
I run another program that does not work properly when I store CSS as Files.

For the CSS Optimiser to function, yes. If you want to run vBSC with CSS stored in the database, you will need to disable the following plugins after installing it:

- CSS Auto-Compress
- CSS Auto-Compress Init
- CSS Optimiser

In Opera browser the CSS definitely loads way slow. However, who the hell uses opera but me and it works great in all other browsers.

dihuta 05-14-2010 03:08 AM

vB4 SuperCharge 1.5 and 1.5.1's HTML Optimiser makes widget config dialog (Genera Search, Recent Articles, Recent Threads,...) crash.

Please check it.
Thank you.

I'm using Firefox and the CMS definitely loads considerably slower :(

Alecsmith 05-14-2010 11:21 AM

got this error while running Compress CSS

Quote:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/adminfunctions_template.php on line 913

cagbaazee 05-15-2010 02:53 AM

When i use compress css
i get the error

Code:

"If you get errors, try running the script again a few times and check your file permissions.
Compress CSS: vbulletin
Writing latest CSS from the database to disk...        Failed!
An error occurred when reading your CSS files.
Please ensure you have CSS set to be stored on the filesystem and try again."

please help me out. Thanks

TeknoSounds 05-15-2010 11:19 AM

Did you make sure these two steps were done? (prolly only the first is all you need to check, but might as well check both while you're there :p )
Quote:

1. Ensure you have CSS stored on the filesystem and not your database. To check this, go to Settings > Options > Style & Language Settings > Store CSS Stylesheets as Files? and ensure it is set to "Yes".
2. Disable Remote YUI if you have it enabled. To check this, go to Settings > Options > Server Settings and Optimization Options > Use Remote YUI and ensure it is set to "None".

zelnik 05-16-2010 09:10 AM

Had to disable this product as it causes to much problems with other add-ons.

I've reported vMoods not working and now I've discovered the vb4 version of MGC Chatbox EVO doesn't work under this product either :(

I own a branding free license for MGC Chatbox so that's why I have it for vB4 but my understanding is the FREE version will be available as of tomorrow so it's just a heads up to anyone thinking of trying it.

Any chance of a fix for both these problems?!

valdet 05-16-2010 04:56 PM

Hi Darkmotion, can you please make this great hack work on 3.6.x and 3.8.x versions.

I was away from vBulletin scene for several months, so I am just picking up on things developed around. This is an incredible hack and it seems to serve well for heavy forums which need every optimization possible, because some forums are over loaded with too many javascript calls (Adsense, Analytics, several vB javascript etc..)

Thanks for your time.

StarBuG 05-16-2010 06:24 PM

BUG:

when HTML Optimizer is enabled it removes all google adsense section targeting.

This is an absolute no go!

Please exclude section targeting comments from being removed or the nice html optimizer is not usable for adsense publishers.

ps: I use vBSEO to integrate the section targeting tags

Only if you don't read the instructions about not using HTML Optimizer if you have vBSEO's c2c option active - http://www.nzboards.com/the-lounge/r...on-sale-90544/ .. my adsense weight tags are still there.

(So, turn off HTML optimizer or vBSEO's version, and see if the issue remains.)

StarBuG 05-16-2010 09:54 PM

My site is not running the vBSEO cleanup html code option.
And yes the issue remains ;)

It should theoretically work on 3.6+, although you would have to go through /includes/vbsc_global.php and put in the correct CSS/JS filenames for it to have much of an effect.

Perhaps switch to the vBSEO cleanup HTML option? It seems to do a slightly more thorough job, though there's not much in it really.

I'll get round to fixing those issues soon - most likely it will just be a matter of whitelisting their inline Javascript.

Heya Dark,
Came across an issue tonight with another mod.
Firebug alerted me an error when viewing a file in DownloadsII.
The error states that qr_init is not defined.
Turning off the Javascript optimizer makes the error go away.
Here's the code he's using thats in question:
Code:

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
// initialize quick reply
 qr_init();
//-->

ps2wiz 05-22-2010 05:00 PM

I ended up uninstalling this.

It just takes up too many system resources on my dedicated windows box. During peak times with a good amount of members online, my CPU usage is pegged at 100% and it overloads the server. Pages can take up to 10 seconds to load....

And that is only with the CSS and Javascript optimization options.
