I love this mod :)

Only issue I'm having is that we're only enabling the arcade for Admins and 'Premium' members. But since the 'challenge' link shows up under every member name, and there's no way for Premium members to know another member doesn't have access to the arcade, it kind of sets us up for having Premium members constantly 'challenge' non-premium members who still get the messages but when clicking on the challenge link, can't access the arcade.

Am I missing something obvious here, is there a way to set it up so that only the Premium members have the 'challenge' link under their usernames?

I'll put this on the To Do list to try & duplicate. When the postbit is created while viewing the threads, it *should* be already checking if the post user ID has access to the arcade or not before showing the Challenge link. I'll be back...

WOW this was VERY easy to install!

updated 06-21-2009 01:48 AM

I couldn't get this to work on an SSL/https vb system. The initial install and games worked, but the license didn't validate. Then I made an exception for the arcade.php to run http. This validated the license and allowed additional games to install part of the way. But they didn't work and the images didn't get copied in. Would be nice to have an option to install on https. It is difficult to try to split functions on a board between http and https.

Why did this happen..?
I never had a problem with an arcade before, is this arcade version new.?

Thanks

Anyone have any idea why it didn't work, or maybe what this error is telling me.?
(I'm using 3.8.3)

Quick question....on the award image showing in the member's post-bit....I'd like to have the trophy or crown show up underneath the avatar image versus above it as it does currently.

Can you give me instructions on which template I need to edit and how to do that?

Loving this mod!

I suspect that the install script code never took into account SSL. :o I'll put it on our To Do list to check out.

Are you 100% positiive that you upload all of the files to the right folder, have plugins enabled, and imported the product XML?

When playing a game in the current version of v3A the page is purposely set to not allow it to be cached. If you hit the 'back' button, instead one of the links to play the game again, it is trying to use the locally cached copy from your browser which won't be found. I'll put it on the To Do list to put some code in a future version to capture the back button to either divert it or display a message.

It is using a template hook in your "postbit" template (or "postbit_legacy" if you the option turned on in your ACP). There is a plugin running that inserts the awards at the "postbit_userinfo_left" location in that template. Depending upon which template you're using, you'll want to either move "$template_hook[postbit_userinfo_left]" (without the quotes) to the spot where you want to the awards to appear or, if you're familiar with plugins & hooks, modify the plugin "Awards Plugin Postbit" at the very bottom to use a different hook name.

I believe we wil have to wait until V32 is supported
V2 games have too many issues, such as easier to cheat and if you open 2 windows od games, scores won;t save and show errors..etc

thanks for good work

Don't have an answer yet. Trying to see what would generate that particular vB error.

Whoops! Thanks for pointing that out. For those curious... I am using the phrase "$vbphrase[first_visit_message]" inside of a vBa CMPS and that phrase accepts two links, one for faq.php and one for register.php. In my template I forgot to use "$vboptions[bburl]/register.php" intead of just "register.php" since the template will be shown outside of the forums folder.

... Import the "product-v3arcade.xml" file into vBulletin (ACP => Plugins & Products => Manage Products => Add/Import Product)

... Go into your user groups and set their permissions to the arcade (ACP => Usergrouips => Usergroup Manager => {name of group} Edit => Arcade Permissions)

... Have fun. :)

(Note... you should not try to install multiple arcade prodcuts on the same instance of vBulletin unless you have modified one or other to avoid any conflicts.)

That was an interesting read but after unzipping the download there is no "files" folder in it, just a "Forums" folder, is that the same?

Also it says upload everything, does this mean everything into the "Forum" folder (which I have 2??) in my cPanel or into each separate folder; Induces folder into my includes folder> Images into my images folder...and so on?
If so where to upload the "games folder"?
Kind of don't get where to upload everything to any help would be great.

It gives me the error when uploading the xml..!?
is there something that needs to be done before uploading the xml.?
(besides uploading the folder to server)

*edit*
I guess i had uploaded something wrong cuz it worked this time. :)

New problem..

I'm guessing it has nothing to do with this mod, but i will try here first.

When i try to give usergroups access to arcade, it gives me this error.
Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.3:

        `minreptoplay` = '-1000',
        `minreglengthtoplay` = '0',
        `mgc_cb_evo_permissions` = '0'
WHERE usergroupid=2;

Now the interesting part is that the error relates to a "mgc_cb_evo" chatbox, but that chatbox is not the one that is installed on this board.!!

So im guessing in my dealings earlier today when i had DB issues on another board that is using that chatbox got screwed up, so i guess im wondering how do i remove this from THIS boards DB.?

Biker_GA 06-30-2009 09:01 PM

You're right, it has nothing to do with the Arcade modification. To remove information from the database, you'll have to go in and do it manually.

Is this with a v3A game or an IPB game? Do you have more than one arcade system installed? Are your plugins enabled?

We have not had any Arabic volunteers yet. So far we have had volunteers for Turkish, Deutsch, and French.

may I ask when will "go back to backward page" on browser's error be fixed?

I do think many people click it and will see errors

The website doesn't work. I'd prefer to know that I have games to download on a site that works before downloading. I'm definitely interested but everytime I click on your sites link it says HTTP 501 Not Implemented/HTTP 505 Version Not Supported.

Any ideas?

Biker_GA 07-06-2009 05:55 AM

**shrug** Site works just fine. Just checked to see if there were any new posts there. Your error indicates an issue with your PC, though. It isn't the website causing the error.

Mahar 07-08-2009 05:34 AM

Where in the template can I get rid of the trophy icon that shows up under your username in your posts? Does that have to be coded out or can it be turned off in vB Options?
