It's working on 4.2, but shouldn't this be upgraded ?

Regards,,

Chadi 05-26-2012 08:34 PM

I upgraded my custom skin to its 4.2.0 version. Then I reuploaded this plugin, which previously was working. Now its still not showing up anymore.

Then you need to re-edit the template in the skin.

Chadi 05-26-2012 09:04 PM

I never edited anything before nor is their instructions on any manual edit.

Boofo 05-26-2012 09:42 PM

Then they must have changed something in the new version of the skin.

pharlap 05-27-2012 06:45 AM

After upgrading to 4.2.0...

..I can login as another user , but when i logout i get this error..

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class vB_ProfileBlock_ActivityStream in /home/racechat/public_html/horse/packages/dmactivitystream/profileblock.php on line 12

Boofo 05-27-2012 06:52 AM

Strange as I have not run into that at all when using this mod in vb 4.2.0. Sounds like you might have another mod not playing nice with this.

BirdOPrey5 05-27-2012 10:50 AM

I checked on 4.2.0 as well, not getting any error.

It does work i know that as i use it on 4.2
I suspect thats because the version number in the xml has not been updated.
But i can say its working for me in 4.2

carloscuevas 05-31-2012 03:13 AM

thanks, how can i update version number in the xml ??

BirdOPrey5 05-31-2012 12:03 PM

Open the xml file in a text editor, look for max version, change it to a higher number.

Disco_Stu 05-31-2012 05:05 PM

I'm running 4.2 and when I changed the max version in the xml (just scan for "max") to 4.2.0 it didn't work. I had to change it to 4.2.5 for it to work but it does seem to be working now.

Marking as installed.

BirdOPrey5 05-31-2012 10:52 PM

Yeah, you need to make it a version ABOVE the version you are using.

Next time you have to do this to a mod just set it to 5.0.0 so you don't need to worry about it.

Datenpapst 06-22-2012 12:51 PM

found it!

'Open the xml file in a text editor, look for max version, change it to a higher number.'

Try reading all posts in the thread next time ;)

This seems to have clashed with advanced forum rules as the place where the login as user is supposed to display is missing where it should be but the advanced forum rules is present.

I can still get in via the acp and its working just fine. just wondering if anyone has a suggestion about moving the location of the link in the usercp

Replaced Code:

Code:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="" maxversion="" />
Code:

$template_hook['profile_sidebar_first'] .= $tab_html;
  1. Import the product file via the product manager in your AdminCP.
  2. Done!

Thanks works great in Version 4.2.0 PL2 :)

I just learned of this plugin today and I have to ask why would you need to log into a user's account unless you were up to no good?
With all the bullcrap mistrust board owners go through these days..

Is it any wonder why this is happening with plugins like this and the read pm's plugin??

Just because you can do something (create a plugin like this) doesn't mean you should..

Just voicing an opinion

+1 Force.

No one asked or cares whether you think this mod is necessary or not- or what you think of the coder for writing it.

This mod isn't used by us to spy or snoop on users. It is used to help users log on when they have password troubles, to figure out if they can access certain features, to adjust their posting and other settings. With this, we can see exactly what error messages the user is seeing.

We find this extremely useful. What isn't useful to you might be very useful to someone else. But either way, don't disrespect others' hard work or ascribe some malicious purpose to someone's work.

Every single major website or corporate website has the ability to access users or members information. I have called on many a company from banks to local companies with certain problems from time to time. They respond with "wait while I access your account", etc.

This mod isnt used to give permissions to moderators or even just administrators (at my site), just one super admin.

And yes, it is all about ethics. Website operators that have ethics, have a reputation of being ethical. Its why my site is going on its 9th year. I dont play that way(unethical). I play straight. And my members know that and have come to expect that.

And yes, it works on 4.2 pl3

It does work... Maybe you are not seeing it? Go to the users profile if its activated you should see the login as user in the left panel of their profile page!

Make sure the maxversion is set high enough.
If you had it working on 4.2.0 PL2 I believe you had to modify the XML before uploading to make it work.

Update the XML and re-upload with overwrite allowed.

For the haters, its great for testing new changes without having to log out and back in twice each time you want to view what you did.

My use is that I have several members complain of issues such as not being able to see certain areas....IE: Visitor tabs in others profiles. So to be able to view from their point of view is very helpful.

My issue is that when I click on log in as user it logs me out and back to the log in screen. It will not let me go into any other acct. Im gonna try to edit the XML to max version and will report back.

justicechick 12-19-2012 11:08 PM

Works perfect! Thanks

Zabulus 12-27-2012 11:01 PM

Quick Question:

I assume when you login as user it is YOUR IP obviously. My question is, does your IP now show up when you lookup that user's IP history?

avec une femme 12-27-2012 11:08 PM

Does this work with vbulletin 4.2. It wouldn't let me install it...

Alibass 12-27-2012 11:13 PM

Open the xml file and change the version date.

Yes i believe that is correct.
Actually i know that is correct. I have tried it and use a mod that shows the flags for the country also and that changes also.

CoZmicShReddeR 12-28-2012 12:24 AM

It's not built to fool people or do malicious behavior its meant to help members out if they have an issue you cannot see... Or at least that's what people should know!

change it to
Code:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.0 alpha 1" maxversion="" />
