Can we 'activate' certain games and not others per usergroup? I haven't tried to download and read the readme file, so I'm not sure.

Since we are a 'family' site, I'd like to give my members the option of 'opting in' to a casino-enabled usergroup. Then, I could grant permission to that usergroup of all of the 'gameroom' games.

Oh, and I read this on the official vBgaming site...

Within a day or two you will be able to turn on / off groups. So you can override the general usertype permissions for all the poker games, or all the board games. But not on a per game basis.

Should point out that was in the context of the paid version, not the one here ;)

People arent getting paid for posts or threads etc... Is there a fix I missed? I Dissabled the regular casino do I need to uninstall it? All the games are working, great MOD!

Was working for about 5 minutes after install. In the admin panel I unclicked "Allow Transfer" and then it locked up and this is what the screen now looks like when I got to gameroom.php.

Uninstall and reinstall fixes this but every time I unclick "Allow Transfer" this happens.

where does this file get uploaded to?

Note: There is a 2mb upload limit, so the flash banner came out of the main .zip which finally pushed itself over 2mb.

Check your "UserID" number.
I think this MOD uses the installers UserID as the only admin and moderator.
If you changed it to 6, your probably removed yourself & gave UserID #6 on your forum admin and mod access to your game room settings.

I had the same prob, uninstalled the plugin, & re-installed and admin option came back. Then noticed that the user-type matched my UserID... coincidence maybe, I don't know... But works when I leave it alone. lol

Great MOD though, so far I'm loving it... way better than the old casino we had.

My only suggestion at this point, one to consider for the next update would be to ditch the vague "UserType" description or wording and actually distinguish between "UserID" & "UserGroup" in the admin settings.

I got it all working in FF and Opera. I just reinstalled from scratch and it works fine, now.

You likely have some sort of image hotlinking in place. Why IE gets around it and the others don't I'm not sure. If you are using CPanel I believe it is controlled through that.

Yes, override all the files, import the product file overtop. No need to uninstall anything.

Installed! Very nice.

Strange, however. After installing we changed the admin rights to the admin group and the mod group, and now the admin panel is nowhere to be found !!

I am sure we changed it properly, however, we had one admin panel opened in Opera, and it would not permit us to type in the forms, so we opened another admin panel in FF3. We added the correct setting for admins and mods.... and now, no admin panel!

What can we do?

Chess game does not log moves!

Also, Chess does not record games, won-loss of player matches, etc.

And, Chess, cannot save game and return another time to play??

This is a "good start" but is far from useful for most people who play chess. Most people play chess online over many days, because they are busy. All games should be recorded. One of the most important parts of a Chess game is the record of the moves! Also, it is not interesting if there is no record of who played, what happened, who won against whom, etc.

Sorry, this is a disappointing implementation. The chat refresh is annoying at best. I am locked out of the adminCP but the database shows correct usergroups using phpMyAdmin. Cannot type in Opera, but OK in FF3 and Safari........

Comments from various forum users who tried The Gameroom:

1. Cannot type in the gameroom when I am using Opera. FF3 and Safari OK.
   
2. Chat refresh blinks entire flash module... annoying.
   
3. Chess does not record moves, cannot save game, does not record wins or loses.... (heard it does in the paid version, some of this, but the bugs still exist).
   
4. Card games, etc. are not as nice as in the Casino mod .... resolution not nice at all......
   
5. Solo card games don't seem too buggy - but resolution not great.
   
6. Switching from e.g chess to lobby and back means multiple here I am , oh I'm gone messages and would time you out - i.e. you'd have to stay for the duration of the game and experience no network glitches..
   
7. The timeout and "have to stay in your room thing" to play Chess is bad news.

Moves are logged, but only for the purpose of checking 50-move and 30-fold repetition. You can't view a game after the fact. Ranked games, which record win/loss and calculate rank are only in the paid version.

The goal here is games played in realtime against other users, not make a move and come back the next day to make another sort of games.

Never heard of the Opera issue, Opera always worked for me and I do a good chunk of my testing in it. As for your admin rights, it want's userID, not User Group ID.

Still have Opera problem. I looked in settings.php and found admins and mod should be userid. It is OK now, but I think userid is better. We have 20 mods and add them by group, not user.

Also, we noticed your "color picker" does not permit us had a value unless the value is in your grid.

Also, your sports pool has a bug, creates double entries. Screen shots attached.

Also, we edited settings.php and changed the timers so people can at least play a game of Chess over a 30 day period, if they wish, LOL. "Real time".... hahahaha. You must have nothing to do but play games.... our forum is fully of pros who want to interact with each other without time controls.

PS: We pulled down your latest version of this code today. Screen shots of the files in the distro attached. You can easily see there is only one file in "tools" and it is not the one you mention ;)

Well, you should listen to your potential customers and add the bare minimum features Chess players expect ;) There are "toys" and then there are "real toys"..... LOL :D

All people who play Chess that I know what to see the moves, just like a Chess matches, just like in the papers, just like in books.

Also, the same "real players" want to see the recorded moves saved, especially if the game is a good one!

These are just basic "Chess 101" features......

Opera problem happens on Opera on Apple iMAC OS X, not on Opera on XP.

All is OK on Opera/XP.

Is it browser specific? as in it works in IE, but not firefox?

If so it is likely a hot linking prevention problem.

If not and its only the poker games that seem effected check your uploads, if not all the files overwrote a previous version you can get that effect.

You shouldn't need to uninstall, just upload the files again and make sure they overwrite properly on all of them
